Locally owned and operated, Hotel Nelligan is a boutique hotel created from 2 Old Montreal buildings and lies within 1 block of the St. Lawrence River, Old Port, and Notre Dame Basilica.
Hotel Features.
Trimmed in dark wood and divided into 3 spaces, the lobby establishes the contemporary, informal ambience that attracts discriminating business and leisure travelers here. A rooftop terrace provides an additional area to relax in. Complimentary wired Internet access is provided. Complimentary shuttles operate to downtown attractions daily from morning to night. The Verses Restaurant offers contemporary French cuisine; it's open for breakfast and dinner daily, and lunch Monday to Friday. Large windows open onto the street in warm weather. The hotel is non-smoking.
A fully equipped conference room is available to ensure meetings or functions are a success. To cater to the needs of the business traveler, Hotel Nelligan has a business center. After a long day of sightseeing or meetings, guests can treat themselves to a pampering massage or work out in the fitness facility.

The Hotel Nelligan's elegant guestrooms are furnished with platform beds decorated with wood-and-wrought-iron headboards and dressed with triple sheeting, 5 down pillows per bed, and white down comforters. Frette Italian terry-cloth bathrobes and slippers supply lounging comfort. Turndown service is available upon request. Other thoughtful room amenities include cable television with premium channels, CD players, desks, in-room safes, Internet access, and private bathrooms with designer toiletries and hair dryers.

She gave us wonderful recommendations for dinner every night and also Saturday brunch. Staff was extremely helpful. Rooms are very nice with exposed brick and stone. Back rooms are quiet where I can see atrium rooms could be noisy. Work out room is average. Location is perfect. "Lovely but couldn't sleep"
The biggest drawback, and the one that keeps me from recommending Hotel Nelligan, is that many rooms face the street, and street noise is loud and long on weekends. The hotel faces a bar, and people hang out in front after closing at 3 am, laughing and shouting. When we checked out (after a two-night stay), we were told they sometimes ask the bar owner […] to try to keep the noise down. Uh, ok. I understand that it's not their fault, but if they're interested in repeat business, the hotel mgmt should step up more. At the very least, guests should be given the choice of interior rooms and/or told the outside rooms are noisy and offered white noise machines. Room was incredibly dark; it was impossible to read. Blinds were filthy with webs and towels were paper thin. Our room was on the interior side, supposedly quiet, but all night long there was recycling of bottles. It sounded like someone was unloading a liquor store! This is one of the most comfortable hotels I have ever stayed. Everyone went out of the way to make us feel welcome. We arrived in a wicked snowstorm, way early for our check-in time. How wonderful to fnd that our room was ready for us. The cocktail coupon was greatly appreciated. Chocolates and extra towels delivered to the room each evening was a […] treat. The staff was WONDERFUL! When we arrived at the airport, I called to ask about getting to the hotel, and the concierge was very helpful. Once at the hotel, the same person was ready and waiting for us. This hotel did not disappoint! The reviews were consistently very good, and it had a nice write-up in Conde Nast Traveler as well, so we had high expectations- and we couldn't have been happier. Rue St […] Paul is the oldest street in Montreal and is loaded with great places to eat (Olives and Gourmando - great little breakfast/lunch place down the street)and shop - clothes/art/etc. Science and Archaeology museums are literally around the corner. there was a bit of a noise factor if your room is facing the street, but it is on a popular street after all, and was within reason. Hang around on the spectacular, though perhaps a bit cramped, terrasse on the roof when it isn't raining, and you'll understand why this hotel has become such a mainstay. My one gripe: no pool.
