"Feel Old shanghai"

"Better alternatives but never in winter!"
Booked what looked liked a really quirky boutique style hotel ala 1920's Shanghai style. Design is good. No visible signs of a hotel feel. Rooms are a throw back to the old days, but given that the winters in Shanghai can be bloody cold, the heating system is not upto getting the rooms fully warm. Worst is the bathrooms are well designed but cold as […] the Antarctic. There are no forms of heating in the bathroom, its just plain freezing. Anyhow, there are alot of improvements that could be made in the rooms to make it more comfortable and warm for the winter. Will i stay again? I doubt it. Shanghai has many hotels at cheaper prices without paying for decor but still comfortable. Asset Hotel Wanping Lu, is great. The Junior Suite is half the price of the Gallery Suite and warmer. "Skønt hotel i det franske kvarter."
Har boet mange gange på dette herlige hotel, men det trænger snart til renovering. Alligevel er man ikke i tvivl om at man vender tilbage gang efter gang.. "관리 및 서비스 마인드가 아쉬운 부띠크호텔"
천정부지로 치솟는 상해물가를 감안할때 호텔닷컴에서 제시한 특별가는 분명 매력적이었지만, 호텔이 갖고 있는 부티크(?)한 매력과 소형호텔만이 보여줄수 있는 친밀한 서비스가 부재함으로써, 오히려 '오래전에는 매력적이었겠구나'라는 아쉬움만 남는 호텔이었습니다. 그랜드 스위츠 룸은 그랜드하기는 했지만, 너무 춥고 썰렁해서 오히려 콤팩트한 넓이였으면 하는 아쉬움이 있었으며, 고객을 방관하는 듯한 직원(단 한명)의 태도는 여행 첫날의 설레임을 사그라들게 했습니다. 동일 가격이라면 차라리 체인모텔이나 관광지와 더 연결성이 좋은 호텔을 택하는 것이 현명할 듯.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel is very nicely decorated but doesn’t match 5 star standards. Receptionists speak fluent English and are very nice. But breakfast is very basic, just eggs and toast, and it is open only from 7:30 to 9:30 AM. The restaurant staff is really unfriendly.
