"Weekend in Vancouver"
Overall, a nice hotel for the money. The hotel seems to be have been a former condo or apartment. The room itself was clean and roomy. There was an odd smell of paint or glue in the hallway. Even a trace in the room. The bathroom was far too small. Very cramped for just one person, let alone two. The bathroom ceiling was just above my head. And I'm […] not a tall person. The water pressure was excellent. There's an ice bucket in the room, but no ice machines to found anywhere; annoying. The balcony is tiny. So don't expect to sit out there. It's just a ledge big enough to look out. The free wi-fi worked fine on my computer. No concierge at this hotel. So you'd have to book reservations yourself. The front desk was often busy and it took time just for a simple question. A bellman didn't even know where what was where; I found that odd for a person who is supposed to be living in Vancouver. The lower floors have no view. So if you want a view, you'd have to book something over 10 floors and above (and that cost more). Didn't like the fact the room had no mini-fridge. So if you bought some food or fruit during your day, there was no place to put it. We had to keep or fruit on the air conditioner (which is a window unit.) Seems outdated to have one (and they are noisy) as opposed to central air. There is a small indoor pool and gym below the lobby. It was too hot and chlorine stifling to be in there. Again, this hotel is good for a person, couple, or a family on a budget. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We very much enjoyed downtown Vancouver, especially Granville Island Market, a must visit. The hotel could have been more accommadating, like allowing a late checkout when a parade closed the street and any exit from the hotel until 4:PM. Parking is a little pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A little disappointed"
While my room was "updated", it wasn't comfortable. The bathtub was old with grungy non-slip stickers on the bottom. If I left the closet door open, then it blocked the entrance to the bathroom. I could hear conversations in the rooms on either side of my room. No wi-fi, a $3 charge to print out my boarding pass. The staff was friendly, which may have […] been the best part of the hotel experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No Wifi?!"
I stayed at this hotel for a business conference as is was recommended by a website hosting the show. The price was fair and upon initial seeing the place I thought it would be great. However Iearned when I got up to my room after checking in that the hotel is NOT equipped with Wifi internet service, each room has 1 hardware (ethernet wire) to plug […] in to access internet. Being that I was traveling with only my Macbook air and ipad (both with no ethernet port) I realized that there was no way I would be able to handle my emails etc. from the hotel room. When I went down to the front desk to explain this the staff was very rude and told me they would have to charge for 1 night, no exceptions. I ended up having to find a local mac store and purchase an adapter just to stay at this hotel, and this left me binded to the desk my whole stay. Nice hotel but they really need to understand the importance of wireless internet, it is 2011 not 1998!!!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Blue Horizon"
The concept is good. Balconies, corner rooms, etc. but the rooms are cramped, the halls are tiny and the elevators are clostrophobic. The decor is good but the curtains are ominpou and difficult to manage. Where are the chairs on the balconies?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel but technical issues"
overall i can recommend the hotel. good location ( i went to a convention in the convention center and it was only 10 min walk from the hotel to the convention center). many restaurants and shops nearby. there are even small grocery stores nearby. Except for one little thing that was annoying. i had no internet access the last day i stayed. all suddenly […] i could not connect to the internet (broadband modem...no wifi). I so called the front desk and they connected me to the technical service. Then i was spending 20 min on the phone telling the person all kinds of technical settings and in the end they could not help me. So they said that they would call me back and try to resolve the problem. I said that I am a "guest" in the hotel and I am not going to spend my last evening in front of my computer trying to get my internet to run again. So that was rather disappointing experience for me esp. when you have to check your emails ...in the end i had to use my cell phone with roaming to check my emails. ;( Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very Frustrated"
After being on a land tour and boat cruise for 18 days we were looking for some down time, in Vancover, before heading home. Unfortunately, we came off the ship sick and when we arrived at the main desk to check in, our rooms were not ready. It was only 10:30 am so we expected to hear that. The young fellow at the desk said not to worry they would be […] availaable in about an hour. How about 4.5 hours later!!! We had lunch and toured around the city as much as we could, but 2 of us were too sick to do any more. Our friends finally got their room and were told ours was ready as well. But when we went to the desk, we were told the wrong room was cleaned and we would have to wait. I couldn't wait, I was too sick. At that moment the young fellow who checked us in couldn't believe we were still waiting at this time of the day, which was about 3:30pm. He immediately upgraded us and got us into a room immediately. He was wonderful, but we sure did get the run around from the girls running the desk. They really didn't seem to care. I was extremely disappointed in their attitude and more in their lack of knowledge of what was happening. When we finally got to our rooms, they were perfect, and very comfortable and clean. Another drawback of the hotel was there was only 3 chairs in their so called "lobby". Not acceptable for those who have to wait for rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Blue Horizon - convenient location"
We were happy overall with this hotel. They gave us a nice room. The staff only answered the questions asked and was not going over and above to guide strangers on a first trip with events, dining etc. For example, there was a wonderful fireworks competition going on but there was no mention of it as a suggestion. The cafe staff was a bit rude to u […] s. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good central location"
The rooms were comfortable, a decent size and functional. There was a fridge and hot drink making facilities. The view wasn;t good as we overlooked the carpark but that didn't bother us as we were out most of the time and had the curtains closed. We had no issues with noise. There was a restaurant in the lobby which offered a reasonable breakfast at […] a reasonable price. The hotel is in a good central location to shops and restauants, gastown is only 10 mins walk. A free shuttle bus for the Capilano Suspension bridge stops right outside the hotel. The hotel pool is small so is more for fun and relaxation than fitness. The only negative was our table lamp fell apart and exposed a live wire but it was removed quickly when we reported it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Blue Horizon hotel Vancouver"
Very nice large, clean rooms & great location. Staff friendliness was not as good as other hotels we had stayed in in Canada. Fire alarm action needs reviewing as staff did not take control with directions & announcements when alarm went off at 3.30am.Minimal equip. in rooms,no kettle, fridge not cold & no wine glasses. Value for money poor in comparison […] to other hotels stayed in during our 3 week stay in Canada. Finally housekeeping not done until late in the day. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Blue Horizon Vancouver - convenient for dining out"
Positives - good location, lots of great eating places on the doorstep and not far from the waterfront. Nice big rooms with lots of space and plenty of windows, clean and comfortable Negatives - wired internet - OK for some computers but no use at all for ipad. The connection was also very hit and miss during our stay (we had a pc and an ipad), we […] just gave up in the end. Also for such a modern room the bathroom was extremely dated and very small. The hotel location is good. The room is clean and large. However, I was tripped in the elevator for one hour since it was broken. I didn't feel safe to take the elevator afterwards.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Blue Horizon"
I stayed at this hotel because I had a medical appt I could walk to. I have stayed there previously so I know that I got a much smaller than usual room booking through hotels.com For the price it was basic - no lotion. shampoo, conditioner etc. but quiet and clean. Room overlooked Robson Street - the busy side.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Some shampoo and hair conditioner in the room would have been nice. The people working the front desk could have been a little friendlier. The waiter that worked in the Restaurant Saturday night was very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Glad you doing renovations"
The hotel is kind of a trick. The lobby and downstairs restaurant look very nice. A nice fountain as you wait for the elevator. BUT then you get out of the elevator and it looks like you stepped into 1972. Narrow hallway with bad carpet and wallpaper. The room was a nice size though and the bed was very comfortable. It will be interesting to see how […] it all looks once the renos are finished. We'll stay here again but only after the renos are completed. That way the rest of the hotel will match the lobby/restaurant modern look. Maybe I'm becoming too picky :) ... we did have a nice stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfecte locatie"
