I expected more from a five-star rated hotel. My wife and I would only give it 3.5 stars. The room size, quality and feel was quite good, but the hotel location is not so near (20 min. walk) to the ocean. Our room looked onto a power-generating station next door. The gym is small and only adequate. The breakfast buffet was average. The Chinese restaurant […] was excellent, however, and good value for money. The design and ambience of the hotel bar was very good when we visited on Valentine's Day. The wine list was good, but the food was just above average. My wife and I like Xiamen.
