The Bankenviertel near the main train station has the offices of many financial institutions, most of the city's hotels, and a small red light district on Taunus Strasse. The Opera House and Schauspiel theatre are on Willy-Brandt-Platz and the English Theatre is on Kaiser Strasse. "Excellent location"

"Central and very good value"
The hotel is modern and nicely furnished. The rooms are clean, if not overly spacious and the beds are supportive and comfortable. There is free wifi in the lobby/reception area. "Hotel Ibis - close to Main but tiny rooms"
Compared to the standard we've come to expect from the Ibis in Liege, the Ibis in Frankfurt was a disappointment. Everything seemed overly complicated, from leaving the car park, purchasing Wifi access for 1,3 or 24 hour chunks, the hairdryer that only worked when you switched the bathroom light on... The staff were friendly and competent, breakfast […] at 10 Euros pp was plentiful and good quality. The room was the smallest hotel room we have ever seen and we have travelled a lot. A small bench replaced a wardrobe, a single hook in the bathroom which even with just a large towel on it then blocked the path to the toilet - fine for a single night stay, but we were there for three nights with a toddler... The window was a large, German style window which you could only open fully, not tilt it. Considering we were on the 6th floor with a three year old this was a major concern and also meant we struggled to get fresh air into the room safely. At some point we asked for an extra pillow and were told that there were no extra pillows available... The location is nice - right by the river, nice walks into town, a lovely new restaurant right across the road that serves amazing Pizzas and Pastas. "Ibis good value with hidden extras"
At first glance the Ibis is a basic hotel at a budget price. However we fast discovered that service matters a lot and there are nice touches here. We were stuck in Frankfurt due to the Qantas decision to ground all its planes - we needed to have flexibility with our accommodation booking as we were unsure whether or when we would fly out and the Ibis […] staff were very accommodating with generous check out and organising additional nights at short notice. As guests we had access to a computer with printer at no cost which was invaluable in keeping a written record of the Qantas dispute progress and the implications for us. The free wifi in the lobby was great but would have been better if this extended to the room as well. The rooms are small but very clean and well appointed - tea/coffee facilities are not available and this would improve things. Breakfast was also good with long availability times. The Ibis is located near the river and within walking distance of Frankfurt CBD - It is quiet yet accessible to shops, restaurants and sight seeing - we had a lot of pleasure walking the river bank and into the city centre. War über Ostern mit Frau und Kind in dem Hotel. Check-In und sonstiges wurde an der Rezeption schnell und effizient erledigt. Das Zimmer war recht klein aber sauber und angenehm.
