"handy to train station"
The hotel is within 5 minutes of a supermarket and 10 minutes of a train station which makes easy travel into the city without the hassle of taking a car. The trains are very clean and have a feeling of safety as does the walk back to the hotel at night. Our room was in a most Inconvenient location ... we had to carry luggage down stairs as there was no elevator to that part of the hotel ... the room was small but understood it was an older hotel so not a problem ... just the walking and climbing with luggage. "A great stay at Mount Royal"
A centrally located hotel, clean rooms, good resturant connected to the hotel and service minded staff. We stayed three days in Banff, and the location of the hotel was perfect, with short distance to shops, bars, resturants and ski-bus. The Mount Royal is a historic hotel that doesnt feel old, whilst maintaining the charm of a period hotel it has been well maintained and updated. The room was very clean. The bed was clean but a little on the soft side, but still comfortable. The only downside is that it can be a little loud when its busy, we stayed in April so it was ok but the Saturday […] night was noisy when the bars kicked out and stayed so for about 30 minutes, however this is a small price to pay for the town centre location. The front of house staff are really helpful we arrived early and although the room wasnt ready we were provided with a parking pass so that we could get rid of the car and explore the area.
