The location of the hotel is good. but is not worth spending 259 euros for a bigger room especially when breakfast is not included. the coffee machines in the room are quite old...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Really just OK"
Having stayed in a number of 5 star hotels in Europe this summer I was excited to stay at the Nikko. Upon arriving the staff was not terribly warm. We reserved a suite which is supposed to include free WiFi and access to the spa. The desk gave me the vouchers for neither. When I went to my suite, the in room information book said that both internet […] and Spa privileges had to be paid for separately. This was incorrect and I had to go back to the desk to get my spa and wi-fi privileges restored. The breakfast was good but not included in the price of the suite at $100 Euro for the four of us, it was one of the poorest values for a meal that I had in Europe so I recommend getting out of the hotel to eat. The hotel was about 1 5 minute walk to the historic old town. Manageable but in hindsight I would have preferred to stay in Old town and will next time. That is also where the best dining options are. Speaking of dining, this hotel caters heavily to the Japanese. It's adjacent to the German/Japanese Cooperation Group or something like that so almost all of the restaurants in the area are sushi or Japanese steakhouses. The main restaurant in the hotel is also Japanese. Overall I think this hotel was a disappointment. It had the basic amenities that qualify it as 5 star but the execution is poor as is the service. "Arrogant attitude kills good potential"
Room charge for wi-fi connection is 24.5 Euro and there is no free wi-fi in the lobby. This is by far the highest price I was charged in the past 3 years. Shampoo was missing and it took them 50 minutes and two phone calls to send me one. Speaking on shower, the pipe between the tap and the douche handler was a poorly installed plastic one, stops the […] water with every small move and I needed to screw it to stop the water spray all over. When checking out I complained, the reception manager did not say a word not to mention apology, he looked at me and did not think he has to say something. "Disappointed"
Did NOT enjoy staying at this hotel. The design lacked style, just an ugly box of a building. The lobby was boring, again nothing to distinguish it and entice you to spend time there! Up to the actual room and I was getting upset now! It was small and everything looked old, out of date and the wardrobe doors creaky too! Here I was, paying extra for […] a 5* hotel and I got a smaller room than at a 4*! Tiny bathroom too, all of it straight from a 1960's time warp - dreadful for the premium price paid! The TV was a flatscreen though, but it was an afterthought as it did not really sit well with the colours or design of the room, plus there was some wires hanging down from the back, which was a little bit of an eye-sore! Woke-up late one day and was told "breakfast is over" - in a 5* hotel, if I want breakfast at 1pm, then I expect to get it without any excuses! The Japanese restaurant downstairs is excellent, they have those private Japanese styled rooms where you sit on the floor and a girl dressed in traditional clothing serves the food: a wonderful experience. Only one course was to my tastes - the others were an experience that I am sure they must love in Tokyo, but was bland to my tastes. All-in-all, I would love to go back to the restaurant. Therein lies the solution for this hotel - don't stay here - if you want Japanese food, then you can drop in for dinner. 日航ホテルとなっていますが、日本語の話せる社員はおらず(お昼の短時間だけ日本語スタッフがいます)、庭の眺めも悪く、料金だけは日航という状態でした。日本のホテルとしてのサービスは期待せず、外資と考えて泊まった方がよいでしょう。 部屋は大変キレイです。外資のホテルと割り切って泊まれば、価格相応かな?と思えます。朝食は極度に高く内容もいまいちです。2500円程度で朝食があるのが唯一の救いでしょうか。コンビニはPM6~7時ごろ閉まりますのでご注意ください、Genuine Expedia guest review

"5つ星のレベルではない。"
