Located in the heart of the city, the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure is a penthouse-style hotel within the top floors of the 17-story Place Bonaventure business and shopping complex. An elevator ride from the hotel's lobby connects with Montreal's ever expanding underground city where one can go shopping in elegant boutiques, visit the theatre district and art galleries, or attend an exciting sporting event. The hotel is located nine miles from Dorval Airport.
Built for the 1967 World's Fair, this Hilton hotel has a large lobby with bar, restaurant, and conference rooms opening onto a rambling rooftop garden. The garden has a stream, waterfalls, trees, paths, and groups of resident ducks, all reminiscent of Québec's Bonaventure River. The outdoor swimming pool is open all year and is supervised by a lifeguard. An on-site health club offers cardio machines and free weights. Wireless internet is free in public areas.
Guestrooms at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure feature mahogany furnishings, marble bathrooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the rooftop garden or Montreal skyline. "Clean hotel near to train station, key sites"
We stayed at hotel for 3 days and found its location to be ideal. Walking distance to China town, but also just above the Bonaventure Train station. Easy to navigate, the hotel has a nice surprise - a garden, pond oasis -perfect for relaxing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location; Friendly Staff; Good Choice"
I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Montreal. It is located downtown within walking distance from entertainment and several dining options. We walked to the museum, to our tour meet up location, old Montreal, and several other locations. It was great! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They addressed all of our needs. […] The concierge gave great dining recommendations. The only complaint I would have about this hotel was that the pool was smaller than I expected. The weather was great on our stay so many hotel guests were lounging by the pool. As a result it was a little crowded. Overall we were very pleased with our experience at this hotel. "Nice hotel, close to subway and main shopping area"
Was there for a week, but had to register all my devices every morning to renew my wifi connection. For a family of 4 with 4 iphones, an iPad, and 2 Macbook Airs this was a very bad way to start my morning. Can they not check what is your total length of stay, and allow you to register for the duration? Also, the outdoor pool is in full view of the […] reception. I was there for a conference and did not like all my fellow workers seeing me in my swimsuit while checking in. Could they not provide some privacy, e.g. by adding some plants? "Long Weekend Stay in Montreal"
Nice corporate hotel and nice location close to all the shopping on St. Catherine street. In all honesty though the hotel is not worth the extra $30-50 USD from the other main corporate hotel chain very close by. The pool area (which looks very appealing and nice in the pictures) is not that big and too overcrowded during the summer peak season (July). […] Yes I am stating the obvious, but if you were simply booking this hotel because of the nice pool, save your funds, there is not enough space as too many guests and their belongings take up the space around the pool even if they are not swimming. Lastly the hotel lobby is actually on the tenth floor - not the ground floor - you need to take an elevator up to the top to check in. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Rooftop garden surprise!"
Good hotel, conveniently located at subway staton. Lush Garden and swimming pool 15 floors above the city. Late 70-ies look with bare concrete walls and ceilings, but nicely decorated, luxurious and clean. Friendly staff, but hotel parking seriously over-priced!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location directly across the Metro."
Wonderful hotel, with great services . However the room looked a bit tired it needed a serious face lift, and the bath tub drainage was bad even after notifying the desk. The hotel itself is immaculate and beautiful, but the entrance was stifling hot. But all of this is balanced with the strategic location of the hotel. Overall, we had a great time […] after all we were there to sleep, rest and take showers. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"great place to stay if going to the bell centre"
the hotel has a great location, with easy access to everything. Outdoor pool in winter is a lot of fun and a huge draw. Everyone working there was courteous and professionalGenuine Expedia guest review

