"A good basic airport hotel"
The hotel was clean and the room nicely furnished. Staff were friendly. I would have liked to have seen WiFi available in the room. These days many people don't travel with laptops and work from iPhones etc which don't allow for Ethernet connection. There appeared to be nothing around the hotel except office buildings but it is near the airport so that […] is expected. You can get a van to the hotel from the International Airport for less than $15 I believe - I got a taxi to the hotel from the International Airport and it was approx $25. For the price, it was good and I would stay there again if I needed to stay near the airport. There are two restaurants in the hotel. No salon or little shops etc. There is also a pool but I didn't see it for myself. in hindsight I would stay somewhere in town as there is the airtrain that takes you directly to the city from the International terminal for $15 (one way). "Holiday Inn Sydney Airport"
Nothing special and it cost almost as much as the Marriott Circular Quay where we spent most of our holiday. We only came here for the last night to be closer to the airport. Very disappointing they wanted to charge $5 for 30 min Wifi. Even the 5 star Marriott downtown didn't charge us for Wifi use. We chose not to pay for Hol Inn Wifi on principle […] and walked a couple blocks to a cafe with free Wifi. We also noticed that employees at the front desk were distracted when attending to customers - mostly with each other - causing delays. "Dining experience from Hell"
Restaurant service was dreadful. Virtually no service at all and tried to put 4 of us on a small table for 2. We tried to book 3 times during the day - the phone was unanswered each time. Then was told by reception that there was no need to book. Turned up, were asked if we booked - no, were told we didn't need to - consequently tried to squeeze us […] on to a tiny table. We complained and a new table was set up. Were pretty much ignored most of the night. My meal came out 15 mins after everyone else's and only after we complained.
