We enjoyed our stay. I didn't have more to say but the review application forced me to.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great room but Horrible customer service"
I liked the room and the check in rep was extremely helpful and pleasant. The room service rep were Also nice and pleasant. However my room would not get cleaned until the last day of stay. Also the hallways were extremely noisy with staff cleaning rooms and running their mouths. Also I definitely did not like the check out person that was completely […] rude, unprofessional. I asked Him for help with getting a taxi for me to the airport and his response was " go outside and start walking on the streets" to find a cab. He got annoyed when I asked him to call a number for me and kept pushing me off to another rep. He completely ruined the entire experience and I would not recommend that hotel to him. Service was horrible, stayed there for four days, they only clean our room on the first day. Then when mentioned to the front desk, not even an appology. Very disappointed.Genuine Expedia guest review
""Nice hotel and good price""
THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS VERY GOOD, IS CLOSE TO MOST OF THE ATTRACTIONS IN QUEBEC. ALSO THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for walking and nightlife!"
The hotel was in a great location to walk and see all of quebec. Located at the top of Grand Alle where all the restaurants and nightlife take place. In addition, it was a close walk to lower town and also St-Jean where one will find a little more local street. Cosmos restaurant on Grand Alle was great and but avoid the Spanish restaurant.Genuine Expedia guest review

great hotel, great service. A little outdated but probably one of the better hotels in quebec city. There are not many grand hotels in that area anyway. Rooms are fairly large.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, adequte accommodations"
The hotel had a great location and was very convenient to restaurants and the Old Town. The room was clean and mostly adequate, but somewhat outdated and in need of a refresh. Public areas were definitely worn and badly in need of update. For example, carpets in front of elevators and on stairs were worn and dirty. Also lobby WIFI access was very spotty. The […] staff was very nice. We had a problem with our bathroom one night and a plumber arrived to fix it 5 minutes after I called. There was an erroneous bar charge on our bill which was removed without question. I would recommend if you get a good price but don't expect 4-star accommodations. More accurately described by 3 stars. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Be Aware"
The only problem we encountered was on one week end nite, we had a terrible problem with drunken party girls running up and down the hall until 5am. My recommendation is never go there on the weekend. Stay with week days if you want to sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
The front desk person who checked us in was very discourteous and unhelpful. Also the WiFi service available in the lobby was not good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient & functional but not posh"
We liked: Room had comfortable beds, lots of pillows, & great water pressure in shower. Great location for touring Quebec on foot. Concierges very helpful. Rotating restaurant at the top has a view not to be missed. Pool was heated & kids loved swimming outside at night in early September. Not so much: The hot tub was small (like a residential model) […] & in a dingy room with no atmosphere--not even that hot. The food at the rooftop restaurant was fine but nothing special. The entire lobby area, halls, & rooms seemed worn & not at all "Loew's" caliber. Overall, not an extravagant getaway but very functional & good outweighed the bad. We took 3 kids & had adjoining rooms. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Solid but pricey"
Well located hotel but could benefit from upgrades to mattress and towels. Room was spacious, but couch had a burn hole and refrigerator wasn't cold enough. Hotel could benefit from having longer hours at its convenient store or offer in-room items such as bottles of water.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A wonderful place to stay."
We enjoyed the hotel. Its location was perfect and the service was excellent. It was elegant. We especially liked the pool and gym. The only negative was that it was not in the heart of the old city, so you didn't get that quaint, old Quebec feel. It had a modern American feel to it. We also did not like the restaurants close by, although we did not […] try the restaurant in the hotel. For a really good meal, try the Le Lapin Saute in the old part of town. "Don't book this hotel!!"
