We only booked this hotel to spend one night before catching an early train next day. The beds are setup on the european way. It was supposed to be a... king bed, but they only provided two indiviual duvets, I felt like I was sleeping on a slepping bag over a king bed, weird. The room was small, but ok. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10 am, but at 9:50 am they were already putting away stuff, no matter people was walking in. by Nancy from Mexico on 04/03/13

The Sorell Hotel Seidenhof is right in the centre of Zurich, just off the main shopping street and opposite the Jelmoli department store. There is a Asian restaurant (which we didn't try) where a reasonable buffet breakfast is served. The staff are all very pleasant and our room was comfortable and pleasant. The hotel was a little pricey for what it was - however that's Switzerland for euro travellers these days. The hotel was perfectly located for walking distance to everything. The room & breakfast was basic but functional. In fairness, it suited us as we weren't planning on spending our day in the hotel & wanted to explore the city.

I stayed at the hotel for three nights with my partner. The Hotel is very close to the railway station and just off the 'sophisticated' Bahnhofstrasse, a pedestrian street full of designer shops. Both the city centre and the lake are just 10 minutes walk away. We had a room on the top floor and it was comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly […] and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.
