For the price, this hotel was fantastic. The location was central to several of the big sites. While the decor and amenities in the room were a little... "90s", we found the hotel comfortable and hospitable. The concierge in particular was wonderful! They helped us to arrange for a car to take us around, get a taxi wherever we needed to go... and they even wrote out how to order tickets for the train in Chinese for us. Overview

Location. Prime Hotel Beijing is located on the north end of Wangfujing Street, the most renowned shopping thoroughfare in Beijing, China. The hotel stands two kilometers from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The back lakes, which are surrounded by traditional courtyard houses, are located immediately south of this property.

Hotel Features. The lobby of the contemporary-style Prime Hotel Beijing features a central fountain, an automated grand piano, and a reception desk backed by silver-and-gold Chinese wall design. Hotel dining options include the Emperor Chinese Restaurant that specializes in Hunanese and Cantonese cuisine. Paris meets Beijing in the intimate Elysée Grill that serves French cuisine and offers an extensive wine list. Chinese décor and a stone bar define Tang Ren Bar that serves snacks and beverages, while Café Wangfujing prepares Asian and European cuisines. The Prime Hotel houses a ballroom, three function rooms, and a full-service business center. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel's public areas. A health club boasts a sauna, a steam room, plunge pools, mahjong rooms and sixteen massage rooms. A separate full-service health spa contains an indoor pool and a fitness center equipped with treadmills, weight stations and cycling machines.

Guestrooms. The Prime Hotel offers 400 guestrooms decorated in shades of gold and yellow. Embroidered Chinese scenes or watercolors adorn the walls. All accommodations feature sofas and armchairs. Rooms are equipped with remote lighting and drapery controls, cable television, complimentary high-speed Internet access, and desktop computers on request. Guestrooms contain minibars, coffeemakers, in-room safes and complimentary bottled water.

Bicycles also offer a simple alternative to public transportation for exploring the Forbidden City, located adjacent to the park.

The Prime Hotel's health club contains a variety of recreational facilities. The hotel itself is quite nice for the price. The location was most important to me - very close, walking distance, to major shops, street markets & malls. The staff is very polite & helpful. The hotel restaurant is a bit expensive... so eat there only when necessary. I enjoyed the gym, with free-weights, treadmills & TV. The room was pretty much as […] expected. No frills. Got a good rate from hotels.com. I would stay there again. In China, always make sure to have the taxi put you on the meter. If they don't, they'll overcharge you.. and keep an eye on the meter at all times... then, the taxis are cheap. Read more

Surprisingly nice hotel, more upmarket than I expected for the price. Just 5 minutes walk puts you in the main shopping area of Beijing, with restaurants galore, plenty of upmarket malls and a reasonable tourist market down the narrow side streets. Tianamen Square is a 25 minute walk, as is the Forbidden Palace. The Summer Palace and hutongs are 25 […] minutes walk in the opposite direction. Este hotel aunque algo clásico y de una cadena china tiene muy buen servicio, con personal que habla inglés correctamente y aunque no está exactamente céntrico (las distancias en Beijing son amplias) no está lejos de la principal calle comercial aunque la ciudad prohibida queda algo lejos.
