"The Management of this terrific Hotel is Superior!"
I booked the Spa Suite at this hotel for a weekend with friends. The suite was spacious and had a huge jacuzzi tub, perfect for a relaxing soak or romantic getaway (I would imagine.) We had one problem with our room, and at the time, it wasn't fixed. However, after reporting the problem in a review, the management was MORE than accomodating, spoke to […] his staff about ways things could have been done better and seemed to truely care about his customer satisfaction. The location of this hotel couldn't be more convenient to the heart of San Jose and shopping, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The hotel is also very elegant and there are a couple of wonderful restuarants nearly across the pedestrian street outside the hotel. It is also about two blocks from the city's "arts and crafts market" where you can get all of your souvenirs for your trip home! It's also about one block walk to the central square where you will find the Gold Museum, National Mint, the National theater (absolutely worth going to see a performance, very inexpensive, and absolutely beautifully restored historical theater.) I highly recommend this Hotel, and if you have any problems during your stay, just talk to the management and I am sure they will do everything they can to make things right. Dut to Hurricane Sandy, our travel plans changed and we arrived a day early in San Jose. The woman tending the front desk was able to accomidate the 6 of us with ease, patience, and friendliness.The hotel was beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was so yummy. "More than we expected"
The room was huge for our purposes. All was very good. The room we were assigned was above a very busy street and was quite noisy, but we were there for the nighlife anyway so it didnt bother us. If we were there for business and needed early wakeups, it wouldn't have been practical. In all, we were very satisfied. Went with a group so we had a few rooms. All very clean and no issues. Front desk always friendly when asking about the places around town. The food staff were great and breakfast was tailored upon request. The driver (believe his name was Marvin) was open about the do's and don'ts around town and what places to avoid. Had a great stay, The employees were courteous and helpful, and all spoke good English. The Hotel's exchange rate was MUCH better than the airport, and the complimentary breakfast was top notch. It is a beautiful hotel but very hard to find when you are driving. We had to get a taxi to escort us to the building as there were no eye level signs. Once inside though, it was a great experience. If you travel with your friends, be aware! They don't let anyone else enter to the hotel upstairs than them who lives in the hotel, at any time of the day.
