Location.
Overlooking the River Spree and Berlin Cathedral, the avant-garde Radisson Blu Hotel in central Berlin, Germany, is 100 metres from the Red Town Hall. Opened in 2004, the modern hotel is 300 metres from Berlin TV Tower and Museum Island, and is also close to the metro station, should you wish to explore farther.

Epitomising 21st-century design, the Radisson Blu Hotel spirals around the world's largest cylindrical aquarium, which fills the skylit atrium with turquoise light.
Dark wood floors and cream linen create a minimalist feel in HEat, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant opens onto a waterfront terrace overlooking Berlin Cathedral. Beneath the aquarium, the semi-circular Atrium Lobby Lounge and Bar offers snacks, coffee and champagne.
The hotel offers 15 meeting and conferences rooms, including the DomLounge which offers panoramic views of the Berlin skyline. There is also a business centre with a computer station, and wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The Radisson Blu Hotel Splash Wellness spa houses an indoor pool with two counter-currents, a solarium, sauna, aromatherapy steam room, and 24-hour fitness room. Guests can retreat to the relaxation room or refresh with drinks and snacks at the juice bar. Treatments range from reflexology to body wraps and massages.

Formerly the centre of East Berlin, Mitte is split down the middle by Unter den Linden and contains nearly all of Berlin's key churches, museums, theatres and memorials. The Fernsehturm (TV tower) by Alexanderplatz offers the best view over Berlin. Museums include the Pergamon, National Gallery, Bode and the Old Museum. The Red City Hall and the Dom (cathedral) are close to the museums.

Location: hard to beat. Walking south across Museumsinsel, one can easily reach Friedrichstr. (approx 10 mins walk). North is Alexander Platz, an important S+U Bahn hub for exploring the city. To the west, you can go to Hackescher Markt. Note that TXL bus that connects Tegel Airport with the city stops almost in front of the hotel (stop Spandauer Str.) Aquarium […] is a great feature and the next day at the hotel we wished we had chosen a room with the aquarium view. However, looking from the lobby (ground level) is not that comfortable :) Hotel guests can use the pool and sauna for free which is great. Internet is also free which should be a standard in all hotels today. Welcome fruit in the room on the check in day is a nice touch. Safe is conveniently placed in the room, lightning is great, toilet and shower are OK and very clean. Depending on the time of the year you visit, you can use the tiny private terrace to enjoy the view. "radisson blue.... needs some work on the details"
1) when i arrived, the safe in my room was not working. it took the repairman a few times before it became functional. this delayed me from going out and seeing the city. after awhile, i simply brought my valuables down to the concierge and locked it in their safe. i waited probably one hour or more before i decided to finally leave the hotel, and the […] repairman was still working on the room safe. fortunately when i returned a few hours later, the room safe was finally functional. 2) the thermostat control was not working. 3) wake up call was difficult to arrange, via the tv. or the phone. i stayed in the hotel for 6 nights, and i had to arrange VERBALLY with the front desk to PLEASE wake me at such a time, and only then did i receive my wake up calls. one may ask, is it possible i simply slept through the wake up calls? no, because every morning i woke up BEFORE the assigned wake up call and the call never came. this was especially important on the morning i was flying out of berlin. i had to be at the airport by 4 A.M. so i wanted TWO wake up calls...one at 3:15 and a followup at 3:25. i am a very light sleeper, and i ended up getting only the 3:25 call. fortunately, i was already packed the night before, but it was still VERY stressful to think i would have missed my 3:45 taxi pickup OR my flight. "Great hotel for its location"
Great location near the museum island. We stayed there for eight nights. In The last 4 nights, we changed to a room facing the aquarium that was a great experience. It's only two short blocks away from the bus stop for buses to & from Tegel airport as well as to other parts of the city. I was actually a little wary of this place -- a multi-storey fish tank in the lobby seemed like a bit of a gimmick -- but it's a well-appointed and well run hotel. Rooms are modern, comfortable, and extremely quiet (there's actually muzak playing in the hallways but you can't hear it at all as soon as you close the door).
