"missed a beat"
this hotel is in a great location. the beds are very comfortable and the rooms lots of space. one of my days we called three times to get our room cleaned and on the last call @ 5:15pm I explained that we called the first time before noon. we were tired with jet lag and wanted to take a nap and didnt want to be distrubed but needed the room cleaned, […] shame it took all that effort, and no appology. had one meal in the restaurant, but they microwaved the rools so they were inedible, no refills on either water or soft drink at all. too bad, could have, should have been perfect. The Westin is ideally located in downtown, right next to the Old City. The hotel is beautiful; the rooms are well-kept, modern, large, and have effective wireless access, ideal beds, terrific showers, and a fine TV. The service is exceptional. The only downside, as I experienced it, is that the food options in the hotel are not ideal -- room service […] is overly expensive ($35 for breakfast is not unusual), the downstairs restaurant offers premium-priced, highly mediocre food, and there is not a mid-level alternative. That said, the hotel overall is terrific and there are a number of very good food options nearby. "Lovely spot but noisy"
We found Le Westin Montreal to be a good hotel in a great spot, but it was very noisy. Some noise is to be expected in a down town location, but there was a lot of noise inside the hotel. I stayed for a few nights at Sofitel Chain Bridge while travelling to Hungary for business and it was excellent. The service is excellent. Facilities are great. Rooms are great. I had a Luxury room but the front desk upgraded me to Executive Club Room with my Accor Gold Card, hence I enjoyed the views from the top floor and the access to Executive Club […] Lounge. The room was large and comfortable, excellent breakfast. If you have a Club room you enjoy your breakfast at the Executive Club Lounge which was great. Overall a great hotel. "Would Not Return"
Booked this hotel because of proximity to the Palais des Congres and "Old Montreal". Hotel Front Desk staff and Concierge were pleasant and accommodating. My main complaint with the hotel, and the reason I will not return, was the poor housekeeping. I stayed for 3 nights, and each day my room was not made up until late afternoon. I use the term "made […] up" , although this only refers to the bed being made and a new bar of soap added to the bathroom. The garbage cans were never emptied (overflowing after 3 nights there - I obviously could have called to have this done, but I was curious to see if the housekeeping staff would ever get around to it!). The towel and facecloth I had used each day were taken but not replaced. I did have to call on the third day so I would have a set to use on the morning before I left.
