We selected the A&O Berlin Hauptbahnhof hotel because of the price and distance from the main station. The neighborhood of the hotel is a bit underdeveloped... as the train station was relocated to the current site during expansion and not much business has migrated with the new service meaning if you want to eat near the hotel it will likely be at the train station. The hotel is a short 4-5 block walk to the station meaning the hotel is quiet while having easy access to the rest of the city/country. The hotel itself is clean and very modern featuring swipe cards, wi-fi (for a fee) a bar as well as fresh paint and regularly cleaned rooms. We stayed for 3 nights and our room was cleaned twice, but the sheets were not changed. The hotel staff was friendly all hours of the day and night speaking excellent English and offering advice when needed. I would recommend this hotel for those interested in traveling during the day and who do not mind a few train connections. by a Hotels.com guest on 02/02/12

Formerly the centre of East Berlin, Mitte is split down the middle by Unter den Linden and contains nearly all of Berlin's key churches, museums, theatres and memorials. The Fernsehturm (TV tower) by Alexanderplatz offers the best view over Berlin. Museums include the Pergamon, National Gallery, Bode and the Old Museum. The Red City Hall and the Dom (cathedral) are close to the museums.

Nice short stay in a good value for the money hotel. Rooms are with everything you need, might be just little noisy depending on other customers. Breakfast was good especially as it was included in prize.
