"Great location!"
Great location, excellent survice . The hotel has free wifi and is very quiet at night . I would recomend it and I would stay there again if come back to Vancouver.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great stay and even better location"
I was impressed by the accesibility and proximity of the hotel to all the mayor places in downtown everything was walking distance and the hotel staff were very friendly. the shared bathroom was not an issue at all as I thought prior to my stay. will recommend two thumbs up!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Kingston Hotel Bed and Breakfast"
We had a great time staying here. If you are looking for something modern or fancy, you might not be happy with it. We had a tiny room with a tiny bed and a shared bathroom down the hall. It was pretty much exactly what we expected. Very European. Everything was clean, but the towels could use some bleach! The staff was very nice, the price was very […] reasonable, and the location was perfect. We took the train up and walked to the hotel. On our second day, we walked up to Stanley Park and had a great day there. That evening we walked to the BC Place Stadium to see Paul McCartney. There are also a lot of good places to eat withing walking distance, including the Kingston restaurant right next door. Breakfast was coffee and a toasted bagel. It was perfect for us. If you are not fussy, and are looking for an inexpensive place to sleep, this is a great choice. We will definitely return! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The jackhammers outside my window before 8 am were a shock. Nothing the hotel can do about that. Was quiet the rest of the time. Will stay with you again when taking the train from the US.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ok for a short stay."
The staff were excellent, the location great. The rooms very small, the double bed very small and has shared bathrooms. In regards to shared bathrooms, it worked out ok as there were several of them. Breakfast was a toasted bagel and cup of tea. The overall stay was ok as it was just for 1 night. It was good value for the money paid.Genuine Expedia guest review
Lked the European style.....no TVs. The shared restrooms reminded us our honeymoon in Austria. Personnel was friendly, helpful, and gracious.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not was was expected"
I made this reservation for my son who was leaving the US to go to school in Canada for a year. We live in small town and i was looking for a place that would be homey yet in downtown Vancouver. He said his room was very small with a single bed, said it would be a double and the hotel smells quite musty and old. Unless it was missed, there didn't seem […] to be a common area where he could watch TV or relax. Unfortunately, I missed the info about a construction site, and it started at 6 a.m., but that was my oversight. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A hidden gem"
A real experience. Hotel was built in 1910 so is only one double bed, no air conditioning and a shared shower but great value for a couple. Came with a continental breakfast which was a bonus. Provides free in room wifi and a laundry which also helps keep the costs down. Location is right in the shopping area and closer to the historic parts of the […] town than the big name hotels. Currently has major construction going on both sides so get woken if you want to sleep in late during mid-week. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel to visit vancouver"
This hotel is just in downtown. The place is simple but has everything you need. Breakfast is perfect and the staff is very nice. During the day the hotel is a bit noisy from 7.30AM because of the works and excavators near, but at 4.00PM it stopsGenuine Expedia guest review
"Center of downtown"
This hotel is right in the middle of downtown and not far from the airport train as well. Our room was clean. The continental breakfast was toatsted bagels, coffee, orange juice, and orange slices. The hotel staff were very nice. It may not be your thing if you don't like sharing a bathroom with the floor, but I was able to manage for a few days! Overall […] I would definitely stay here again! It was OK for the price, but the continental breakfast was a real disappointment. It could hardly be called a breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and clean for simple traveling"
If you get a standard room, do not be surprised that the room is rather small (13' x 8') with a small sink and mirror; a small, built-in closet; a small desk and chair, and a full-size bed. There's not a lot of room but it is quite comfy and clean as it receives daily care. The breakfast part of B&B includes bagel or toast, juice or coffee, and some […] cut up fruit. Although a standard room includes sharing a bathroom with the rest of the floor, the bathrooms are constantly cleaned. I would give a tip to all travelers staying at this B&B to leave the door of the bathroom open after you have used it as we found ourselves waiting a lot of time for people to get out when in reality no one was there and we were too shy to knock. After a while, we all started leaving the door semi-open to not cause others unnecessary wait. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"You get what you pay for..."
We got a room prebooked on the 3d floor. There is one bathroom and a men's shower for the entire floor which are about 10 rooms. Needless to say the bathrooms are always occupied. We also did not have air in the room and it was very uncomfortable. The view of the room was a construction site which started to make noise at 6am. The room is tiny and the […] bed is 3/4 full. If you don't mind all these conveniences, the price is right. The lady night of our stay we slept at the Victorian which for 25 dollars extra got so much more- great breakfast and beautiful cool rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect room to sleep in; best location possible"
Great little room with a desk, night table, sink, and mini-closet. Very small but perfect because we were barely in it. Didn't enjoy sharing the shower with the other rooms but it was worth it for the price to be in the middle of the downtown action on Canada Day weekend. "Good value."
This is actually not as bad as I expected. Basically, I got what I paid for. You can't get any cheaper in the downtown Vancouver area. I would recommend to my friends who don't want to spend too much and get a good location in the city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"recomended only if your travelling alone..."
location was perfect, but Vancouver is a city where you can get everywhere very easily by bus or skytrain, so I feel it didn´t make much difference being in downtown and paying for a tiny room, where you don´t want to be at all, the matress was old and uncomfortable, I didn´t sleep well, and you can hear everything next room and hallway. towells where […] old, same as sheets and furniture. Nice Hotel but I had no idea I would be sharing a bathroom! It was not too much of a hassle but my booking did not indicate this. Overall it's a convenient and nice hotel close to cruise port in Vancouver. "Great for what we needed it for."
