DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bristol - Cadbury House

We stayed here one night because we were led to believe the hotel is close to the Bristol airport. It's not. So if you want a hotel close to the airport, this is not it. On the flip side its a very nice hotel. Great pub area & pub food. Nice staff - very helpful. I'd stay here if you plan to be in the area for a while.

Once we managed to find the hotel - I would highly recommend using a GPS!!! - the site and the service were lovely and restful. The staff, however, was not very helpful with local information, whether from lack of interest of inability. Beautiful location for a totally independent traveler!

Spent one night at this hotel. All was fine except we had ordered a king bed and what we received was a queen. When I questioned this, I was told that what we had was a king bed, if I wanted somehting bigger, we could upgrade to a 'special room' with a large king bed. ? ? ? Hello, a king is a king ! ! ! The room was crowded because there was a couch […] along one side of the room and the bed was not against the wall as there was a closet alcove behind the headboard. The bed was comfortable but not suitable for two who are used to sleeping in a king bed. The bathroom was nice but I don't remember too much about it. Your night's stay includeds use of the health/fitness club in the next building but did not include breakfast which we thought was rather expensive. We left in the morning and went to a nice cafe in a local town. Had a nice breakfast at a more reasonable price. The grounds for this hotel were wuite nice and we did have a room overlooking the lake with the sea beyond that and the mountains ever further away. There was free WiFi in the lobby and in the pub area down the steps. This hotel is being expanded so there is construction going on but not in the area where you stay and we never heard any construction noise. Read more

excellent location, just about 5 miles from Bristol International Airport (UK). definitely a much preferable location and ambiance to other "airport hotels" in the vicinity. Upgrade to a "luxury" king room (not much more) if you wish to awake with a sweeping view of the countryside. extensive and delicious breakfast spread included in the upgraded room. full […] service spa with pool, sauna and steam room offered as a complimentary service to guests; also a hair salon if needed. hotel does not offer its own shuttle to the airport, but will arrange a taxi with a locally operated company if required. all in all, a comfortable hotel in a picturesque location, ideal for an pre-flight overnight or even a short weekend break. I have stayed at this hotel before for 4 nights and had a good experience, but this time for one night was a bit of a disappointment. They advertise free bottled water in the rooms, and shaving mirror, neither of which were there, and TV remote and clock radio weren't working also. They have a "Careline - Call anytime and let us know what we can do […] to make your stay great", but when I rang there was no answer - no surprises there I guess. Average and had hoped it would be excellent. The website pics of the building build up an image which, in the main, was exaggerated. In general, a positive experience. The room was pleasant, with a view of a small lake and fountain. I had expected a king size bed to be 6 feet wide, as this has been my experience in other hotels in the UK and Europe, but I have now discovered that an English king size is sometimes only 5 feet in width. However, all the hotel staff, in housekeeping, the bar and the restaurant at breakfast, were extremely helpful and efficient. The hotel was fully booked and we were unable to get a table in the restaurant for dinner at the time we would have liked. However, we had a very good bar-meal. The breakfast was excellent, with a varied choice of food. The hotel is an extended manor house, but relatively little character has been retained or used for inspiration in the bar and restaurant areas. I was surprised to see a beautifully carved wooden fire-surround in a very narrow corridor leading to the pretentiously named Wash Rooms (toilets). What a pity that this feature had not been used as the centre piece of a room. In general, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel, although we found the car park rather a long way from the hotel entrance. Read more

The sub-Manager is a rude man. I asked for a second glass of Champagne at the wedding reception and instead of talking to me directly he spoke to the Barman, shaking his head with his back to me and the poor bar man had to apologise to me and deny me my request. Lovely hotel in a lovely setting (despite the constant rain). The rooms were clean and well maintained, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The staff at this hotel were excellent and really could not be more pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel was very busy when we stayed with a Halloween Party and a Wedding. There was an obvious laundry problem as the Spa ran out of pool towels and we were asked to use the towels from our room, the Hotel also ran short of tablecloths for breakfast […] on Sunday morning. Party guests were up and down the corridors making lots of noise and banging doors until after 3am on the Sunday morning. The design of the over Bath shower meant it was impossible to have a shower without totally flooding the bathroom floor. There was a window from the Bathroom into the Bedroom which did not allow much privacy. This Hotel would be acceptable for a one night stopover but there is limited hanging space and no drawers to unpack your luggage making it impractical for a longer stay. Read more

Have spent 2 nights at the hotel, great welcome with a nice and warm cookie, bedroom was nice as well, comfy double bed. Full access to the spa facilities which are quite good. They also have amazing gym facilities. Went for a nice and chilled out WE and enjoyed our stay.

Went with 2 kids and grandparents. The staff were ALL helpful, the breakfast was amazing and the pool and spa facilities kept us all very happy. I took my son away for an overnight stay at the hotel as a little treat during half-term. The grand old building is impressive and the staff were warm and welcoming on arrival making us feel at home. The welcome cookies were a nice addition to the usual tea and coffee. Our room wasn't huge but it was adequate and we were comfortable. My son was a little disappointed in the fairly limited TV channels available without paying for more, and unfortunately we couldn't use the pool again in the morning as no children were allowed before 11am, which was a big disappointment to him! An excellent hotel with a first-class service. We really enjoyed the Marco Pierre White restaurant and the fillet steak was almost as good as the one I had in Argentina a few years ago! Very helpful staff in the Club spa, which was immaculate.

The bed was comfortable, but the decor was tired. the television did not work properly & one of the bed side lights wouold not work.
