"Nice design, great beds, but where's the coffee?"
The hotel is nice, not fancy but cool/trendy and clean. Beds are very comfortable. One thing that's is utterly annoying - the nice espresso machine in the room with... the lack of capsules in the room. Finding out when you get up that not only do you have to pay $2 for your coffee capsule but that you have to go downstairs to get it from front desk […] is insulting and totally against providing a "cool and modern" experience for your guests. "A great time"
This hotel is very well organised and managed. The room has been clean, and the bathroom has everything one needs. A few inconvenients: the breakfast and the location. We like a nice continental breakfast, with lots of choices, which usually costs around $10.00. This was not the case. We have been wakened in the middle of the night by powerful knockings […] at the door for which we would not have received even an appologize if we would not have raised the issue at the reception next morning. But this are facts of life. All in all, we loved our trip, and we enjoyed our stay at ALT, but if we would have to go back to Quebec City, we would stay at Hilton or Marriott. "Great and affordable"
Great room for the price! Very nice bathroom, but a little problem with the sound isolation... Despite the thick wooden door, you can hear someone breathe in the bedroom, so you don't really have any privacy... and the same problem, at a lower degree, applies to the rooms: we could hear people talk and some noise. Not a big problem, for worht mentionning […] for people who need a super quiet place to sleep late. The parking was full and the underground parking offers very narrow places. But it was nighttime and usually it is a valet parking so it is not a problem. The parking is free. The shower is great, the bed very comfortable. "Business trip to Quebec"
I had a conference in Quebec City at Université Laval and hotel ALT was one of the suggested hotels. It was close to Université Laval, but it was far from most of the attractions in Quebec City. "Not impressed"
I do travel quite a lot for business and leisure. I beleive that top tier hotels can only get high marks and true customer satisfaction in the level of details the pay attention to. Overall, my stay was just okay. Rooms are awesome, but two really annoying things happened. First, I liked the fact that this hotel provided outside free parking where […] I could get to my car without having to go through the valet service each time. When I got there, the restaurant adjacent to the hotel filled up the entire parking so none left for guests. Oh well, it happens. Second, when I woke up at 4:30 AM, I slipped in the complimentary bathrobe and wanted to enjoy a warm coffee using the in-room Keurig coffee machine before starting to work. At this hotel, they provide the machine but no in room Keurig K-Cups. You need to physically go to the front desk to either get already made free coffee or pay 2$ for each Kreurig K-cup to use the in-room machine. This ruined my morning. Picture this at 4:30AM, I had to get dressed up, take the elevator, buy my Kreurig K-cups at the front desk, take the elevator again, and get back to my room. Not really my idea of a relax and cosy morning. Details are everything and to remove in room coffee (to save money? common 1$ (50 cents a K-Cup)? is a very bad business decision from the management and give the impression of a cheap hotel. L'hôtel est bien situé et facilement accessible. Il est tout près du pont Pierre-Laporte. Le stationnement est sous-terrain, mais il est ouvert sur l'extérieur (donc non chauffé) et l'accès y est restreint par une guérite. Petit inconvénient: il faut passer par la réception pour obtenir une télécommande pour ouvrir la guérite. On devrait pouvoir l'ouvrir […] avec la même carte qui ouvre notre chambre.