We just needed a place to overnight before boarding an Alaska cruise and the Kingston hotel was just the ticket--inexpensive, clean, near many restaurants, and within walking distance of the cruise terminal. Shared baths (2 on our floor) were fine and we didn't have to wait to use them. Complimentary robes and slippers were a nice touch. The staff is […] friendly and helpful. On the minus side, our room was VERY small (much smaller than our stateroom on the ship, as it turns out) and the bed was uncomfortably soft. But for 1 night, it would be hard to find a better deal. "Pleasantly surprised!"
I hadn't looked at the hotel website too carefully when I booked it... I was just aiming for something inexpensive. When I arrived I was reminded (told) that there were shared bathrooms. It wasn't what I expected, but it worked out well. There were multiple bathrooms and (individual) showers and they were never occupied when I needed one. There weren't […] TVs in the rooms, which took some getting used to. There was some construction nearby while we were there, but I'm sure that won't be an issue for long... also, it sounds like they're building a very environmentally-friendly building in the demolished area, and it will have a self-sustaining indoor garden, which would be cool to check out if you stay after April 2012. The staff were Incredibly friendly and helpful--they gave great suggestions for sight-seeing, and they provided umbrellas when it was rainy (or looked like it might be rainy). "Stay elsewhere (unless u have tight budget)"
Good things: location (one block from metro) and three blocks from port; small sauna; OK price; fairly clean. Bad things: No shower in the room; no TV. "No bathroom in the room"
When we ordered the room we understood there will be one toilet and bathroom for two rooms. We thought it will be no problem to share it with our friends. When we arrived we found out there is just one toilet and bathroom for 15 rooms. This was not what we expected for our vacations. The explanations in expedia site doesn't state it clearly. Rooms also […] are very small. All other features are OK and price also is better than other hotels. But you should be ready to live with these inconveniences. "Kingston Hotel B&B - Downtown Vancouver"
Ok, this is the place to stay if you want a very inexpensive room and don't plan to spend any time whatsoever in your hotel. "Great location, but..."
This was in fact, the smallest hotel room I've ever seen. I've been in larger bathrooms. I can only recommend this to travelers who need to be in this neighborhood, or to folks who are looking for an inexpensive place to stay, and plan to be out and about the entire day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great downtown location"
Very nice European style guest hotel within walking distance of Yaletown, Gastown and the excitement of Robson Street. The rooms and bed are a bit small and you have to share two washrooms per floor but everything is exceptionally clean, the hotel is surprisingly quiet given the location and the price is right!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Scrap the 10 dollars for the second person!"
Our hotel experience was very good. From the moment we got into our room it was clean and simple. The only thing I would complain about is the addition of 10 dollars for a second person. A hotel room with a double bed should accommodate two people. I've travelled a lot and never seen such a charge. This 10 dollar difference made the hotel a bargain […] to be downtown, into something only about 15 difference from a hotel WITH its own bathroom. To us we didn't care but still will be something to think about. If the hotel was only 55 dollars and with proper tax without fees (60 with tax) we would be there a few times a year easy. "Decent, you get what you pay for"
For the price we paid for, we didn't expect too much from the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was coffee, orange juice and toast or bagel which was enough for us. Housekeeping was not done everyday but we were fine with this because we kept our room clean. I thought the carpet needed vacuuming though. It's a quaint, old building […] and because of these, I would think that it requires a lot of cleaning and maintenance. The shared bathrooms were clean and always available. "Best place downtown"
This hotel was great! Who cares if you share a shower? You have a sink in your room, the beds are comfortable and it definitely has character and class! Being right downtown you can't ask for a better place to stay and if I ever find myself in need of a hotel in Vancouver again, the Kingston Hotel will definitely be the first place I look! They were […] extremely accommodating to me as I was at a conference for 3 days and had to store my luggage, and couldn't fully check in until late at night. The staff are also extremely helpful and informative. If there was a small downside, there is currently some construction next door (although I never heard it until 8am) and sound carried a little through the floors and walls. It was quiet though! Don't get me wrong. FANTASTIC place to stay. I definitely recommend it :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Was much better than I was expecting!!!!"
I was worried about this hotel as it had a mix of reviews... Most of them good, but one or two bad. But... i didnt want to spend much for one night and so booked it, and for the money, I thought this hotel was great!! It's right in the heart of downtown, just a 5 minute walk to gastown and the seabus etc and really close to shopping etc...If you like […] that. Sharing a bathroom was no problem for me, but I think there are only 2 per floor so that could be a problem when whole floor is booked out and/or first thing in the morning. The negative review I read said that the sheets and room were dirty, but my room was perfect. The staff were all lovely, especially the maid as she tried I help me find change for the washing machine (you need 2 x $1, 2 x 25c, and I only had a $2 - but front desk gave me change so all good!!) Wifi was quick at night when I guess most people weren't using it, but very slow in the morning, I guess when everyone was. But they did warn that I think when you signed in. Overall, I would definetely stay again and recommend to friends. :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Our stay in Vancouver"
We stayed for 5 nights from 10 to 14 Aug 2012. Rates were reasonable given the location of the hotel. Breakfast was sufficient and variety was fine with us as we are ok with having buttered toast bread, orange slices and orange juice. Bagel is also available. There's building construction activities happening on both sides of the hotel, for the same […] development project interestingly, but should be fine if you're going out early in the day and returning in the evening, otherwise you'll have to bear with the noise and dust (if you must open the window as there's no air-conditioning).
