"Nice hotel, few issues"
Our room was located right in front of the elevator, which kept us up all night with the dings every time it opened. Also, our heater/air was making a loud noise to the point where we couldn't turn the air on. Slept in a hot room one night until they fixed it the next morning. They covered our room-service dinner from the night before. Other than that, […] nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not the best Four Seasons but it's ok"
We (my wife, my son and I) went to Maui and stayed at Four Seasons there a few months ago. It's definitely a much better Four Seasons. This one in Vancouver downtown is not that good. But don't get me wrong. You'll still get 5-star service here. The standard room is small and I regretted I didn't follow front desk's advise to upgrade to a larger room. […] The hotel provides babysitting service and I asked for it to take care of my son. My son got sick (vomit) on the last day so we have to leave earlier. My overall impression is, this hotel definitely provides 5-star service. But its appearance and inside look not as shining as I expected. My son's sickness might impact my feeling... "Really disappointed"
Was really looking forward to staying in a Four Seasons as their reputation is five star but was very very disappointed in this hotel. In the bathroom we only had two bath and two hand towels (even three star hotels give you more than that) and when we ordered breakfast in the room we had two postage stamp size pats of butter for two orders of toast […] and breakfast wasn't cheap. Restaurant was the nicest thing about the hotel. I travel a lot but won't be going to a Four Seasons again Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great for a business trip but not for couples!"
My husband were a little shocked to see how much of an office block this hotel was like. The building looks like it is from the 1970's and I'm sure it was very luxurious then, but now I would say it is more of a business hotel, as opposed to a luxury couple's retreat. We paid extra for the Deluxe Preferred-View Room but we ended up facing the newly […] built apartment complex that still had lots of construction workers in it during the day who could look into our room, so we didn't feel as if it was that private. The room was pretty decent - clean, and a very comfortable bed, the bathroom was a decent size with great L'occitaine amenities. The pool area was quite nice - I like the different flavored water in the water jars located in the gym area. When you swim outside though (the pool is half indoor and half outdoor), it's just very strange as once again, you are surrounded by highrises and so people in their offices can see you! Just not very private. We had a few drinks and appetizers downstairs in Yew, which I would really recommend. The food was delicious, the cocktails amazing and the waitstaff were very friendly. The one real complaint we have about the hotel was the concierge. We went to see whether we could book a whale watching trip and we asked the concierge about it. She was very rude and didn't explain to us what our different options were and frankly was quite patronizing to us when we have never before been whale watching and therefore did not know what to expect. "somewhat overpriced ."
had small rooms and needed ventilation fans in the bathrooms . The parking is via nextdoor mall , was somewhat inconvenient . The staff were well trained. I have had much bigger rooms and just as good amenities at Embassy Suites in the USA at half the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"not worth the money"
Just not a typical Four Seasons experience, not worth the money in my opinion. The food was not nearly the normal quality and the room was just ok. I would not waste my money. My friends stayed at a different hotel and had a far better room for half the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Expected a Better appearance"
I would have expected a more beautiful hotel as it is Four Seasons. It just looks like any other 2 or 3 star hotels. The room that we got being on the 12th floor is something to be desired as we cannot leave the curtains open as the opposite building is too close in proximity (the street separating the opposite structures is so narrow). There's limited […] privacy in that case. However, the staff is very accomodating and always pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver Thank you for your valuable feedback during your recent stay at Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver. Being one of the original properties of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, we do lack some of the moderate amenities compared to our newer sister properties. Having colleagues that have remained with us since our opening in 1976, we are proud of our impeccable service standards and strive to accommodate each and every guest. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed our central location in the heart of downtown Vancouver – such a timesaver! With that being said, we do have rooms on higher floors that do offer city and mountain views as well as more privacy. Our Concierge and Guest Service teams are also always on standby to assist in any way possible to ensure you get to where you need to be through all forms of transportation, including taxis, limousines, rental cars, and so on. Thank you so much for writing to us with your feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Vancouver for future stays. Regards,

Response by Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver Thank you for you value feedback. We are a 4-star hotel, and one of the original Canadian properties of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. We do lack some of the moderate amenities required to achieve the standard five-star rating. With that said, we are proud of our impeccable service standards and strive to accommodate each and every guest. All feedback is good feedback, and we appreciate your time in writing to us. "Good hotel but not what one expects from a Four Seasons"
