Room temperature couldn't be adjusted on a per room basis. The humidity was so bad and we were so hot at night. The location of the hotel is outstanding and, in my opinion, cannot be beat. The amenities in the room in which we stayed were nothing particularly spectacular, but the size was surprisingly large for any intercity hotel (European or otherwise), and there was a good sized bathtub that was completely unexpected. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our room, which was large, clean and very stylish. Our room had a computer in it, as well as great internet access. The location makes it a challenge to get to the hotel, at least by car, and there is practically no place to park. -Convenient location to Old Zurich-restaurants, museums, historiacl buildings and small unique shops. Rooms are a bit small and somewhat crowded but they do provide fans for warm summer evenings. Breakfast is enjoyable with the basic European fare.

This was a short stay of one night since our trip was delayed a day and we had planned two nights in Zurich. The hotel is in a very convenient loctation of a plaza area in the Old Town section of Zurich. There are a plethora of cafes and restaurants surrounding the area. We had 4 of us comfortably in one room and did not feel croweded. It is very quiet […] and dark in the room at night. There is a nice European breakfast that is provided with the room. A very convient location for access to the main train station and downtown area. Unfortunatly Zurich proper is no longer as tourist freindly as it once was and is very expensive. The Hotel has a reasonable selection of food items for breakfast but it is not what it once was. The Hotel changed ownership in the past few years and no longer has the charm […] that it once did. The Wellenburg is a well run hotel. The staff was helpful and courteous as need be. The hotel is close to the railway station, and bus terminal where tour groups are picked up. The hotel is also in a beautiful area, and near shops and resturants of many types.

Stayed in July when the weather was quite warm and although the room was not air conditioned, a fan was provided and coupled with the outside shutters made the room comfortable. As with other hotels we stayed at in Europe, the bed covering was a fairly thick duvet which we had to remove from its cover for comfort sake. The most notable aspect of this hotel is it's superb location right in the middle of the old town with all it's character and many restaurants, bars and shops only steps away. I always stay at the Hotel Wellenburg when I come to Zurich on business and have stayed here more than 20 times. It's clean comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a disappointment though and probably it's better to go to a local cafe to get a good breakfast.

The Wellenberg is located right in the centre of the old town surrounded by restaurants and shops but only 200 metres from the river and new city and a further 200 metres to the railway station. I liked the Wellenberg and would be happy to recommend it. The rooms weren't quite as spectacular as the pictures, but they were clean and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located and with friendly and efficient service. The breakfasts are delicious and there is a lovely terrace where you can sit outside. I would be happy to recommend.

Close to the rail station and public transport, restaurants and supermarket. 24 hour travel card in Zurich is well worth it. Before staying here I'd read one or two negative reviews from people who couldn't sleep because of noise outside. Having just returned, I can see where these people were coming from. I stayed over what several locals told me was the hottest period in 25 years. The rooms have fans but no airconditioning (at least mine didn't). This wasn't a problem […] at all but it did mean leaving the window open and there was street noise from outside (especially on Saturday night) as our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the street below and youth hostel opposite. If you are extremely sensitive to noise, I would recommend asking for a room overlooking the inner courtyard which seemed incredibly tranquil. But personally the noise wasn't a problem at all and I'd happily stay again in the same room. The hotel itself was clean, tidy, rather simple I suppose but a very nice place and excellently located with very kind and helpful staff. Breakfast on the terrace on a beautiful summer's day was superb! Read more

Great location and liked the small quaint hotel in old area of city. Rooms clean and comfortable. Modern, decor updated few years ago. Main problem was that if it was hot the rooms did not have controllable A/C and when opened windows for cool air the street noises were bothersome.
