The location is away from town, but right by a U-bann stop. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We arrived at 8:00 am, and they were able to get us into our room so we could take a short nap before hitting Hamburg. A very nice greeting from the desk clerk both in the evening and in the morning set a pleasant atmosphere for our stay here. However the limited parking and the misleading hotel services book were disappointing. The Hotel Services Book said room service was available and it wasn't, it also said that they would bring you a tray of coffee or tea anytime […] of day and they said they didn't offer that service anymore! I went to the hotel and the taxi pulled up to the front of a lovely place, and when I checked in I found that my room, along with many others, were in the annex out back! It was quiet, the view of the back of the hotel was wonderful! The laundry bag in my room had already been used, there was no list for laundry services to be found. The wireless internet […] as promised was free after you registered and gave them your email address which is now filling up with spam, and it was frequestly so slow I went to sleep watching the hourglass spin. Carpets were dirty in the room, and next door to "the annex" was a lady's fitness center that blared loud music every night from 7 to 9 so you have to keep your window closed. Of course there is the breakfast, or the dinner buffet neither of which was worth the trouble or the cost. And lets not forget the U-bahn ride just to get into the city where everything is that you will want to see. Take my advice and choose another hotel in the city. The Motel 6-style blueprint meant being woken up at 2 in the morning by new patrons shouting and loudly wheeling their luggage to their rooms. I requested two beds, but really got one bed platform with two mattresses immediately next to each other. "Not worth it at all! Very old and depressing hotel. More like a 2-star."
I was not satisfied with this hotel at all. We booked a non-smoking room and got a smoking room with cigarette burns on the table and carpet. We were told that everything else was booked. On top of that, the room was old and smelly. It was more like a 2 star hotel or more like a motel. Very depressing decor, very small uncomfortable beds and low lighting. […] The next morning we asked for another room and we told that everything was booked. Only upon insisting did we get another room but once again, a smoking room! At least this room was bigger and had more light. We had to air out the room everyday to get the smoke smell out. The room was still pretty old and depressing. There are a couple of restaurants around and a pretty inexpensive supermarket a block away. Otherwise, you have to hop on the train for 4-5 stop to get to the center. However, just to the right of the hotel there's a Hamburg rail system station. For a group of up to 5 persons travelling after 09:30 CET, the cost is just E9.80 for a day ticket. The rooms facing the main road are subject to considerable traffic noise. The en-suite facilities are modern and clean. However the shower thermostatic controls has two settings, Freezing and scalding, with a tiny 'acceptable' zone between the two. Control is via a lever positioned at elbow height. This means that it is possible to accidentally move the temperature setting whilst showing. This is an excellent wake-up tonic. The hotel has off-street parking, either in the hotel garage (E5/night) or on the outside perimeter of the hotel grounds for free. Hotel reception is clean and spacious. Für ein 3 Sterne Hotel eine Enttäuschung. Wir waren nicht im Haupthaus, sondern mussten zur Hintertüre raus, über einen Hof und dann 2 Treppen (ohne Lift) hinauf.Die Möbel im Zimmer waren uralt. Italienisches Buffet für 16,50€ p.P. eine Zumutung!!! --> Um 20:30 Uhr schon kein Dessert mehr da, Fisch und Fleisch total trocken, Suppe schmeckt wie aus der Tüte, Lasagne nur in der Gemüsevariante vorhanden, lieblose Präsentation der Speisen. Betten im Zimmer viel zu weich. Keine Doppelbetten, sondern 2 Einzelbetten mit riesiger Lücke dazwischen. Absolut mangelhafte Schallisolierung der Fenster und Wände.
