Overall this hotel was perfect for our recent over night stay by the airport in Frankfurt. The only complaint I have is the airconditioning in the room did not work. Luckily it was cool outside and we able to open the window.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointment is just an understatement!!!"
I called the hotel from the airport boot; there was a bark in German on the other side and then they hung up. Later, I tried to ask a question. The receptionist waved at me as if shooing a fly…He was doing the complicated job of finding our reservation and did not want to be bothered. He said: “Everything is paid for”, which the next morning led to […] another surprise. Just having a first bite at the breakfast table, another bark (the only word to describe the tone, not the language) startled us. A maid demanded our “breakfast card”. To my question, if I can bring it to her later, she said: “Actually, NO!!!” I left the table and ran to get a card, given to us earlier. Wasn’t the right one. My credit card on file for them to charge was unsatisfactory; we were commanded to pay cash for the breakfast. There was no time for breakfast after all this gradual discovery of strict hotel policies. In their structured little minds we were some undisciplined English-speaking creatures, who might burst into unnecessary chat or run off, hard boiled egg in hand, without paying for it…So they put us in order. The room was equally unfriendly: over the top modern with sharp edges all over. You risk breaking a facial bone or loosing an eye on the table between the beds; if you sit up, you can break your skull on the metal edge of the wall lamp. "I can't believe the other reviews"
The location was indeed most convenient but I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. There was food floating in the toilet, the wastepaper baskets were not emptied, several of the lights were not working, the hallway carpeting was dirty and extremely worn, there was no offer to help carry luggage and because of all of this, I decided not to eat […] breakfast there, just in case. Earlier reviews were right on the mark. Clean, quiet, close to the airport, VERY helpful staff, small cafe on site. Rooms are small, but clean and well appointed including iPod docking station. "Close to airport and train station"
The staff spoke English well. It was conveniently close to the airport - the free shuttle pickup was appreciated. Our rooms were new, affordable and clean. The bistro restaurant downstairs was affordable and convenient. Slept great even though close to the airport. We would recommend this hotel. "Young & hip feel; affordable & convenient"
I was in Frankfurt for an overnight layover. I just needed a place near the airport, to shower and get some sleep before heading out the next morning. This hotel exceeded my expectations for what I paid. This is a cool hotel. The staff was quite nice. The shuttle service was very convenient. The only downside is there isn't any food options except the hotel's cafe. I would definitely stay here again but I will bring my own snacks.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and close to the airport."
We had an 11 hour layover in Frankfurt in our trip from NY to Singapore. We stayed at the Meininger for 8 hours which allowed us to get some sleep, a shower and a good lunch. "Rude and slow"
Front desk help was arrogant. This wasn't just 1 employee either. We were very polite to them but they acted like they had better things to do. Hotel room was clean and close to airport. "Brand New"
The hotel was new and quite functional. Everything was modern and pleasant, the breakfast was good too. Finding the hotel is tough, is through what appears to be a checkpoint for an old army base before you see the road. The Hotel was nice because it is new. Other than that not to great. We booked a 4 person room. We arrived at the hotel and our room was super small. Oppholdet vårt har vært veldig tilfredstillende. Personalet ved resepsjonen fortjener en ekstra skrytt!!!! De har vært veldig service instillt, har hjulpet oss raskt og kompetent med allt som måtte være. Isolasjonen av vinduene har vært utmerket.
