"Too old for a four star hotel"
While this property was probably four star at one time, it is now faded and old. It has the amenities, but the tile in the bathroom and shower were stained. The coffee pot leaked and the carpet was worn. Their service and the restaurant were good. Had I known the age of the hotel, I would not have booked it. The property is closing in September .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad bad experince"
Not friendly at all, and the worst thing is the pool is a bar and no Gym in a hotel is incredibl to believe at this centuryGenuine Expedia guest review
"This Place Is An Old Dump"
This may have been a nice hotel... in 1982. Everything is old, cheesy decor and the halls smell like rotten mangos. It took 45 mins to bring up bath towels, after I waited on hold 5 mins to get someone at front desk. The room smells like a Philly Cheesesteak with onions. The roof top was full of the trashiest people I have seen. The side of the building […] and balconies are crumbling. I was told it is being knocked down next year. You'll be embarrassed to tell people where you are staying. All in all, it's a dump. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

There was an extremely loud party going on in the room above us from 3am until 5 am when we complained to the front desk.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel de la Montagne"
Very strange place. The decore is something like a past-its-prime Las Vegas hotel off the old strip with fiberglass Grecian and Indian statues, dilapidated crystal chandeliers and quite a bit of red and pink. It smelled of incense throughout (I suppose it could have been worse). All that was missing was the sound of the slot machines. Marketing photos […] of the rooms, which looked okay on the website, do not match the actual rooms, which are run-down. The neighborhood was rough, but security seemed okay. The staff was very nice and relatively helpful but I wouldn't stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to sights with lots of hidden fees"
We checked into hotel 40 minutes earlier than typical arrival and were charged $20additional for parking- they did NOT tell us this at check in. Found out when we got our bill at check out. We would have parked on the street until check in had we known this. Also, they charged us $20 per night for having 3 ppl in a room with 2 queen beds. Lots of fees […] that were not made clear up front. Pool is open to public at 11:30 am and gets VERY crowded. Not a leisurely hotel pool at all. only benefit is location but there are many other hotels in same area. Hotel is very dated. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"bad hotel stuck in the 80s"
I was really surprized that the most basic services were not a part of this place which seems to operate more as a meat-market bar with rooms, rather than a 4 star hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
"HotelL De La Montagne"
Hotel is under renovations! Jack hammering during our stay shaking the walls. Balcony was rendered unusable due to raining fine concrete dust coming from the 20th floor. It really was surreal. Might have been funny if we had been issued dust masks. Steer clear of this hotel until their work is completed!! Service was top shelf though, and centrally […] located next to the Museum district. "online pictures misleading"
Overall, the hotel served its purpose. Cresent Street is a happening place. The hotel is older and the rooms are gloomy and outdated, hotel roof-top pool bar is skeezy and open to the public (i.e., every other hotel in the area), and the attached clubs are shady. Hotel staff was nice. Stayed at hotel le crystal the first night for the same money..this […] is a nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointing"
Very old AC. No fridge. No included breakfast. For the price you pay you expect more.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pool was a disappointment"
The pool was too small. There was no hot tub. The pool area was a bar and therefore was not family friendly. The hotel is supposedly closing next month so it doesn't really matter anyway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Over priced for what you get...."
