Great quality and choice for the savvy business traveller. Great gym, pool and location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Does not meet the Fairmont Standards"
I love the fairmont properties. The service is second to none. I always feel like royalty when I stay at any of their properties. This was a first at the Palliser and I was very disappointed with the condition of the hotel room. Carpet wrinkles/bumps (I also tripped coming into the room), unknown stain in the carpet right when you walk in, the bed was […] very low (I checked if it had a frame... it did), and the bathroom was severely outdated. It reminded me of an older Motel 6 along an interstate. The saving grace for the stay was the service was amazing and food was good. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was as expected. The amenities, cuisine, staff, spa were all at the Fairmont class of service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was awesome. I was allowed to upgrade to the gold floor which included drinks, snacks, and breakfast for a very resonable rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Once again the entire gold experience was superb.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The facilities, property location and caring staff continue to make this my destination of choice in CalgaryGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is beautiful. Rooms are very cramped especially the bathroom. Everything else very nice. Not worth $400 a night at all. I have stayed in much cheaper hotels and been more comfortable in the rooms and just as nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, exemplery property"
The Fairmont lived up to its promise once more. The amentities, cuisine and staff all contributed to the demands of my stay superbly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Calgary at your doorstep"
The Fairmont Palliser staff makes this historical hotel everything it can be for today's demands. . The rooms are going through renovation with in floor heating in the bathrooms, the beds are superbly comfortable. The Gold experience is true to its advertisement, excellent. I will return again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old School Newness"
This was my eleventh stay this year and the hotel has lived up and exceeded expectations every time. Facilities, Food, Service and outstanding.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"In the heart of Calgary"
This is a terrific hotel in the perfect location in downtown Calgary... just a block from all the great restaurants and shopping. If your business trip takes you to downtown Calgary, you really can't beat this location. And of course, since it's a Fairmont, the staff are top notch.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for an extended stay"
Living out a of a hotel for three weeks is difficult for anyone! The Palliser helped to make my stay more comfortable while I was here. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and attentive. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. Cleanliness of room/hotel: Excellent. Quality of Service: Excellent. Hotel amenities: Great, however, there were some things […] the hotel didn't have (Such as aspirin. Additionally, the pool was small and shallow and the work out room was also small but for a brief stay I think they're suitable.) Hotel Location: Great Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice hotel w/ great location & outstanding service. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My job has taken me from the U.S. to Canada, Brazil, Europe, and North Africa and this hotel has the best overall combination of service and facilities. I won't stay in Calgary unless it's the Palliser.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
BREAKFAST WAS VERY POOR AND EXPENSIVE AS WAS THE PARKING. THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Possibly Calgary's Best"
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I was in Calgary on business for a day and had been told by locals that this was THE hotel I should pick. Indeed, it was a wonderful experience. My room was spacious, beautifully decorated with a closet that was more like a dressing room and a nice marble bathroom. I came to regret that I did not have more time […] to spend at the Palliser! I will definitely stay there again when I need to return to that city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Older style kept looking stylish, clean rooms, gives you the fancy feel , resturants and refreshments are super over priced other than that great location and gotta love vallet parking with 8 ft of clearance for your truck.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay downtown"
Service was good, room was bright at clean, walking distance to the saddledome. Would definitely stay here againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very disturbed night"
Extremely disturbed first night with trains hooking up and coming and going outside my window. No coffee in room. Have to pay for wifi. They did move me to a much better, quiet Jr Suite after I complained. I asked twice to borrow a charger, which they said both times they would bring to my room - it never appeared. Most hotels I have visited have been […] better. Disappointed. Unlikely to choose Fairmont again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was amazing!! The first room we got was supposed to be non smoking but wreaked like stale smoke. I'm pretty sure this is a ploy to get you to upgrade your room....which we did. It was a Fairmont gold room and very very nice. Great view of 9th Avenue. A little pricey but we'll worth it!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location (except for the railroad tracks)"
Beautiful hotel. Loved the central location as I had several places to visit around the city. Room was smaller than expected, but comfortable. Room overlooked the railway tracks, so you could hear trains occasionally throughout the night. Didn't like that I had to pay extra for internet wifi access. Other reviewers mentioned the expensive parking. Their […] valet parking was just over $30 per day, with come and go privileges. However, I parked next door at the Impark lot. Because it was the weekend, it was only $6.00 per day (but you don't get in/out privileges; you pay each time you leave and enter). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Experienced at being professional"
Very nice stay. The whole place ran like a well oiled machine. I will be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything about this landmark hotel is good except if you are driving or rented a car then the huge issue of parking in downtown Calgary will take away all the pleasures. The hotel has parking facility for its guests but at steep price . Instead as a guest , one should expect subsidized parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A few things to work on"
