Prenzlauer Berg is Berlin's premier café district, and the trendiest address in town. Scarred in the war and left untouched during communist rule, buildings have now been renovated and property values continue to rise. There are weekly street markets on Kollwitzplatz and Helmholtzplatz, and breweries in the Kulturbrauerei and Pfefferberg. The painter Max Liebermann is buried in the Jewish Cemetery.

Noisy place - heard people and the lift all night. Clean and basic. No chair to sit on. Staff embarrassed us when we thought we had paid but a payment hadn't been taken and they kept my son's suitcase until I returned, causing a lot of inconvenience. Da vi kom var der opstillet babyseng, på trods af at børnenes alder var opgivet (10 og 14 år). Der stod fri parkering, men det var kun fordi vi var vedholdende, at vi fik det. De blev ved med at sige at det ikke var inkluderet i prisen. Morgenmaden er utrolig kedelig, men vi fandt kort derfra en dejlig morgenmadscafe. Posto nuovo in quartiere tranquillo, vicino al centro. Purtroppo cambiano gli asciugamani ogni 4 giorni, manca il sapone in camera, asciugacapelli, e televisione. Camere arredate stile ostello.