The hotel staff was unfriendly and cold. The rooms were in need of upgrading. Sure they have new furnishings but no vents in the bathroom? The air conditioner made terrible noises, the ceiling was cracked and repaired poorly. I also did not see fire sprinklers. They charged extra for EVERYTHING, ugh. I wouldn't recommend them, period.Genuine Expedia guest review
"business + mini stay"
A large hotel such as this should have a cafe to enjoy a cold drink/muffin or a cup of coffee. Also, if a dozen people are in the lobby all the chairs are gone. The small (average ) bar opens at 4:30 pm, again, no where for business people or vacationers to sit and read, talk or visit. The only restaurant is the 360 dining at the top with a wonderful […] view of the city. impressive for fine dining. Great location and walkable to Old Town Quebec. We were on the Convention Floor for a function of 250 people and they did a fab job with the food and the service. Great Convention Local. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location"
This hotel is within walking distance to the old city and all of the neighboring sights. The front desk, bellmen and especially the concierge Bernard are helpul and pleasant. "Dated, tired hotel but centrally located"
Although this hotel is located in a centralized, convenient, and safe area, just blocks away from the Citadelle and Old Quebec, the actual hotel is old and tired. The lobby, rooms, and entire building are completely dated and need to be drastically remodeled! Because of the condition of the hotel, we feel it DOES NOT DESERVE A 4-STAR RATING. Moreover, […] the bell men were very unfriendly in that when we said hello to them, they just ignored us; maybe, it's in the French's culture to be reserved and distant with strangers. Nonetheless, as guests, we expect to be greeted and not shunned. However, the concierge and check-in staff were friendly and helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Overall a nice hotel."
The hotel location was great. The staff were very accommodating. However, I expected a little more updated room. The bed linens were sub-par. Not even compared to what I would have expected. Most hotels of this rating have crisp linens and down comforter. The blanket was old and the sheet stained. The hotel was accommodating to replace the sheet. The […] room had been upgraded (TV, furniture), but the walls still had old wall paper and an old a/c unit. The restaurant was nice (view) and the food was decent, but the expense did not equal the quality. The was wonderful however. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"great hotel to make the most of Quebec City"
location location location the hotel is perfectly located to enjoy the party atmosphere of le grand alley and then walking distance from old town, while being very safe to walk even late in the night. the staff, they are excellent. very very friendly and helpful. they remember you by name and chat even if they are not at thier particular station and […] follow up to see if what they said was helpful and such. they really did make the stay at the hotel very nice. the hotel by itself is starting to look tired and might need a bit of an overhaul sometime, but the rooms are clean, the bed is very comfortable and the coffee pods are pretty good..:) overall, the hotel is functional and convenient, not the most romantic, with a great staff, and a perfect location. First stay at this hotel. At the rate we got via Hotels.com, we got to the counter to check in and they upgraded our room. "Nice place to stay, convenient, but expensive"
Our stay was early Sept 2011. This is a very nice hotel, the staff were friendly and spoke English and we had no problems. "Would stay at this hotel the next time we visit Quebec City, CA. Great location."
Our stay at the Lowes, was outstanding in every aspect. Location, ammenities and great service. We had an airconditioner that frooze up, but once there mechanic […] checked it out the front desk called and offered to move us and offered us a free drink in the bar area of the hotel. "Wonderful Quebec Hotel"
Very comfortable hotel, with many restaurant options down the street and a beautiful park next to it. Great view from our 25th floor room. A good selection of coffee and teas were available in the room, and they were restocked each afternoon. The only dissatisfying element, and ultimately it was comical, is that only 2 elevators were functioning out […] of a bank of four. The wait for one to arrive could be many minutes, and as a result, people would pack on to an elevator regardless if it was going the direction they needed or not with the expectation that eventually it would stop at their desired floor. The hotel was upgrading their elevators and this was the reason for the lack of availability. Other than that, the hotel met our needs quite well. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very Nice Hotel"
This is a nice hotel with large, clean, comfortable rooms and a friendly, helpful staff. Well located within walking distance of everything a tourist wants to see. Unfortunately, the elevators were under renovation and we had extremely long waits to get down to the lobby or up to our room. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.Genuine Expedia guest review
"20th wedding anniversary getaway - great experience!!"
Arrived at hotel, asked for a nice view on the phone a week earlier. Room was on 26th floor (top floor)! Beautiful view. Chilled champagne & chocolate dipped strawberries there to greet us - very nice! Walk into town - Old Quebec - very convenient - ate in town the first night (Cafe du Paris) - very nice but pricey - romantic with candlelit dinner by […] a lit fireplace - funny, personable staff. Walked the streets, went to museum via 'Second Cup' cafe in the morning. Ate at L'astral the next night - rotating restaurant on floor above our room. Ignore the negative reviews - this was great - people, food, and the VIEW were all awesome! Not rushed, very professional/funny staff - try the local beer. Pricey walking out the door, but ....it's very unique and worth every dime. Front Desk - If you meet Cesar at the front desk, take a minute and talk to him - very knowledgable and great conversationalist - we're American and he was a nice linqual catalyst for us. Also, they will exchange US dollars at the front desk, so avoid bank charges in the US. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