I stayed at the palliser for 3 nights while I was there on business. Upon arrival my TV did not work. Maintenance was sent up and fixed it. My beside phone did not work as well. When calling guests services, they were very lovely, knowledgeable and willing to take care of any issue. My work kept me up late (3am) a few of the nights so I places the privacy […] door hanger out so I wouldn't be disturbed in the morning. I received 3 seperate knockings at my door that morning. One at around 10 which I ignored, one around 11, ignored also, and then another one shortly after 12 as I was up getting ready for the day. This time she knocked repeatedly while saying housekeeping until I opened the door. I'm not sure if the 10th floor housekeeping is not aware of what the door hanger means but in my world it means do not disturb. I understand she wanted to clean the room, but if I miss having my room cleaned, so be it. I was not impressed with that at all. Also, the ice machine didn't work on my floor so I went a floor up and got it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worth the stay and an upgrade"
We initially booked one night but upon arrival and seeing our room we fell in love with it! Now we took a $80 upgrade which gave us acess to their Gold Lounge. With the rate we got plus the upgrade, the cost still was worth it! We had a King bedroom that faced the Calgary Tower. There was a sitting area in the room and a large bathroom. The ambiance […] of the room was modern with a slight historic appeal. And the bed was so comfortable, you swear you are sleeping on a cloud. Now with the upgrade it gave us access to the Gold Lounge which offered complementary happy hour and breakfast. The food and the penthouse view were great! Staff were extremely friend and guest were pleasant too! With that said, everyone's experience is different. Our stay was great and in walking distance of downtown sights. Consider it - it is worth more than a one night stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I found the hotel room that we were in was a bit rundown, tub stained, hallways had a musty urine smell. For a premium hotel I felt let down. I will not stay there again. I'm sure other rooms in the hotel (which they will upgrade you to for an additional $80 per night were fine) who knows, I won't go back to find out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very pleasant, professional and polite staff. The room was very comfortable and had all I needed for a comfortable stay. I will recommend this hotel highly to any Nigerian travelling on business. Good value for money and far better than the hotels in the UK.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Amazing service, comfortable rooms, wonderful food"
The hotel staff were exceptional. I was travelling for business and had packages shipped ahead. Not only did they know exactly where there were, when I checked in they took the initiative to have them delivered to my room when I needed them two days later. Sure enough at the exact time I selected, the packages arrived to my room! Food was excellent. […] Many locally sourced ingredients, organic eggs, healthy and decadent options as well. Bed super comfortable. Register for Presidents Club for free wifi and separate check in. I am a Fairmont convert! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was outstanding. The amenities were very comfortable and the staff highly helpful and friendly. I would definetly repeat the experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Train Station Hotel"
The hotel itself was nice but old-fashioned, but the service was excellent. The worst part of the hotel is that many of its rooms especially from 2nd to 5th floor face a railway, so if you like hearing trains pass by every now and then, especially during the night and at early dawn, then you'll love this hotel. Otherwise, I'm staying somewhere else […] next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff are great, the valet service really stands out. Stayed on a three day business trip, and I would definitely recommend this hotel. Stayed in a King Deluxe, large room, nice furniture, great bed. The "old" charm of the room is nice, the bathroom could really use some updating however. Only real complaint is the persistent smell of cooked […] salmon on the 9th floor in the hallways. Overall a great experience, look forward to staying here my next time in Calgary. "Great business location"
As always the Fairmont did a wonderful job in making my stay an enjoyable event. The room was clean, comfortable, and in a desirable downtown location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was nice and clean staff was great. But was very displeased about the location of the room I heard the cn rail all night long. Hotels.com should book them selves a better floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Finally! - A hotel that lives up to its "stars""
Too many times I check into a hotel rated 3, 4 or 5 stars, only to be disappointed. The Palliser lived up to expectations. Parking is a bit removed, but "doable".Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed there due to proximity to convention center. No gift shops in the hotel and the gym closes at 11 pm. Hallways a bit musty smelling but to be expected due to age of hotel. Nice big rooms but washroom is quite small. Overall a classy place but not extraordinary for the price you pay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very old rooms in upper floor not worth the money"
I stayed at the Fairmont Palliser over a weekend. I asked for a nice suite with the best view. Money is not a problem. I was put in a suite with no windows on the 10th floor. There was one small window near the bathroom. After many phone calls and complains I was moved to a better suite. The hotel is very old and not worth the money they charge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Still good value, just barely"
Fairmont seems to be slipping in the service department, the small things make the difference and they are not there latelyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is overpriced for the state of the rooms. Overall feel of hotel is run down and tried.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, however I would never stay there again as the constant train noise outside my window, room 334 was unbelievable. Also, carpet was dirty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great food was served at meetings. Great Hospitality!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good hotel but experience was marred by construction. Also access options to internet are confusing - apparently you can choose to pay $13 a day or use the free access. Those not so savvy will end up paying for a service that she be provided free to guests (if it's free at the coffee shop and airport...). Finally, the chain needs to rethink content/entertainment […] strategy. Why would anyone pay $17 for a rental film when I can't rent the same (and did) for $6 from Rogers, Bell, Zune, etc. on the web. I used my Netflix free. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent service, unexpected blessing"
Although the one-way streets of downtown Calgary can make it a challenge, if you have google maps or something similar that helps alot. When we arrived at the hotel we were informed that we had been upgraded to a gold room at no extra charge. That sounded great but the reality was better. We were treated to a bigger (really comfy) bed in a larger room […] and access to a special lounge area for breakfast and snacks. Every staff member we encountered had a pleasant, friendly and helpful demeanor. Although we didn't get to spend much time there over the weekend due to our schedule, we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated what the time we were able to. Thanks!
