"Just what I was looking for in a room"

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and check in was fast. It was freezing in Montreal while we were there - all negative temperatures and the room was always warm and toasty. The pool and fitness area were great. Our room was so quiet and we never heard any outside nosie. The refrigerator and microwave in room was really […] convenient as was the 24 hour pantry. We had a 2 queen bed room, but the beds were much harder than I would have liked. Loved the free wifi, but hated that we had to reconnect everytime we came back to the room. There were a number of restaurants and coffee shops in walking range and we were really close to the University and the underground. "Clean and quiet....good tourist location"
Generally, a nice place. We really liked the swimming pool and whirlpool tub. The room was surprisingly quiet, given the central location on a very busy/commercial street, and the subway (only one block away). Very nice shower and bath. The biggest "negative" was the climate control system. The room comes with a thermostat, but no other control. SO, […] when the room is warm, you can't quickly cool it...and vice versa. Eventually, the temperature moves toward the setting you choose--but it takes quite a while, compared to a room with an individual heating/cooling units. The restaraunt was good--nice food, but a little expensive. "Not Hilton Quality"
We were a bit disappointed with this stay. This is the 4th time we are staying at this hotel and expected similar service as we had experienced the last 3 times. The room we stayed in was right by the elevator & ice machine and unfortunately had half a window (the rest of the wall looking to the outside was a blank wall). We had requested a room overlooking […] Sherbrooke Street - the purpose of this is to look outside, which we couldn't really do this time. The beds seemed very hard. The worst part was that during our 3 day stay, we didn't receive complimentary shampoo and conditioner daily and I had to request this at the front desk. When I did, a Dimitri laughed -- I was a bit offended at this, considering that Hilton has a reputation to uphold. Hotel was clean and polite. They do make you pay for any extras though. Our toiletry bag was lost in transit for a day and we were offered tooth brushes by the hotel from their mini store. But we would have to pay for them. Nice that they had some but many hotels will just give these to you to help you out. I chose this hotel because of the location, sale price, and most importantly because they have a secure parking garage for their customers only. Being in the downtown area I did not want to park in an outside lot. My son is attending a summer college program here and we were caring a van full of his belongings. To use the garage and the elevators in the hotel you use your door key. It was wonderful. We only had breakfast at the restaurant, twice, and it was very good. For 16.95 you can get a hot and cold buffet. For 11.95 you can get different types of eggs, breakfast meats and toast. It was an attractive restaurant. The hotel was very clean and appealing throughout. The staff was young, professional, polite, and pleasant. The waitress we had for our two breakfasts was lovely. I ordered a breakfast to go the second day while my husband and I eat our meal there and the waitress had everything ready to go. She was perfect!