This hotel shows its age. Bathroom and view were not as advertised. No fridge. Staff were very friendly though.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Weekend Getaway"
We liked the location of the hotel but the overall establishment seemed dodgy due to the company attending the patio and upper deck area. We often had to wait at the elevator with people who were going to the 20th floor and would cut in line in front of us while we tried to get to our room on the 8th floor. It caused for an uncomfortable experience. […] The room was nice and the service was very good. Our cleaner did a very good job and we were quite happy with that. It was the elevator and the people who frequented the hotel and bar upstairs that really made the stay uncomfortable and took away from the hotels appeal. We would not likely stay there again for this particular reason. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Old, Tired Hotel - Tacky"
This is simply not a four star business hotel. There is nothing obvious missing from the rooms - indeed, they are bigger than most 4 star business hotels in Montreal. It is a VERY tired, old hotel. The reception area looks, smells and feels like the boudoir of a very old-time chicken ranch in Nevada. A bit musty, lots of kitschy old art-deco decorations, […] etc. I didn't see any hookers, but it has the feel of a place that OUGHT to have them sitting around in the lounge. It sounds unfair when I put it that way, but if you walk into the lobby, you'll know what I mean. Tiny pool on the rooftop with a bar that is actually quite a happening spot if the weather is nice. I am told by locals the place is slated to be ripped down and re-developed along with the (discrete) strip club next door. It IS a good location, strip club notwithstanding. Just a very old, tired hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Montreal trip"
This was a Birthday Gift for a very special person. The lighting in the room was very depressing, very dim and the bathroom lights were not bright enough. The bed was creaky, in fact we did request another room and the staff was obliging enough for us to check another room but that bed had the same problem, and we chose to remain in the first room. […] The last day we could not even shower as the toilets had clogged up and the dirt came right through the shower drains. It was disgusting. Basically the hotel cannot claim 4.5 ratings. As far as the hotel was concerned it was a total disaster and believe me I would never recommend it to anybody. Total waste of money!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, but too noisy"
This hotel was very well situated, close to where we wanted to eat and walking distance from many attractions, shops and restaurants, but it was too noisy. The walls were too thin, the patrons enjoyed partying at the roof bar, in the rooms and even in the halls, and the air conditioner was very noisy as it turned on and off all night. For fun, it was […] great. For a restful stay, it was not. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the money"
My friends and I were very excited to stay at this hotel with the pool on the roof and the great location. But right upon checking in we felt like we were walking on eggshells for everything in fear of being charged for things other hotels don’t charge for (We got charged for ice). We got dirty looks from the doormen which is very unprofessional, while […] also getting the feeling they were spying on us to make sure we weren't doing anything wrong. I did not feel the least bit comfortable staying at this hotel. It was also quite disappointing when we went up to the pool in the afternoon and couldn't even get close to it - it was a hang out spot for people off the streets. We got pointed and stared at because we weren't part of the usual crowd that occupied the spare around the pool. We went up the next morning since only hotel guests get to use the pool before 11:30 and before 11 that crowd was already starting to fill up the area around the pool and the lifeguard just let it slide. The whole stay was just a huge disappointment from start to finish. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is going there for the pool or to anyone trying to have a fun weekend with their friends. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The Hotel dela Montagne in Montreal"
I was at the de la Montagne for 4 nights, May 13th and checking out May 17th, 2009 and experienced 2 of those nights with no sleep, the party in the room next to mine, from the voices I gathered there were three occupants, 2 men and 1 woman, were very loud and rowdy all night long, I'm not exxagerating, they were so loud it seemed like they were in […] the same room with me, from bottles clinking, there must have been lots of drinking go on, lots of profanity, lots of door banging, at some point one of them had left the room and upon his return the other two wouldn't let him in and he was banging and yelling on their suite door for quite a few minutes until he finally left only to come back a hour or so later and continued the banging and swearing. I phoned down to the front desk both times asking for help but the manager at the desk was not very helpful, he said he would have security come up but that didn't help. I did hear security come up to talk to them on the one occasion I called the front desk but when I called for help while the one occupant was at the suite door banging and yelling to be let back in, while the manager said he would send up security I didn't hear sucurity come up at all, I would have heard as my suite adjoined this one. It was so loud and noisy I even asked the manager to call the police but of course he didn't , he actually said that wouldn't be necessary and that security would be able to handle the problem whichof course they didn't. I feel my peace and enjoyment of the visit was highly compromised and actually I should take the time to complain to the general manager but I've been very very busy with work. You know what, at the end of the day if the night manager had just said a simple I'm sorry to me I wouldn't be so upset about the whole experience. As nice as the hotel is I will not stay there again. On the Sunday morning I mentioned the incidents to the lady at the front desk, she advised me that those guests had checked out that mornin Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
