"Interesting building"

"Close to all the best parts"
Hotel Im Wasserturn is a curious place since it's an old watertower turned into a hotel. It had its pros and cons. The staff is extremely friendly and nice and in my opinion this matters a lot to the overall feel. The hotel itself is great, we stayed on the ninth floor with a balcony and a view all over the city and this was great. The beds are nice, […] the quilts and pillows soft and lovely but the not so good things are the following: Since the hotel is built in a round tower it get's quite hot and they have yet to install a proper air conditioning. We had to borrow a fan. The TV has hundreds of channels but only a few news channels in english and no entertainment channels in english. No pay per view tv. Accueil service minimum, pas de visite préalable de la suite, Prises de courants fixées de trravers, chaussons de bain bas de gamme, un sachet de 25 grammes de nounours Haribo en guise de cadeau d'accueil (alors que l'hôtel possède deux restaurants dont un deux maccarons Michelin...). "Hat leider die besten Tage hinter sich"
Mit hohen Erwartungen fuhr ich in diesem Hotel in meiner Heimatstadt vor. Der gute Eindruck, den das Personal hinterlässt - insbesondere Concierge und Empfang - weicht Ernüchterung, wenn man die Zimmer betritt. Man gewinnt den Eindruck, dass nicht mehr renoviert, geschweige denn investiert wird. Flecken im Teppich, Risse in der Tapete, nicht mehr zeitgemässe […] Ausstattung des Badezimmers (Badetücher auf dem qualitativen Niveau von 2 Sterne Hotels), dies alles ist eines 5 Sterne Hotel nicht würdig. Das Frühstück ist zu teuer und 5 € für das Parken des Autos in der Garage fast eine Frechheit. WLAN Access, für Geschäftsreisende sehr wichtig, kostet unverhältnismässig viel. "leider schon etwas abgewohnt"
Man merkt dem Hotel das Alter inzwischen schon an. Der Service ist meines Erachtens der Klassifizierung angemessen nicht herausragend. leider wird an dem Hallenbad nebenan gerade schon sehr früh gearbeitet, somit wird man, wenn man bei offenem Fenster schläft leider davon geweckt wird.
