Great location as far as being close to sights and lots of restaurants, but right next to some fetish and sex shops so maybe not a great place for kids. The room was neat and clean. The beds were comfortable and all linen clean and in good condition. It could do with a bigger fridge and one where the freezer was not iced over. The staff are very professional and helpful. I arrived a couple of hours early and my room was ready. My room was felt in need of a little maintenance though. The light over the bed didnt work, not all the TV channels worked, the plug in the bathroom was broken and there was a very long cobweb from the ceiling over the desk to the light over the bed. Having read the previous reviews on here they are all probably accurate. The hotel is not perfect but for the money it is very fair value. A great location and helpful staff make for an enjoyable experience. Sure there could be a little more attention to deep cleaning to get rid of minor mould in the shower but it was perfectly adequate for a hotel […] stay of a few days. You cant beat this price when looking at hotels in Sydney. For our last night in Australia we need a cheap hotel in a decent location. This hotel is a good walk from most attractions. For first-time visitors, we were pleased to find that Cambridge Hotel is in a very good location (quiet and private, you could say, without being too out of the way) and walkable from the good food places of Surrey Hills. They were very accommodating to us, providing extra toiletries & utilities to the 3rd family member in our room, and giving directions […] to places of interest & how to get there. Also, an airport bus arrives every hour on the hour to carry guests to SYD, so you can buy tickets at the reception desk as well. We didn't have breakfast though, and 212 cafe isn't always open when we would have wanted to, but there are other options around, so it wasn't too big a deal.
