This hotel is nice, but take note that it is located in the old brownstone building with no elevator. This means you are lugging your suitcase up the steep narrow winding staircase all the way to the third floor. The rooms are nice, with all the basics, but heat is provided by hot-water pipes, so you can't control the temperature in the room. A good small hotel, a bit aged (faded carpet, wires stuck to the wall, not inside), but comfy. Good friendly service, a very decent breakfast and well worth the money, compared with what my colleagues paid elsewhere. If you don't mind the stairs up, go for it.

My only complaint is that I only stayed one night! This hotel is an old Victorian brownstone that's been renovated. The staff was extremely helpful and polite, and the hotel had all the charm reflected in the pictures. Make sure, if you bring a car, you reserve parking with the hotel in advance. This was not clear to me when I made the reservation. […] This hotel does not have its own lot, so a parking space needs to be reserved in advance for all guests who need one from a parking garage nearby. I lucked out, though - there was parking available on the street, so I could leave my car right out front for free. The room was adorable, and breakfast the next day provided a lot of great choices. I was here for two nights and had a nice, quiet stay. This appears to be a conversion from apartments or other housing. My room was reasonably large and the bathroom had a full shower/tub. Everything was clean and white. You must be able to climb stairs to stay here; a flight to get in the front door, another one or two to get to your room. Staff goes […] home at night and you’re given a key to the front door. Breakfast was continental: Several breads, a few fruits, yogurt, hard cooked eggs, coffee, juice. There were several restaurants within a short walk and McGill University is one block away. Can be accessed from the YUL airport by a $8 bus ride (bus #747) and a ten minute walk. Read more

Nice stay, relatively quiet, plentiful of nice towels, beware of stair to reach your room and yes there is no elevator. Free WiFi, ok to check email, although you need a Facebook account to use! As mention it a two start hotel...

A clean, safe, well located B&B. Rooms are modest but comfortable. No elevator lift, so you would be wise to reserve room on lower floor if you luggage is substantial. Stairs are only way up to rooms.

Manoir Ambrose is an excellent hotel in Downtown Montreal within walking distance of many major attractions, shopping options, public transportation, and restaurants. Nicely decorated, friendly staff, absolutely quiet and comfortable. I surely would stay there if in Montreal again and will recommend this place to anyone.

Das Hotel ist sehr nahe des Zentrums. Alles ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Auch die Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel wie U-Bahn und Expressbus zum Flughafen sind zu Fuß machbar. Das Frühstück ist liebevoll und für denjenigen, der gerne süß frühstückt, gut geeignet. Wer morgens Salziges wie Wurst, Käse, Rührei etc. braucht findet nicht so viel. Aber […] in der Umgebung gibt es viele Möglichkeiten etwas gutes zu Essen.