Spent 4 nights at the Four Seasons. First, the good things: nice public areas, the Yew restaurant/bar is very good, the bed was typical Four Seasons amazing, the location was great, the valets and bell-people, the front desk staff and servers were all professional and friendly, and the pool and fitness area were nice. Now the bad: from the outside, […] the hotel is unattractive, the ceilings in the hallways and rooms are low, and the bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. My room had a bath and shower combination which was small and looked far more Holiday Inn then Four Seasons. I asked if there was a room with a larger shower and was told by the assistant manager that most of the rooms had similar bathrooms (I was in a deluxe panaromic room). Supposedly, the hotel has just been renovated, but I guess they didn't want to spend the money required to really overhaul the bathrooms. My last morning, I had a later flight and had planned to sleep in. At 9 I woke to the sounds of sawing and hammering above my head. I called the operator, and the assistant manager called me to say they were doing work on the floor above me. I went to the elevators to go down to the restaurant and the elevators were turned off on my floor and I waited for ~30 min then walked to a lower floor. The assistant manager comped my breakfast, but they should have notified me the day before that they were going to close my floor (obvioulsy planned), or been far more generous in compensation. "Not Impressive for a Four Seasons"
This location of Four Seasons in downtown Vancouver is not impressive compared with several other locations like Beverley Hills, Santa Barbara, etc... I guess the downtown location where real estate is compacted is one of the reasons for this. The hotel is functional and rooms are clean and reasonably furnished. The larger suites are very nice and spacious […] but also very expensive. The onsite restaurant called Yew is very unimpressive with excessive pricing for very ordinary and unexciting food. The concierge services are pretty bad with most of the recommendations having strange biases and some of the recommended restuarants not even being open any more. "Four Seasons Vancouver not worth the hype"
Upon checking in at the Four Seasons I went to my room to get ready to go out to a meeting. I decided to take a shower noticed the bathroom was in disrepair. The towel rack was almost falling off the wall. The wall sconces were all turned/bent off centre and one light was very dim almost burned out. The shower is a bit strange and very drafty due to […] the partial shower door. I had to turn the water as hot as I could to get the water warm enough for a shower. When I tried to iron a dress shirt for my meeting, the iron leaked non-stop despite the iron only being Half full of water. I tried to adjust all the settings but it made no difference. To top off a long day of travel and the on-board entertainment system not working on my 6 hour West Jet flight, the cable was out at the hotel. Once I was finally ready to go to my meeting I stopped at the front desk and asked that they device the room. I get back to my room after the meeting and go to my room only to notice my key not working. I go down to the front desk to inquire about the key not working to find out they switched my room. I thought at first them must be giving me an upgrade for my trouble. Upon getting to the new room on a higher floor, I quickly noticed it was the same. The Four Seasons experience I had was worse than a lot of other brands I have stayed in. The room was basic at best. On a positive note the bed was comfy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"5star potential but needs some tweaks,"
Great location, well kept and an amazing pool and health centre! Done sides no free wireless internet, the free internet in lobby was slow and that's being generous. No info in the room about things to do in the city or in the hotel, had to call and ask. In room dinning menu small, and so very over priced breakfast for two was $86 not including the […] 15% grat and $4 delivery charge (delivery charge really). It should been half that for what we got not to mention it was an average at best meal. Though the cleanliness of the our room was amazing we came in a out of the room three time during the day and every time we came back the room was spotless! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us at Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver. I appreciate your thoughts with regards to our Internet. Currently we do offer complimentary Internet in addition to our lobby terminals in our Business Centre located on the 3rd floor. Our Business Centre is also equipped with complementary full printing and scanning abilities. Simply access it with your guest room key. Your frustration regarding the lack of a guest directory is totally understandable. Rest assured our Concierge, and the entire Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver team, are always on standby to assist in any way possible. It is immensely rewarding to know that our efforts are recognized and appreciated. Thank you for you time in sharing your thoughts with us. Feedback is so important to us, and I will be sure to share them with our team. We look forward to welcoming you back to Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver for future stays. Kind regards,
"Overpriced and Underwhelmed"
The Four Seasons is suppossed to be synonimous with class, luxery and five star service. Although the Vancouver Downtown Four Seasons seams to fufill this criteria on the surface once one checks in and is immersed in the hotel experience it quickly becomes evident how unimpressive the hotel really is. Don't get me wrong. The rooms were clean, the beds […] were soft, the pool and health club well maintained, but for the very high room rates that the Four Seasons charges, one expects the little touches and they are just not there. The interior room decor is boring and uninviting, the furniture poorly chosen, parking is difficult to reach and expensive, and the food from the hotel retaurant dull and unimpressive (who serves corn syrup with pancakes at a Canadian hotel!). My advice to you: next time your in town save your money stay at the Sharaton or the Hilton. You'll get the same adequet experience for a whole lot less money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver We appreciate your taking the time to share your experience with us. As a valued Four Seasons patron you know that we strive hard to provide our guests with the highest level of service and personal attention and it is disconcerting when we fall short. I was disheartened to read that we failed to deliver the kind of service you have come to know and expect from Four Seasons. Please accept my sincere apologies for your disappointments. Your stay did not reflect a ‘true’ Four Seasons experience and we will use your valuable feedback to make improvements to our overall guest experience. I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and restore your confidence in us. I can assure you every effort will be made to provide you with a most enjoyable stay and one more in keeping with your expectations.
"Will be better if no construction across the street"
Got a good deal through expedia but I realized that they dropped the price due to the construction across the street which is in my room side. The room is average and doesn't reflect a five star hotel. Don't be deceived with price. There is usually a reason.Genuine Expedia guest review
