We only spent one night - then we found out the the Hotel was closing. You would think that the service might be not so good and people with bad attitudes, etc. My wife and I found just the opposite. What a great place! We had a *beautiful* comfortable room and the staff were really helpful. It's one block away from the street with all the terraced restaurants, and an easy walk up to Mt Royal, down to the old city, or over to the Latin Quarter. No complaints! :)

Location of hotel was nice. Easy to get to sites. Only problem in the room was the noise from the pool area on the roof. You could hear theing moving around.

Great hotel, the staff were very friendly and very helpful. Only annoying thing was the people coming up to the club/pool in the terrace, because they take up the elevators for those who actually pay for a room at the hotel, other than that very satisfied.

This hotel has two of the hottest places for locals and tourists to visit right inside and a rooftop pool bar that if you are young can be a great place to hang in the summer. There was always a line at the elevator to reach the top floor but the security and other staff seemed to recognize guests (at least us) and we always bumped the line. We chose this establishment because of its rustic charm and proximity to downtown Montreal. It is in an area with many clubs and restaurants which contribute to the ambiance, both the good and, well, noisy. The smell of food being cooked permeated our room( we changed rooms half way through our stay). The decor varies by floor, and overall is pleasing, but somewhat dated, as is the lobby. Having said that, the theme of the hotel dates to the Beaux Arts era. The furniture and fixtures are ok, but our first room had a so-so shower head. Location is great, rear of hotel backs to Crescent St and all of the nightlife spots. Balcony had no furnishings so had no useful function. Room was dimly lit. TV channel selection of English programs good, but TV itself older tube type in 420p. Bathroom was huge, but they installed a border tile and felt the need to color the white grout with a […] magic marker. Overall the bathroom was ok, but formica counters and cheap fixtures did not fit the all marble decor. Room cleanliness was fair. Mirrors had dirt on them, sink needed to be scrubbed and lights were dusty. HOWEVER the air conditioner was LOUD, so loud it was impossible to watch TV when it ran. Think of chopping ice in a blender to get a feel for the volume the A/C. The location is great and the price was cheap. You are right on the shopping street of St. Catherine. You have the pubs and restaurants on the next block. Three blocks away on Peel you can hop the Metro or enter the underground city. If you are fussy this is no the place for you. If you want a great location at a great price, you have to give something up I suppose. Overall it was good with potential to be great if the aforementioned issues were resolved. Read more

Great location, good price, very clean, however the staff are not very friendly. The bar on the 20th floor and the bar on the first floor attracts a lot of drunk, rude people. Do not book a room adjacent to the staircase, you will be awakened several times during the early morning hours by drunk patrons running down the stairs, and banging doors. We liked the location of the hotel but the overall establishment seemed dodgy due to the company attending the patio and upper deck area. We often had to wait at the elevator with people who were going to the 20th floor and would cut in line in front of us while we tried to get to our room on the 8th floor. Hotel is right in heart of downtown Montreal for the shopping, restaurants and night life. It is getting a little tired looking but is clean and well kept. The staff are accomodating and friendly but don't go out of their way. Overall a great place to stay if you want downtown Montreal.

This hotel is perfect for a get away in Montreal, Location is excellent right in the heart of everything and within a 8 minute walk to the Bell Centre. Must have a happy hour drink on the patio at Thursday's!! The only thing we weren't entirely thrilled about - the pool on the roof is open to the public in the afternoon and evening. Hôtel idéalement situé (à quelques mètres de la rue Ste Catherine qui est la grosse artère commerciale de Montréal). Accueil chaleureux, le personnel est toujours là quand on en a besoin, pour conseiller des restaurants, des endroits à voir etc. La chambre est grande et propre, très agréable.
