Blue Horizon Hotel

The hotel restaurant & lobby were under construction so that was a bit messy but not really a big deal. There was a $15 per day charge for parking, but that is to be expected at a downtown hotel. The staff was nice as was the room. Room was quiet, clean & comfortable. Bed was very firm. Overall, a good stay.

I recently visited Vancouver and stayed in the best location for a hotel ever!!! It is right in the center of EVERYTHING!! The Trolley, Bus and Big Bus all stop right in front of the hotel. You have shops and dining if you turn left or turn right for as far as the eye can see. Walking distance to everything the Vancouver has to offer including Gastown, […] Yaletown, and easy way to catch anything to go further, like Stanley Park and North Vancouver. Robson street is Fashion capitol and if you like shopping, stay here, you can shop all day and just keep dropping it off at the hotel (hear that, no more carrying bags forever men!!) You can hit Grandville Street and the bay and City Center from this central location. only problem i had is that if you want a goo view, you will need to go to the superior suites, lower suites are nice but have a not so great view. Also, the Customer service is OUTSTANDING!! they can tell you anything you need to know and if they don't know, they always have Google up to get you whatever info they need. We recently spent 3 nights at the Blue Horizon hotel in Vancouver. It was a very pleasant experience! The most lucky thing was that the hotel is located on a nice street (Robson street); it's near downtown but in an upper-scale section of residential high rises and nice shops. I had no fear of walking down the well-lit street at night. There are plenty […] of restaurants and shops within walking distance, and great views of the city. Upon arrival we were told we'd been upgraded from a standard 1-queen-bed room to a 2-queen-bed room, which made our room 100 square feet bigger (from 300 to 400 sf)! It was very spacious and comfortable. Two walls have windows and every room has a balcony. There's a large closet and plush bathrobes. The TV is big and there's a mini-fridge. The bathroom is small considering the size of the rest of the room, but it was fine for the two of us. We got a good deal on hotels.com and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality to price ratio, especially considering what an expensive city Vancouver is known to be. If our travels take us back to Vancouver we will stay at the Blue Horizon again. Read more

We were looking for a nice, comfortable room that was convenient for getting to all the sites in this fantastic city...without spending a fortune. Blue Dolphin surpassed our expectations. Location: This was key for us. It's right in the heart of everything. On Robson Street, near great restaurants, bars, and shopping. I liked its proximity to Stanley […] Park. I recommend renting bikes and taking a ride through this amazing park. There are several open-aired balcony bars/restaurants within a block of the Blue Dolphin. Rooms: Our room was at the lowest price level, but it was extremely clean and spacious. There is a safe and plenty of room for even the heaviest packers. Very comfortable and quiet at night, which is important to us. The 180 degrees of windows provided a nice view of the city as well. The shades kept the light out in the morning. Staff: The employees checking us in were very kind and were helpful in giving advice as to where to go and how to get there. We were there during the riots following the Stanley Cup Finals. However, this didn't diminish our love for this city. Almost everyone we interacted with were extremely kind and welcoming. We can't wait to return and will definitely stay at the Blue Dolphin again. We stayed here for just one night. We were able to park for the whole next day, though, and they extended our check out time 1.5 hours with no hassle whatsoever. Super friendly staff and nice rooms. Great location - walking distance from Stanley Park and tons of great places to eat.

We were very happy with our stay. A very affordable room in a great location within walking distance of Burrard Inlet and lots of restaurants. Parking was reasonable (by big city standards!) and very convenient. I definitely recommend getting a room above the 15th floor. Costs more but we had a water view that was beautiful. Room was spacious, clean […] and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small, but clean and manageable. The only reason I gave service a 4 is because the front desk wasn't particularly helpful when I asked about Stanley Park and they gave me incorrect information. Good location, but need to walk about 15 min to skytrain in order to travel to the airport. It is relatively cheap to travel via skytrain then taxi. Unfortunately the hotel price do not include breadfast. Must try the Alaska King Crab from super market along Alberni Street about two blocks away. It cost CAN$13 for a big leg. On 7th floor at front. Woken several times early morning with noise from next door club. Would stay at hotel again but would make sure not to stay on lower floors or a room near the entrance to hotel. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Great location for walking to sites, shops, bars etc.

We have stayed in hotels all over the U.S. and a few in Europe and this was probably the largest room we've ever seen - without paying premium prices. And, it had, as all in the B.H. do, a balcony. Add to that the location in a busy, centrally located neighborhood, on bus and tour bus lines, and we'd recommend it to anyone.

Blue Horizon is in the perfect location to explore Vancouver. Right in the heart of Robson Street, close to Stanley Park. The rooms haven't been updated in awhile - wood paneling on the walls, etc. - but the bathrooms have been renovated, and the views from upper floors are amazing!

Just spent 4 nigths at the Blue Horizon while exploring Vancouver and Victoria with my husband. We were really happy with out stay. The hotel is situated on Robson street in the middle of downtown. We were right in the middle of it all it seemed - great shopping, dining, and people watching. Also just minutes (by car) from tourist attractions like Stanley […] Park and the Capilano suspension bridge. The hotel staff we encountered were very friendly. Our room was on the 29th floor with great views of the city and the water. The room decor was a little outdated, but the room was very clean, with a private balcony. I found our bed to be a little uncomfortable, but I pretty much find all hotel beds uncomfortable as I am used to sleeping on memory foam. Great location and fantastic value - I don't think you can beat this price for the location. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone. Read more
