Hotel Le Crystal Montreal

Overall this is a great hotel. Very easy check-in. Friendly customer service oriented staff. Very clean rooms. However I found the layout of our room a bit off. We chose to stay here based on the square footage- larger than other hotels we considered, as we were travelling with two children. Due to the layout design, the room felt very tight. There […] is a long, narrow corridor/ living area maybe 7-8 feet wide with a pullout sofa . The bedroom was very beautiful, but a small. In all, I had wished they designed their rooms to be open space, not seperate bedroom and living space area. You would have more feeling of the 495 sf. space. They did make good use of their space however with clever storage, etc. They furnishings were very nice and comfortable and the room felt very clean. They bathroom was also very nice, generously sized and well lit. Ultimately, we had chosen this hotel for the pool, which was very well maintainted and featured an outdoor hottub--- which we enjoyed in the snow. There was a great view of the city here, too. The restaurant is also very good. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Very clean with good amenitites and good location, which to me is the most important. Read more

Good location, nice room. My only complaint is that I expected the suite to be slightly bigger. The bathroom was disproportionately large compared with the room. Otherwise, it was a very nice hotel. The indoor pool is also very nice and kid friendly.

There were a couple of things I was disappointed with. I thought I was going to have a bathtub with my room and was looking forward to that. The only other complaint I would have would have to do with the fact that I had to be woken up by being phoned to let me know that room service was there with my coffee one of the mornings I was there and the […] room service attendant did not look too happy. Understandable since I had said I wanted it delivered at a certain time and I was not up when he came and knocked on the door so it was an inconvenience for the poor guy, and he was clearly not happy about it. Also, my view was nothing special-building walls. For me, it was okay as there was a YWCA playground and I love the sound of children playing and if I happened to be in my room at the time they were out I enjoyed that and seeing them all bundled up-adorable. But, the view definitely did not go with the chic style of the room and other visitors might not like it. The staff was especially friendly and helpful. And the room was perfectly cleaned. The bed was fabulous!!! Once the light was out, so was I. Incredible bed. I want it for my own! Only thing I did not care about was the TV since I don't really watch it at home. And although I was disappointed at not having a bathtub, I loved the shower. All in all, I thought it was great. Read more

This was our second time at the Hotel Le Crystal and I will stay there every time I return to Montreal. We love it! The outdoor jacuzzi in the winter is my absolute favorite and now they have this new iPhone App that lets you look up surrounding restaurants and attractions.

This hotel was a disappointment for a 5 star hotel. The comfort of the bed was awful. We did not get a decent night's sleep . The bed was terrible. The refrigerator did not work and we had to insist on a replacement at 10 pm rather then the hotel taking the initiative and changing it. We had to ask for basic items like mouthwash that should automatically […] be replaced. The staff was pleasant but not helpful in directing us to quality restaurants in the area. We were impressed by the courteous staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and overall luxurious surroundings. It was a pleasure to exercise on the top floor with the most beautiful view of Montreal. The swimming pool and sauna were light and airy and family friendly.

Chose this place solely based on user reviews, and was disappointed. This is not a 5 start hotel, even 4 stars is pushing it. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. We upgraded to a superior suite to have more space. The suite was basically a normal sized room that was partitioned off to create a bedroom, so the bedroom actually has no windows but […] an opening to the living area. The room was barely large enough to walk around the bed, around 2-3 ft between bed and the wall on all sides. We wanted to place a baby crib next to the bed but the room is so small we couldn't even get the crib in the room. The lobby is also very small, no cafes or anything in the lobby. The decoration is nothing like the W or similar hotels as one reviewer had stated. The location is great, one block to downtown shopping and 1.5 blocks to the metro. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is located next to an express bus stop to and from the airport. Bixi stations are nearby for easy access to bikes. A short walk to St Catherine Street and the underground.

The furnishings and decorations were very nice and chic. Our first room (which we turned down) did not have a separate bedroom so I called the front desk and within 3 minutes Sophie was there to lead us to a more spacious room. The bathroom was very large and I love the shower head so much that I want to install one in my master suite. The tangerines […] in the morning were a nice touch as we headed off to walk the streets of Montreal. My son enjoyed two nights using the pool, sauna, and whirlpool. The computers were always available and in working condition. Even the cleaning lady was very hospitable and made sure we had fresh supplies of bathroom products such as shampoo, etc. every day. I highly recommend the grayline bus tour to Québec City which lasts all day; it is very informative and you will learn a lot of interesting historical facts. I guess the only area where i would suggest improvement was La Coupole. We ate one dinner there and i found it rather overpriced for the portion sizes. I had a $35 filet mignon dinner which while tender had no real flavor. There was a small piece of bok choy and a few potato fingerlings and three stems of asparagus – no salad and no baked potato like you would probably get at a Texas restaurant for less money. The service was good but I was slightly hungry an hour later! We shall return to this hotel if we ever get back up to Montreal. Read more

The room wasn't quite ready for us when we got there, but we were offered a complementary drink at the bar, allowing us to take in the beautiful lobby. I took a one-night stay at this hotel in my hometown to take advantage of an Expedia coupon. For visitors (especially English-speaking customers), the hotel is located one minute walking distance away from the night life scene of Crescent St (English-speaking crowd) and close to all the shops on Ste Catherine St. Can't beat the luxury + convenience […] of that. Also fairly close to the many nature paths on Mont Royal for those interested in morning jogs. Spa and pool section on 12th floor have a beautiful terrasse with nice views of Mont Royal. Spa services were fine and I was able to book last minute. Only hiccup was an interrupting and poor quality wireless connection in my room, but they made that up by offering me free breakfast when I pointed the problem out at check out... so great service! This hotel is brand new and immaculate. Very helpful staff and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Very close to shopping and entertainment. This beautiful and charming hotel exceeded our hopes for a romantic weekend getaway. The staff was wonderful and the lobby began to set the standard for excellence this hotel offered.
