They were quick to help with any requests including calling taxis - even directions to nearby currency exchange bureaus with lower rates than the hotel offered! Attentive wait staff never let the coffee cup get empty unless asked & made sure there was plenty of fresh fruit; all for a reasonable price. Went to Montreal for Lasik eye surgery. The hotel was half a block from the Lasik building office. Very convenient for restaurants and shopping..again, half a block in the opposite direction.. It's cheap compared to the hotels around it. It's also pretty clean and the rooms are nice. The service was so-so, but I usually don't care about service. One problem encountered was that the maximum temperature of the water wasn't very hot and that kinda bummed me out because I wanted to take a relaxing bath.

This hotel is soooo close to everything...the clubs, the malls, the metro station, everything! The outside of the hotel looks really ghetto but the inside is clean and nice. All in all my wife and I were satisfied with our long weekend stay...great location. The location is only about 6 blocks from the central station. Certainly not the amenities of the Queen Elizabeth...but not the cost either. Only disconcerting note, a midnight fire alarm, (laundry dryer lint fire issue), no individual room call (aka reverse 911 call). […] We're heavy sleepers and slept through the first alarm. I didn't have a problem but a tall or wide person would definitely have an issue! The toilet bowl is almost on top of the tub. It was in a great location. We could walk to everywhere. On the first day, we walked to Notre-Dame and the old Montreal. Later, we found a Pixi Station was just at the corner of Drummond and St. Catherine O. so we used Pixi to everywhere after wards. Very convenient! The walls at the hotel are extremely thin. We can hear everyone's conversation loud […] and clear from the hallway or from the room. The hotel is in a very central area in Down Town Montreal, very fast I could get to the subway, the room was a little small but very clean, the young lady at the front desk was extremely friendly as well as the entire hotel staff, the bed was very comfortable and I slept very quiet, definitely I would return to stay in this hotel.

Ideally located only four blocks from the railway station, but in the snow and ice of winter and if using the train then another hotel would be better, especially with baggage. Hotel was quiet. Elevator a little slow. Breakfast in the restaurant was efficient and good quality. Would stay again.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Europa! You can easily get to the hotel from Trudeau airport via the 747 Express bus. The hotel is located just one block away from Rue St. Catherine, which has lots of shops and eateries. The Bell Centre is also just a short walk away if you are attending an event there. The lobby is a bit dated, but was clean […] and welcoming. The elevators are extremely small, and can only hold about 3-4 people comfortably. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our guest room (a standard Queen) was somewhat small, but comfortable. Free wi-fi was available throughout the hotel, with strong signals on the upper floors. The on-site restaurant, Chez Cora, is a fantastic (and low cost) breakfast/lunch spot with healthy choices that will please all diners. If I return to Montreal again in the future, I would definitely stay here again! Read more

THis hotel is right off St. Catherine- where all the shopping is! Cons are definitely that the rooms are a little small. But the sheets and bed linens were just fine. The hotel is definitely an older hotel, but not bad for the price. Parking is the biggest problem- $20 overnight and $10 if you come and go during the day. The attendant is not very accomadating, […] either. If possible, try to find street parking overnight and just pay the meters in the morning. Rooms are small but comfortable. You have to walk around the corner to use the Fitness club. The restaurant, Chez Cora, has great breakfasts at very reasonable prices. Not many amenities but you don't need them in Montreal.

This hotel is centrally located to everything we wanted to see. Its really close to the metro and you could walk to Old Montreal and a lot of museums. Didn't try the breakfast place in the hotel, it didn't look to appealing, but the lounge was very nice and the bartender was friendly. The room was fine, no view but comfortable, clean and fairly spacious. […] My only complaint is the attitude of the staff. They were not rude but far from friendly and welcoming. This is a theme in Montreal. Do not expect warm and friendly people. At first I thought it was because I was American and spoke only a little french but they had the same attitude with my Italian girlfriend.