"Within walking-distance to all the sights"
Enjoyed out stay at the hotel. The room was spacious and clean and the hotel staff courteous. Breakfast at the hotel was quite expensive, and we went to look for cheaper breakfast options in the central train station across the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The wait for the elevator was not acceptable. I'm not sure if there was only one elevator in service however the line up to get one was at least 10 - 15 minutes long. We did use the stairs, however it is 10 flights and would not be good going up or down with luggage. Other than that, the hotel was nice and in a great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Spot for Montreal"
Really nice hotel with a nice pool on the roof. The hotel itself was gorgeous and in pristine condition. The beds and pillows were so comfortable I didn't want to leave! The hotel is right in the middle of montreal and easy walking distances from everything! The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. Great stay all around!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"College kids going out in Montreal should read"
Pool is amazing, great for students and young people to meet before going out. Pool bar is expensive but a nice place to get a frozen drink to sit by the pool with. The location of the hotel is convienient, in between crescent street and st. Laurent street, the 2 best areas to go out. The room was small but fairly comfortable, but the price of the hotel […] is worth the rooftop pool. Recommend for college kids. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We were surprised at the low views from our room. It does not feel or look like you are actually on the 22nd floor. The pool location & services were great! We were especially pleased that we booked at the Executive level. That is a big plus & reason to return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel and great time"
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The pool was gorgeous and we spent two beautiful days there. This hotel I realized was very close to Old Port or Old Montreal and only a couple blocks away from Saint Catherine St (shopping and entertainment central) If you like to go out it is a little far away from St Laurent you will need to cab it. Enjoyed everything […] about the hotel. The staff was very nice and cordial. Hotel was very clean which is very important to me. Had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay there again. "Short walk to Bell Centre"
The most unique offering of the Bonaventure is it's rooftop pool and surrounding nature area. Walking paths, babbling brooks (with ducks) and full size trees and other plantings, all on the roof. Amazing. Relaxing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, superb location. Great times."
I know where I'll be staying next time I visit Montreal. My gf and I had a great experience at the Hilton. Worst feature--no vending machine or relatively close (within 3 mins of room) outside snack options after 7pm when the souvi shop closes. But with a MCD, subway, grocery store, numerous random shops immediately downstairs, you'll be fine. Best […] feature, close proximity to EVERYTHING. EASY access to the incredible underground network of shops, train stations, and things to do. The temp outside was 0 degrees F and I was in a sweater, shorts, and flip flops strolling through the huge malls, sitting at bars watching nfl playoffs, and so much more. one train stop (or short underground walk) to old montreal, 3 train stops to the village...i live in NY so i know just a bit about location and the hilton--awesome. Definitely book. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"real nice place to stay"
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, genuinely nice personnel at all levels, comfortable room, easy to get around Montreal neighborhood. Good food, no complaints. Would recommend staying there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
good location, amentiesGenuine Expedia guest review
Since we first stayed at the Bonaventure over 40 years ago when it was new, we are familar with it. The hotel occupies the top 2-3 floors of an office tower. it has a large central pool and beautiful surrounding landscaping (don'y miss a walk around). The rooms are standard Hilton and a bit aged. The staff is also standard Hilton - good, but not great. […] If you have to be in downtown Montreal, it is worth considering, particularly when you can take advantage of the outdoor pool. "It has excellent quality, except the customers!"
Everything was fine. However, there was very noisy arround 12:00 midnight in the aisel outside the room. Two young children and their parents yelled and laughed very loudly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice stay in Montreal"
Very nice hotel, clean, good amenities, friendly bi-lingual staff, located on top of the underground and a 3-minute walk to the Bonaventure Metro stop. Very honeymoon friendly too!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Problems for Disabled"
We were delighted with most aspects of the hotel. However, we were much dismayed by the difficulties for those with perambulatory difficulties. (My wife has to use a walker.) Access to our room by labelling was long and arduous, only to arrive at steps down towards the swimming pool to get to our room (1446). Fortunately a gentleman performing room […] service told us of the very long way to an elevator down, followed by another long walk. Few of your short stairways have ramps and those that are there do not meet code. Unfortunately, access difficulties precluded use of the swimming pool, which was very disappointing. (I never asked about disabled access to our room as I've never before encountered a hotel where access to the floor level was not by elevator.) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Service Ever!"
I arrived late (almost midnight) and had injured my knee, so asked to be moved to a room closer to the elevator. The front desk clerk was extremely helpful & understanding and gave me a room literally 3 feet from the elevator -then sent someone up with two bags of ice for my knee! Truly above & beyond what I was expecting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Thank you for posting such a fantastic comment about our hotel! We hope that your knee is much better now. Come back soon!

"Great hotel in the city centre. Awesome pool!"
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Many people complain about the design but i liked it and I loved all the amenities that were offered. Lovely hotel in a good location. The rooftop setting is a clever design that makes you feel like you're in a lush resort , very relaxing.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Thank you for such a nice review. Our rooftop pool and gardens are the hotel best features and we are happy to learn that you appreciated them. It is even more magical during the winter. We hope to see you again soon.
The hotel was an experience in itself. The roof top pool was very nice, and the roof top gardens amazing. The bed was comfy, and we were there for 3 nights so that was a real bonus. Having the metro right underneath was very convenient. The only down side was the members restaurant that severed delicious looking food that we could not access lol.Genuine Expedia guest review

"First impression terrible front desk guy not nice"
First impression was terrible, man at front desk not nice asked me well what r u doing because I hadn't said I was checking in yet. I came in in a tank top and shorts so he probably thought I wasn't high class enough for the Hilton or something. I am a deep sleeper so it didn't bother me but if u weren't a deep sleeper in my room it sounded like a washing […] machine running thrust the night, must have been by the wash room. Pros: gorgious hotel, walking distance to everything nice pool and very helpful staff Cons:Our suite was not as big as expected from a suite and the price they ask for Had to pay for any kind of TV in the roomGenuine Expedia guest review
Its a convenient walk across the street from the train station with just 4 minute walk along some historical buildings to St.Catherine St. Staff are very accommodating from front desk, room service, dining lounge to door man! Very nice and clean, close to downtown and the bell center. Still abit pricey compared to the other hotels. No free internet in your room, and the things that they said that were in the room were not there ex: game console, ipod dock clock radio and various other things.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a great hotel. It was a bit steep because I was up front about three people staying so they added an extra person charge. Other than that it was great. Very clean and classy throughout. The location is awesome if you're planning on getting around the city - just a few minutes underground (awesome in the winter) to the main train station and […] subway.
