Sandman Hotel Montreal-Longueuil

This hotel was great and affordable! The service was fantastic, everyone was very friendly. The hotel is actually located across the river from Montreal, so you are not within walking distance of anything. But it was a safe neighborhood and only a 5 minute drive downtown.

It's right across metro, which could get you to downtown area in 10 min. There is not much in the neighborhood though. Hotel is clean with good size rooms, but old renovation. You get what you pay for.

There is not much to see in the immediate area, but it is one short metro ride to the island with La Ronde, Biosphere, etc. It made it a fantastic visit to not have to deal with parking or carrying car keys on roller coasters. Hotel is located across the street from a metro station, so if you plan to use the metro it is a great choice. It is located along the river front, so an added bonus was that we got to watch a fireworks display from the parking lot. The staff was not very flexible - we arrived 5 minutes after the kitchen closed and could not get desert - and they do […] not have enough elevators. This may not seem like a big deal until you are competing with two bus loads of tourists for two elevators - it took 20 minutes to get to my room after getting the key and walking 11 flights of stairs with a stroller was not an option. The family enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the exercise room. Can't comment on the food quality as we were not able to get served, but the pricing for food and drinks was quite high. Driving into the city from here should normally be easy, but in our case there was construction on the bridge so it was a nightmare. Read more

My family and I stayed for 2 nights and were completely satisfied. The room was comfy and nice, the pool was warm and inviting and the restaurant was convienient and good food. We were also happy with the Metro being so close so we did not have to drive everywhere. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well.

We arrived at 2am and gentleman at counter said he didn't have enough Canadian Dollars to exchange. We spent about 40 minutes in the morning trying to find a place to exchange our US Dollars since the airport Exchange was closed when we arrived at 1am. In the morning, the woman at the front desk said she could exchange money when we asked for directions. […] WOW! I wish we would have known that sooner. Chose hotel for reasonable price, view of Montreal and location of Metro. Did not want to deal with hassle of driving and parking in Montreal and location is PERFECT for getting into city. 200 feet from Metro station! View of city lights great. Would recommend to anyone.

Rented a King suite with view to the river and to Montreal. As expected, the room and the service were both fantastic. We had a medium size suite with a king size bed, clean and comfortable. If you travel to Montréal by car, this hotel is perfectly easy out-of-the-city to drive to, right off the autoroute and next to the Métro subway station making getting in and out of downtown easy. The Sandman is directly adjacent to a metro station that is two stations from the heart of Montreal. While the hotel surroundings are blah, the subway access is fantastic. Yes - I did find the location convenient. The Metro is next door and will take you into town in minutes. (even if you have a car parking is expensive in town but free at the hotel and there is lots of traffic on the other side of the bridge). The Metro building has many restaurants (the ubiquitous Tim Horton et al for a quick inexpensive breakfast) […] and other types of shops but does not have a bank (use an ATM or exchange at a bank in town). There are a variety of metro discount tickets available - the info booth rep was very helpful. The hotel is in good condition but far from luxurious. A flat panel TV with better channel selection would add a lot. The in- room internet connection was fine. The room was average size with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a good size with a nice shower. . There is a pool and Sauna. You could do worse. Read more

This is RIGHT next to the Metro station. Very handy for getting around in Montreal. The room was clean, quiet and very adequate. Clerk at the desk was helpful. Not being that familiar with Montreal, the staff of The Sandman were all very helpful in suggesting not only way to navigate the city but suggestions on what to do and see. Again not being familiar with Montreal it was very convenient to have the Metro right outside the doors of The Sandman. Purchasing Metro passes was the way to go. I stayed at Sandman Hotel for a night and it was a very good experience. The room was very clean, location of the hotel is perfect and the staff were friendly as well. I have no complains and would stay here again during my next trip. I would recommend this hotel to others as well.

Hotel has perfect location just above Metro station. You really don't need a car when you can pay $8 for all-day ticket - my car was standing at the parking (free) all 3 days. We stayed 3 days and had a very good stay. The hotel is next to the metro making it very convenient but upon check-out my wife saw that we were sleeping next to cellular antennas attached to the building on the ninth floor which scared her.

This hotel was old. The shower handles were rusty and the grout on the tiles were pretty much gone.. The sheets were not too clean as I was itching every morning until i took a shower.. Although the Sandman Hotel is not in downtown Montreal, it is right next to a huge bus and metro terminal. It is extremely convenient to get around using that metro station and the staff there can direct you. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
