Conveniently near the airport in Manunda, Palm Royale Cairns is close to Cazaly's Stadium, Cairns Convention Centre, and Barlow Park. Also nearby are Royal Flying Doctor and Cairns Central Shopping Centre.

The location was very far from the downtown area. The hotel needs upgraded, & the room was run down & seemed dirty. I paid for Internet, but couldnt get network to work anywhere in the room. "Highly economical and best value for money"
We needed a place to stay for 4 days in Cairns and since we had planned day tours, it was important to find something economical and clean. Palm Royale was ideal for that. "Comfy beds, gorgeous pools/grounds, friendly staff"
The pools were beautiful and spotlessly clean. Lagoon pool is just gorgeous. The gardens are kept pristine by the hard working maintenance man. The staff were always very approachable, friendly and helpful. The beds were so comfortable we could have stayed forever. Our room was clean with complimentary bathroom and beverage goodies. With the doors closed […] it was noiseless even though our room overlooked the pool and breakfast area and was close to lift. Aircon was just right and fairly quiet. The little shopping centre right across the street was very convenient as is the close by public bus service as well as bus shuttle offered by the hotel. The internet service available is fast and the room and furniture are comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good and catered for many tastes. Negatives were minor such as mildew on the plastic awning around the breakfast area and visible from the pool looked shoddy and just a couple of small cockroaches terrifying the kids in the room, but considering the humidity numbers were minor. "Family holiday"
I loved Cairns, however the hotel was just to far away from the CBD- even though there was a shuttle bus that ran at various times throughout the day. Our room faced the pool on one side which was really nice but the other side faced a very busy road so the traffic noise was very annoying. "Extremely quiet and restful"
We had a very enjoyable stay at Palm Royale Cairns, room overlooking the pool was perfect! We did have a little trouble finding our way at night from downtown to the Hotel. "Convenient to arterial roads to city and sights"
Resort was fairly comfortable. Husband's bed was lumpy. Toilet roll holder was right next to seat and instantly fell off. Cleaners would simply put it back so down it went again. Weird! 'The Palm Royale experience was great value: a lovely setting for the 25-metre lap pool, shopping mall across the road and friendly, helpful staff. EXCEPT: While breakfast for $15 each was reasonable -- when I asked for two fried eggs instead of scrambled eggs, I was told these would cost an additional $2.50 per egg! I suggest this is right out of keeping […] for the hotel generally, plus while we knew the check-in time was 2 p.m. our flight arrived at Cairns Airport at 10.45 a.m. their inflexibility meant we had a long wait for our room. Most hotels, in my experience, if the cleaners have not finished preparing the room, will switch rooms or ask the cleaners to ready the room a.s.a.p., especially if the hotel is not heavily booked. The hotel was listed as 4 star, which was very misleading, there was no restaurant or bar on site, the facade was extremely shabby, covered with mould and facings fallen off, the whole hotel was in desperate need of a refit, not in a very nice area, we were warned of thefts and to be very careful.
