"Customer Service Upgrade Sorely Needed"
The hotel itself was OK, but the service was not! Apart from the absence of the desk clerk for about 10 minutes at check-in described above, we purposely chose this property for its free airport shuttle. After finally checking in, we went to dinner and returned the rental car at the airport. Before leaving the hotel, I had asked how we got the shuttle […] to bring us back and the clerk said to call the hotel and he would dispatch it. Clearly after the check-in experience it was my mistake to accept that plan, and the same thing happened again: We stood at the Avis counter for 15 minutes waiting for a person to answer the hotel number and no one ever did. Desperate, we went outside and flagged down the Travelodge van (I had seen that logo on a building about a half-mile from Staybridge). The wonderful young driver agreed to let us ride to her hotel, from which we walked to ours. The clerk's explanation was the same as before: He had had to help another guest and the cordless phone obviously didn't work. He did apologize and tell us how sorry he was for our inconvenience, but when I asked him if we could be reimbursed for the generous tip we gave the Travelodge driver, he replied, "It would have to come out of my pocket," to which I replied, "Not that sorry, eh?" I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, and given this experience I can't imagine ever considering Staybridge again given all the really nice options that take care of their guests (all of them). "Great Room - no airport shuttle"
As soon as I arrived, I tried to arrange an airport shuttle for the next morning. I was told the shuttle was full at my requested time, which, already too early, was fro 5:45. There was space on the 5am, which would have meant missing any breakfast and waiting at the airport for over 2 hours, oe the 6:30, which could not guarantee timing for my flight. […] I asked how many people from this hotel were on the shuttle I wanted, and they said NONE!
