Breakfast comparable to that which was included with the hotel cost of every other of the 6 hotels we stayed at during this trip cost $12.95/person!! No refrigerator or microwave in the room - frig was included in every other hotel and usually microwave, as well. Front desk staff very courteous and very helpful. Response by Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre Thank you for choosing the Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre. We have a beautiful newly renovated restaurant on property that offers full breakfast buffet at the price mentioned above. We are sorry to inform you that we are not able to provide complimentary breakfast to guests as we are Holiday Inn full service. However, guests are able to find rates from the hotel website that includes breakfast. As fridge and microwave are not standard amenities in our hotel, guests are able to choose different room types which include a fridge. We will certainly discuss this matter with other managers in the hotel and hopefully we are able to include a fridge in every room in the near future. At this point, we do not have any microwaves available.
"Great hotel in poor location"
Noisy due to renovation work during the day. Very accommodating personnel. Nice room. If you would like guests to conserve on towel usage, install more towel bars!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old hotel, needs maintenance."
Hotel staff were nice and the location convenient. Sky train is a few blocks away and plenty of food and cafes nearby. The downsideis that the hotel seems ancient and requires maintenance. The elevator broke down while we were there and everything seemed slow and old. Construction was going on while we were there, so hopefully this brings the hotel […] into the 21st century. "uneven"
Coke Machine out of order on my floor....only one of the two elevators working. There was a note in the lobby about the elevator dated in April but the note in the parking garage about the elevator was dated in January...I stayed there the beginning of June. No place to park when checking in...spaces for taxis but not for anyone checking in. The room […] was nice and clean and quiet...but the other things listed above were annoying. Especially when staying on the 14th floor...using the stairs was not an option. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Holiday Inn"
The hotel was in a central location which was nice. There was a Tim Hortons a block down from the front door. The room wasn't 100% clean (hair still on the bathroom floor) and we had to pay $15 to park overnight in the parkade on site. The pool and sauna were under construction and not available for use. The hotel didn't give us a discount for their […] amenities not being fully functional. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel, good location but so noisy"
This hotel was very nice and what you would expect from a holiday inn, expect that nobody told us that they are contrusting a car park behind the hotel. Until this construction is finished I wouldn't stay there. The construction began at 7.30am every morning, so not even a reasonable time that you could forgive the noise. Otherwise great location, just […] 10 min drive to everything (including the airport) and easy to find. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was wonderful stay. We just wish we know more about the room, they didn't have any fan in the bathroom and no fridge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre Dear valued guest, Thank you for staying with the Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre. We look forward to see you again in the near future. Regards,
"May not return"
Very poor reception, we were kept waiting far too long. Only one staff at counter even though there was someone behind in the office. I may not return just because of it. Why is it all these hotel have such poor tv reception, blurred tv's and poor colour, its not the 1950's.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre Dear guest, Thank you very much for your valuable feedback on your recent stay. We do apologize for the wait. We always schedule at least two guest services representatives for the desk; however, We would certainly look into this and identify the issue. As for the TV reception, Shaw cable is currently working on signal change in the area, the signal is unfortunately unstable for many of the businesses, especially for businesses with a third party movie provider, as the signal is not 100% compatible. We are currently working with our movie provide and Shaw to find a fix for this. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience.
"additional expenses"
the room was fine but if u want a fridge that is $20 if you need to park a car that is $17/per day if you want anything other than basic cable (no movies) there is a chargeGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre Dear valued guest, Thank you for staying with the Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre. We appreciated your valuable feedback on your recent stay with us. Some of the upgraded rooms do have a fridge included as we stated in the room description on the hotel website; otherwise, it would be $10 per night if you only require a fridge in the room. In order to accommodate long term stay guests, we also have a weekly and monthly rate as fridge is not a standard amenity for many hotels. Our parking lot is managed by a third party company, which is at a rate of $38 for every 24 hours; however, we do offer discount to guests who are staying. Our rate is $17 overnight, which is less than half of what the pay parking charges. We understand many guests require a fridge during their stay, and we are glad to inform you that we are working with our maintenance department on the power load for the hotel as we hope to add a mini fridge to every standard room in the near future.
check in area infront of hotel very small and taxis block the driveway. We got trapped, taxis blocked going forward and pedistran and heavy street traffic made backing on to the street nearly impossible. Hotel staff could help by having the taxis move forward 100' to clear roadway. Paid parking is not necessary for paying guests. This is a deal breaker […] for me. Response by Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre Dear valued guest, Thank you for choosing the Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre. And thank you for pointing out your concerns about the driveway and parking fee. We have been in communication with the taxi company and informing them to park on the side of the driveway and not to block the entrance. We have also been actively directing them away from the driveway whenever possible. We would certainly do our best to keep the driveway clear for our arriving guests. As of the parking fee, unfortunately, it is a public parking lot, and it is managed and operated by a third party company; however, we do have discounts for guests who are staying with us. The regular rate would be $38 a day; whereas we only charge $17, which is cheaper than many of the downtown hotels. We apologize for the inconvenience. Danny Guest Services Manager

"Grad Reunion Accomodations Not as Expected"
I booked a room with two beds, one for a school friend and one for myself. Upon arrival, I was lead to believe we were up-graded to a better room only to discover it had a single bed. My friend and I were then down graded and had to move our bags to another room. Not the greatest way to begin my weekend at your facility. I was unimpressed to say the […] least. I did not like having to show photo id to check in I don't have to do that at other hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre Thank you for choosing the Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre. In order to protect our valued guests, we must check your credit card against your government issued photo ID at the time of check in. We understand it may be inconvenient to our guests; however, this procedure would be the best way to protect our customers. We certainly apologize for the inconvenience.
"horrible parking"
My SUV would not fit in the expensive parking provided. The next lot they sent me to was full. I ended up parking in an unsecured lot that was quite a distance from the hotel and inconvenient.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre Happy Holidays! Thank you for choosing the Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre. We are sorry to hear your vehicle was not able to enter the public parking lot. The maximum height of the entrance is 6'6". The management company installed the bars to protect the sprinkler system we have installed in the parking levels. We certainly apologize for the inconvenience. As a hotel, we understand it must be stressful for our guests, we do allow staying guests to park in the driveway at time if space available. However, we will certainly speak with the management company and find a long term solution for this.
"Good place to stay not far from UBC"
If you are looking for a place for a short stay and want to be a reasonable distance to downtown but also fairly close to UBC (which was what we wanted),this is a great destination. The frontline staff are okay and the folks in the restaurant are pretty nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre Dear valued guest, Thank you for choosing the Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre. As you mentioned in your review, our hotel is only 10 minutes away from downtown Vancouver, and UBC is easily accessible from the hotel as well with an express bus half a block away from the hotel. If you do have accommodation needs in the future, please do not hesitate to let us know and we would certainly do our best to accommodate your requirements.
All was fine until bedtime, the bed was so high that if, like me, you are older, short and somewhat arthritic clawing way onto it is not fun. Also, our daughter stayed with us the first niigh so we paid for a cot in the room, which requires a new mattress so you don't have to spend the night trapped in the hole in the middle.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"an expensive weekend in Vancouver"
Was a nice enough hotel but very overpriced. The room itself looked recently renovated. The pool and fitness room were closed due to renovations - maybe the hotel fee should have been reduced to reflect that. I also felt that the parking fee was way too much money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Nothing more, nothing less. Hotel is dated and for its location this was disappointing and should be a feature hotel in the area. Instead it is a throw back to 1980s.
