"Lux Hotel - Void of Lux"
Upon arrival the lobby gives a good first impression... the staff not so much. When checking in, the guy working the night shift asked if I would be valeting my car, I said no I am here for the weekend and would prefer to park it in a nearby garage. His reaction was BEYOND nasty, full blown snob face and attitude while stating "Well I don't know where […] you're gonna find a garage..." Well let me tell you where you can find a garage... 2 blocks away that cost me $20 for THREE days and nights... So... I'm sorry you couldn't sell me your overpriced valet service at $35 a day... I'm not afraid to spend $$ but I'm not stupid about it... As for the room... my first smell when exiting the elevator on the second floor was mold/mildew... My room was OK. The bed was extremely comfortable. But the entire room was covered in dust. The desk, the walls, the nightstands... everything. The walls were filthy with marks too, especially in the bathroom. Previous reviews about the housekeeping entering your room without knocking are completely true. It happened twice during my stay. In conclusion... Location was great. Bed was great. Service was not. Overall room was not. Wouldn't stay here again when there are so many other wonderful hotels in the surrounding area... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No recommended unless under 30 years old"
Far too noisy for this level of hotel, not made aware of parking fee, $15 for internet per day is ridiculous.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Less than impressed"
We were very excited to be staying at a cute boutique hotel in Montreal until we actually got there. The lobby and restaurant are beautifully decorated, but the welcoming staff and check-in personnel were less than welcoming and did not seem to have very much information about their surrounding neighborhood in terms of highlights for entertainment and […] dining. The rooms were poorly maintained with paint peeling from the walls as the doors would rub against them, denuding the paint. The room was not cleaned the next day as we were told that we should have asked for them to be cleaned. However, there was nothing to inform us on how we should have asked. A sign, a phone call? The rooms were dark and poorly lit. Hard to see at night. All in all, Montreal is a beautiful city but I would not go back to this hotel and would not suggest that anyone go. I don't see how they earned their 4 star rating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is a decent hotel. It tries to be more upscale than it actually is. The rooms need some upgrading (ie loud air con units and old drapes-curtains that don't close and carpeting that need to be replaced). Overall it was just okay. Good location. I you don't have a lot of time to look for a hotel it will do, but if you have time time to devote […] to looking then I am sure you can find something better. "great design...nice staff"
The hotel interior looks good. with careful, modern design and a chic environment. The two issues though are very poor lighting in the bedrooms: so dark impossible to read a book comfortably even when an extra light unit requested and installed. Even difficult to find objects in the room it is so gloomy. The restaurant/ breakfast area is very cold and […] needs better heating. otherwise a very pleasant hotel with great staff. "Will Definitely Re-visit"
Very charming staff, very clean hotel. Since the hotel is classified amongst the modern hotels, I would highly recommend that they maintain the room, there were lots of scratches and dents in the furniture and around the wash room doors. The washroom sink was dripping from the bottom. It will be nice to see those things taken care in our next stay. Self-parking […] is what I loved the most. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The Montreal Opus: Take the good with the bad!!"
The Opus in Vancouver is great. So, we tried the one in Montreal. The staff are very good & friendly. The lobby is very nice, free Internet, drop off valet service is great. The morning breakfast is very good. The disappointing part was the rooms and bathrooms. We were extremely disappointing with the paint chipped walls, poorly finished bathroom, very […] noisy room at night as there is a club on the ground floor. Lots of loud people, sirens, brawls, etc clearly audible until very early ours of the morning. This is not what I expected from the Montreal location as I associated the name with the beautiful hotel that I know in Vancouver!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
overall quite ok but very noisy neighbourhood at nightGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Over priced for what you get"
Room showed wear from carpet worn through, door handles not screwed in, and questionable stains on the curtains. Club music could be heard past 3am in the room. The room is a good size, nice modern decor and the bed was very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
The servers at breakfast were charming. The manager was really great and moved us into a junior suite when we were concerned that their nightclub was too close to our room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A mixed experience."
The hotel was very central and there was a free drop off service to restaurants etc., which was a bonus. The front desk staff were pleasant and the doormen couldn't have been nicer. We were also given coupons for a free drink in the bar. Good security system. On the negative side, our room overlooked Sherbrook and the noise from traffic kept wakening […] us during the night. Our room was poorly serviced. There was no information about the hotel itself, other than a menu; our used wine glasses were not replaced after the first night, nor were shower essentials. "Hotel was ok"
Normally we stay at a Hilton but they where booked solid. Pros The staff was extremely nice but not all that knowledgeable about the area around Montreal The room was clean Cons The rooms where very dark and small A 20 minute walk from old Montreal No Self Parking No bath tub The elevator's where a pain in the butt to work No swimming pool, and we […] could not find the exercise room. "Fun neighbourhood"
The room was a little run down, but comfortable. Not what I would have expected for a four star hotel. The staff were fabulous though and very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Opus Montreal -don't order room service food"
Room is comfortable and clean but the room service food is horrible. There is no spa and there and nothing is close to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Opus Montreal"
Hotel is looking really worn out. Cornering St Laurent and Sherbrooke, this hotel is in a great location, but really loud street noise and worn out out looking rooms make this hotel a second choice. I'd only recommend this hotel if you get a great deal on the room. 3 years ago, this place was great...now it's simply average, and over priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"20s-something party hotel"
With good past reviews from friends and write-ups on the hotel I looked forward to our stay at the Opus hotel in Montreal. Upon arrival, first impressions are a luxury chic urban hotel in a great neighborhood. We were there over a weekend and the surpise came when the disco attached to the hotel kept the music and party blaring to 3 AM Sat night and […] after 11 PM Sunday night. It totally transforms into a loud 20-something party-place on weekends. Smaller peeves: we slept in due to the late noise... and after being out for a few hours in the afternoon had to call to have our room cleaned. There was only one robe in the room. While it's trying to be glamerous it just didn't cut if for the price point. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Unsatisfactory housekeeping"
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Beautiful hotel, front desk, valet etc, very efficient and polite. The room was small but very well appointed, the bed was super comfortable. I loved the location, close to everything, a little noisy, but as we were out every night, it wasn't a concern. Our only issue was housekeeping. We left for […] a few hours the first day only to return and find that our room was not made up. I called front desk to ask that it be made up, no one came until 7:00 pm. At that point we were going to take a quick nap and get ready to go out, so we just asked for toilet paper etc. The following day we left for the afternoon, the housekeeping staff was on our floor cleaning the rooms beside us. When we returned our room had not been made up, again. Didn't bother to call front desk, just made the bed myself. They came by again around 7:00pm. To sum up, our room was not made up for the 3 nights we were there. I think this is a really nice and fun hotel, but I really don't understand why their housekeeping was so lax, since all other departments were so professional. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not for a family"
The location is great and the hotel is very cool however, the room we were given had a window looking onto the 3rd floor outdoor patio, which meant that we were subjected to the very loud club music which began at midnight and continued until 3 a.m. Only valet parking is available. It would be a great hotel for young singles, not for a family.Genuine Expedia guest review
"There are better choices"
It's overpriced for what it is, prefer place d'arms for experience or chains for valueGenuine Hotels.com guest review
