The Ramada Hotel Downtown Calgary offers 201 guestrooms on six floors with climate control and air-conditioning. Some rooms have a step-out balcony with a city or alley view. Amenities include a television with pay movies and TV Internet access and a video-game console. There is complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access. Microwaves and refrigerators are available on request. Cribs/infant beds and rollaway beds are available. Complimentary newspapers are provided.

Cheers Restaurant - Located adjacent to the front lobby, this open restaurant features an à la carte menu, and breakfast and lunch buffet, and dinner. An express breakfast menu is available, and meals can be pre-ordered to ensure timely morning departure. Children 6 and under eat complimentary meals with an accompanying adult.
Red Fox Pub - Lively pub atmosphere with a daily lunch buffet, a selection of appetizers and finger foods, plus a more extensive evening menu. Large-screen TV for sporting events, and a billiard table. Video lottery terminal gambling available.
In summer, guests can relax on the deck of the spacious outdoor pool. Exercise machines are available for aerobic or weight workouts. An on-site laundry facility is available to guests.
Walkers, cyclists, and runners can travel eight blocks north to the banks of the Bow River to access Calgary's vast network of paved riverside trails. Several parks along the Bow River offer excellent spots for fly-fishing (provincial license required), depending on the time of year.

"Meh - I've had better..."
Most important - room clean, quiet and bed comfortable. Sevice was above average. BUT - rooms very dated. Restaurant just so-so at best. AC was NOT responsive. "Downtown 3 star"

"Not recommended"
The hotel is rather old, the interior needs a major uplift. My room smelled on cigarettes although it was a non smoking room. The temperature in the room was below 15 degree and after unsuccessful search for AC control panel I had to call the front desk for assistance. It turned out that the hotel had central air and it is not an option to adjust the […] temperature. I was advised to turn the heater on (separate unit). Unbelievable, what a waste of energy, when the temperature outside was in the low 20s, not only that the central AC was cranking, but I had to turn up the heat!!!!. The hotel was OK, felt a bit dated, the window in the room did not close properly and some lights did not work. I got the feeling that it was all a bit 'take it or leave it'. "room temperature."

The hotel is old, I think it was built around the same time Calgary became a city so dont expect too much. "Only if the price make sense!"
Not a fancy hotel. Elevators are old and slow. My room was clean, but small and honestly a bit stinky (I was on the Executive floor!) But staff is nice and the price was low enough to make it acceptable compared to the craziness of hotels rates downtown Calgary. "Forget this Hotel if you travel by car..."

"Ramada Downtown Calgary - clean and convenient."
I liked the fact that the cover the top and bottom of the duvet. Some places still let you sleep with the same un-covered blanket as the last guests. The staff were great and the breakfast was quick. "Sad middle of the road hotel"
Out initial reaction to the hotel was not great and it was downhill from there. The staff was hit and miss with service. I ordered room service and when it arrived there were two cokes instead of one, not a big deal, but the waiter refused to take it back and told me my order said two cokes, end of story. I didn't give him a tip, end of story. We had […] asked for a crib when we reserved the room and had to ask again at the desk. The manager brought up an old playpen, no mattress, no sheet, no blanket. They don't have any of the above, sorry. The fine dining(AKA the coffee shop and breakfast bar) closed after lunch and there was nowhere to eat in the hotel after lunch. This is not mentioned in the ads. We didn't go into the bar so perhaps that is where all the good service and blankets are kept. The price and proximity to where my main business priority was made the Ramada the first pick of several hotels in the downtown Calgary area. Check in was smooth however the staff were not all to forthcoming with details around the airport shutter (in particular the price). The gentleman failed to inform me the posted price was for a one-way fare. Luckily […] the shuttle the next morning never showed up so I ended up taking the taxi which I was informed by the morning staff would have been cheaper then the 3 of us taking the airport shuttle. The room we stayed in was spacious. Excellent water pressure. Unfortunately the beds were (lack of better word) crap. My mattress had a forever pitt in the middle so that everytime I tried to roll over I would simply fall back in.
