Great location and our grandchildren loved the salt water pool. We parked and walked to all the sites on our list---the Parliament Buildings, the Royal Canadian Mint, the Currency Museum, Byward Market, Rideau Canal, restaurants and shopping. "Over priced considering construction taking place"
Parking was terrible for a truck, I had to park across the street for $25/night Major construction going on in the lower levels of hotel, very loud. Temporary exits to street could have been marked better. Air conditioning did not work in room, i reported it to front desk but it did not get fixed. One ice machine not working. The staff were very nice and helpful. We were disappointed when we got to our floor/room though. The conditions of the carpet and wall paper was quite old and run down. The room was very small. No comfortable chairs to sit in, just desk type chairs. The bathroom was so tiny that you could barely fit infront of the vanity. The pool was very cold and […] adults and kids were complaining. Stayed here for 2 days on the week-end. Friendly staff at the lobby and the restaurant. Great pool for kids. Room was clean, modern and had everything we needed for a short stay. Asked for a mini-fridge and received it within 5 minutes. Convenient location with parking and a Tim Horton's downstairs. "Lots of construction but otherwise quite good"
There is some significant construction going on at this hotel (August 2012). We didn't hear any banging or construction noises. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only down side is there is (as a result of the construction) no place in the hotel to go for a beer after a long day working. I like Delta hotels and have stayed in their hotels many times. But lack of signage to find entrance due to construction was frustrating and time consuming. Great service. We arrived early and they gave us an available room straight away, upgrading our room. And when we left, they asked straight away if we were taking a taxi and carried our bags, which they had stored for us, right to the taxi. (They offered to extend our check out time!) Love not having to ask! We stayed during a busy week - there was […] a competition of some sort going on and they added staff to handle the transitions (e.g. elevators usage) within the hotel and provide directions to those staying. The hotel is undergoing some work, but it didn't interfere with our stay and we used the services of the concierge, helping us with directions, and suggestions. We ate dinner - one night - in the restaurant - the buffet was terrible but our in room breakfast was great. We especially enjoyed the pool area - with plenty of clean towels and a bowl full of apples for us. And we loved being within walking distance to Parliament, the War Museum, the Mint ... we walked everywhere! The comfort of our room (and bed), the friendliness and helpfulness of staff, and being within walking distance to so many great places made this an ideal stay. We would stay here again! "Lobby Construction"
At the time of our visit, July 2012, the lobby was being completely refinished. This meant there wasn't anywhere for us to park in front of the hotel to unload our bags. Instead we parked in the underground parking lot and unloaded the car from there using the luggage carts. Not a real issue. Check in was simple from their relocated lobby from what […] was called the lower lobby which was the main floor. The rooms, although just a bit small, were extremely well decorated (very modern, new, and clean). For those bringing a laptop, they have all the hookups to the flat screen TV integrated into the desk. Fantastic for playing (not paying) to watch movies at the end of the day. They also had free ultra-high speed Internet (20 Mbps) with unlimited download. The hotel is right downtown just a few minute walk away from parliament hill and other downtown attractions. If they are still offering a discount to offset for the construction, I would recommend this hotel. Oh yes, and the pool and fitness room are in good condition as well. Fairly good stay! Front desk went above and beyond for me! I booked from another website, didnt realise you had to ask for a fridge (which seems cheap since they bar fridges are cheap) They finally located one. Room very very clean, beds were amazingly comfortable. Drinking glass in bathroom had lip smudges (gross). Housekeeping continued to knock on […] the door at 9 am and woke us all up (my 2 babies under 2, my mom and myself after fighting to get them to sleep all night) I was a bit angry about that since we didnt have to be out of the room until 12. All in all it was good.. close to all of downtown and has a Tim Hortons on the ground level (which came in handy since the sleep was cut short and we had a long drive ahead). "Confusion"
First of all, what are the Marketing people thinking when they put 2 Deltas on opposite corners of Queen & Lyon streets? Lot's of confusion. Parking fees and acess not clearly explained. Well, being my first time to Ottawa, I was a tad bit disappointed. The room was run down, a bit dirty, stains on the carpet and on the wallpaper, the bathroom doorknob was practically falling off, and the bathroom was tiny. Unfortunately the underground parking is not owned and operated by us and was most likely built in 1967 the same year this building went up. For future references there are a few outdoor independently owned parking lots in our vicinity to accommodate large trucks.

"thanks for the boost"
Great staff the concierge was very helpful and freindly. Told us about the PH floor and to go up there and check out the view with a glass of wine. She said it is for functions but nothing is going on. It was an awsome view of the area. Check in was ok, a bit of confusion as another front desk person picked up my debit card and walked away with it during the process. "Reasonable for the price"
We stayed two nights here. A typical cheaper business style hotel. A bit of a walk to the nicer area of Ottawa, but overall a quality stay. Pool was nice, restaurant was basically empty all weekend so we didn't try it.
