The Kempinski Bristol has a perfect location for subway and buses to get to all major tour sights in Berlin. Located on the Ku'damm, it is in walking distance to designer boutiques and local shops. The Hotel Kempinski was overall a very pleasant experience. It does seem that the night staff, does not know what the day staff does. In the evening when checking for a taxi for our ride to the airport, we were told there would be taxis there. In the more, we were told they would have to call one for us. In the evening, asked Jesus to book an additional […] night for us in the future. We informed us the hotel was "basically" full...so many important people coming. When we said we didon't care about the important people, we only wanted one room, we were told there were none. When asked about another hotel, we were told we could stay at the Holiday Inn by the airport. We proceeded to book our room at the Kempinski on their computer. Apparently Jesus was too busy to do this. The hotel restaurants are extremely disappointing. Many very nice restaurants abound a few steps from the hotel, The Petrocelli and the Turtle were our favorites. Read more

Wi-Fi charges are excessive (and so 20th Century); most newer hotels offer free Wi-Fi. However, Starbucks is conveniently located about 1/2 block away. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

Bathroom shower needs rubber mat AT ALL TIMES. VERY slippery. We had to request this. Actually, the entire bathroom floor is slippery when wet. ALso shower head is way too low on the wall. Should be higher or at least adjustable. We did not use the slippers but they kept being added to.There were only two of us but at one point we had 6 pairs of unused […] slippers. Some food snacks left on one day included ONE (!) raspberry and ONE (!) chocolate. Maybe 18-20 grapes. A nice gesture, but please. Why did you bother? Computer room a very nice touch. Clean spackous rooms, ni e baghroom, tub and shower in suite. The downthing was the staff that at firat refused our upgrade through expedia elite plus program and was acting impolite. But after contacting expedia they arranged it. Very good location close to entrrtainment, cafe, good restaurants. Nice breakfeast.

We notified front desk at 10:00am about our arrival. We were told that the guests don’t’ check out until noon. I completely understand that. We were given the keys to the room at 2:50pm. I don’t believe it takes 3 hours to get the room ready knowing that we were sitting in the lobby al this time. It was just sluggish on the customer service part.

This hotel is not really close to the main sites, but it is within walking distance of the U/S-bahn stop and public transportation. The hotel was comfortable and the staff helpful, but it felt as if the hotel had seen better days. There was a faint smell of sewage in the bathroom (I should note that there appears to be widespread sewer work in this […] area of Berlin, so this may be a general problem.) The rate we paid for the hotel itself was very reasonable, but the price for breakfast was high (25 Euro/person); since we are not big breakfast eaters, we went out for coffee and rolls instead, but found this much less convenient. My only quibble with the hotel is that they charge for wifi. It was 6 Euro an hour, which is ridiculous. Other hotels in Germany offer free wifi, and it seemed awfully cheap for such a fancy place to not offer it free to their guests.

Older hotel, still not using flat screen tv's smallsh room, it was fine for me (solo traveler) but seemed a tiny bit small for a couple. On the positive side, the staff is very friendly, the old style is just that, very stylish, high ceilings, nice art work, outstanding restaurant, very comfortable lobby and large relaxing sitting area with food, small […] bar, new papers etc. Late night lounge intimate, well stocked and very professional staff. If you like to shop, this is the place to stay. Outstanding but very high end shopping comparable to staying at the Plaza. Safe neighborhood, 17 minutes to Tegal Airport. (13 euros by cab) Great tours available within one minute from for front door. Hotel is a great value but remember the hotel is very clean but is older. In general this is a beautiful hotel and the location on the Ku'damm could not be better! The rooms border on the luxurious and the facility is great. From the cafe you can sit and watch the world stroll by. The front desk staff and the wellness center staff were wonderful. One small complaint. I was traveling alone and well, I just couldn't shake […] the feeling that the restaurant staff were not quite giving me their full attention. The food was great, but couples and families definitely got better service than I did and unfortunately this was the case for all of the meals I had at the hotel. 4 star rating would be fair. Didn't go the extra mile, for example no offer to carry luggage and fridge bar not replenished . Our room on the first floor was next to room service facilities and very noisy throughout the night . I with four others of my family stayed here and we all enjoyed the hotel, however, our stay was marred on the last evening when, on returning at 23.00 after dining at the sister hotel Adlon, we sat at chairs around a table near a cosy fire, for coffee and after dinner drinks. We were told the table was reserved for another guest, which I questioned […] as it is a public lounge. The duty manager, who I asked to see, said the person for whom it was reserved "Is the hotel's most important guest". I responded, that by definition, this made all other guests less important, whereas in my view all guests should be treated equally. We were refused service and left at 23.30, by which time the guest for whom the table was reserved had not arrived! I sent an email of complaint to the general manager who responded saying, "The guest in question had reserved the table for the whole evening". Not a satisfactory response. Such a shame as otherwise, the hotel was very good, but this attitude by management puts me off from returning. Read more

We got a 5 night reasonable deal but if I would have paid the full rack rate I would have been quite unhappy. It was not our first visit to Berlin and in the past, we stayed in 4* hotels that were much better overall and cost less. The Kempinski Hotel Bristol Berlin location is great for shopping and dining, it is very near to a U bahn station and bus […] stations. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Classic room is small but clean the beds were ok not more, in the bathroom the towels were thin the bathtub was high and not suitable for old people (for us it was ok). The cleaner forgot systematically to leave soaps, shampoo and body lotion. No free Wi-Fi!!! And the Wi-Fi price per day or hour is unreasonable. The TV was very old, not LCD or LED. The hotel needs a revamp. Not what I expected from a 5* hotel. Read more

PROs: nice and big room (junior suite), good location for shopping and dining around, easy access to U bahn. CONs: dump smell in the corridor (3th floor), slow services at breakfast (had to wait several times for 10-15 minutes for ordering a cappucino and for fried eggs), outdated TV in the room, free WiFi in the lobby is a joke!

We stayed 4 days and 5 nights at hotel Kempinski and had an absolutely lovely stay. The staff was friendly, the hotel rooms (superior double) was spacious and comfortable and the pool/sauna area was very relaxing (although a no bathing suit rule is employed in the sauna area which we weren't too comfortable with). Also the smoking area is very nice […] if you want to enjoy a cigar and brandy. This is an ideal location for a city trip to Berlin. The bus, metro and train stations are located within a 5 minute walking distance of the hotel and there is always a taxi waiting outside the front doors. The full breakfast offered is a bit pricey at 25 euros but there is a Starbucks located across the street if you want a good cup of coffee and a muffin as an alternative. Although Wifi is available for a charge in the room there are two computers available for downstairs in the business area for checking email and other online browsing. Would definitely stay again.
