great location for public transport in and out of geneva. Only potential drawback is the prostitution and drug dealing of the red light district located right across the street. The hotel location near the train station, close to United Nations Palais and LAke Geneva were just right. The staff was helpful, professional, courteous and friendly. The room service was prompt and affordable. The dinner meals were delicious. This was an excellent choice for a mature, single woman businesswoman. EastWest Hotel was thoroughly enjoyable. The decor is modern - which I like. The use of space was very efficient, and at the same time aesthetically pleasing. "Tasteful retreat"
I was extremely pleased with this hotel. It is the third hotel I have stayed in in Geneva and it is the most upscale. The hotel and rooms are tasteful, open and clean feeling. The room is good to work in -- a good table, good lighting, and convenient electrical outlet. The bathroom is well designed and relatively spacious. The hotel is located on a […] quiet street but is convenient to the train station and buses, as well as the lake. There are excellent restaurants right on the same street. "I'd definitely stay there again"
I stayed at the East West Hotel for 4 nights this past June before a conference started elsewhere in Geneva (at another hotel). It was a great choice - 2 blocks from Lake Geneva on the Right Bank and about a 5-10 minute walk to the Tourist Info office and the main transport depot in the city. It was also only ~10-15 minutes by foot to Old Town. Also […] the staff was quite helpful and the room was quite nice (though no view - you are on a side street 2 blocks from the Lake). They also had a very nice library downstairs with a TV (watched the US-Algeria game) and where you can also be served food. Right across the hall is a formal sit down restaurant and just outside in the back is very lovely patio with a waterfall where you can also eat. The in-house restaurant has very good food (ate one dinner and one brunch there), but be forewarned - it's very (very) expensive (though so is all of Geneva). I wound up eating at Halle de Rive (an indoor market near the English Gardens), the local supermarket (there's a Manor about 5 minutes away) and an African restaurant across the street from the hotel as cheaper choices. In summary, the hotel was great, the staff were very helpful and the amenities were quite nice (oh, and wi-fi was free, which was nice). Highly recommend the hotel. I often have to go to Geneva on business and get very depressed about how much I have to pay for poor-mediocre hotels.
