Built during the Berlin Airlift in 1948, Tegel Airport is located eight kilometres north of the Berlin central station, connected by bus TXL. Air Berlin flies from terminal C whereas all other airlines operate from A and B. Tegel is known for its convenience and efficiency, and the unique hexagon shape of terminals A and B makes walking distances short. It is due to close in 2011 for the expansion of Schönefeld Airport.

"Upper middle class hotel"
Hotel is modern with good sized rooms. Modern Bathroom thouh the shower has some overspray and the drain is too high. ( Second room where I noticed this).Beds are good but pillows are a joke. I bought my own!!!! Because of the proximity to the Airport you have a lot of planes that seem to fly through your room. But at night starting at 11pm it's quite, […] no more air planes. "Not good enough!"
Loud, to far from the city centre and awful bed with rubbish pillows and far to basic! Only good thing about the hotel room was the shower. It was shown as a 4* on this site but is actually a 3*, and not a very good one.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Freundlichkeit bei der Anreise"
Der Aufenthalt im Hotel war ganz ok .Bei der Anreise wurde ich vorm Hotel vom Hotel Elektriker mit den Worten Empfangen das ich nicht am Hotel parken solle ,( toller Empfang nach 600 Km ) Dachte erst das sei der Direktor des Hotels So ein arrogantes verhalten gegenüber eines Gastes habe ich noch nicht erleben können , Das wird ein Grund sein dieses […] Dorint Hotel nicht mehr zu buchen!!!!! Aber auch nicht weiterzuempfehlen auch nach einer beschwerte am Empfang kommt keine Entschuldigung. "Für alle ohne Ansprüche"
Zimmer sehr nüchtern, gerade noch akzeptabel.Im Wc habe ich mich echt geekelt, nachdem ich den wcdeckel hochgemacht habe. Möchte wirklich niemand wissen, was ich dort gesehen habe.Wenn ich das Fenster geöffnet habe, konnte ich den piloten der landenden Maschinen die Hand geben.Spricht eigentlich nur die Entfernung zum Flughafen für dieses Hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel mit speziellem Wecker"
Abgewohntes Hotel - sowohl verschlissene Teppichböden als auch verdreckte Tapeten. Der Boden des Zimmers war noch nicht einmal sauber gesaugt. Der Wecker war die erste Maschine, die morgens um 6:20 Uhr von Tegel startet und direkt über (durch) das Zimmer düste. Wer also morgens gerne mal eine Stunde länger liegen bleiben will, sollte auf das Hotel verzichten. […] Das Telefon funktionierte nicht, das Türschloss hatte auch eine fast leer Batterie und man mußte mehrmals die Karte durchziehen, ehe sich das Schloß auftat. Frühstück das extra zu zahlen war, haben wir uns gespart und sind ein paar Meter gegangen und haben in einer netten Bäckerei gefrühstückt. "Dorint in der Einflugschneise TXL"
