"Overall good"
For the price was comfortable and walking distance to eateries and sites. Staff helpful in getting a tour setup in low season ( althogh did not happen as such) rented a car with staff assistance and garage parking available for duration of rental( for a fee)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Meh - I've had better..."
Most important - room clean, quiet and bed comfortable. Sevice was above average. BUT - rooms very dated. Restaurant just so-so at best. AC was NOT responsive. NO HOT (or warm or tepid) WATER in the morning due to an inoperable boiler. Impacted my business schedule. I won't stay there again unless I have to.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Totally adequate."
The hotel was totally adequate in every way. The walls had some small holes and the paint was peeling in the shower. The Beds were very comfortable and free of bed bugs. The bar was good or bad depending on the server, though we encountered more of the latter.Genuine Expedia guest review

Hotel is showing its age, but everything was fine except the internet connection. Very slow to the point of not being usable. Both nights I had to spend 15 mins with technical assistance while they tried to speed up the connection.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok hotel"
I stayed for three nights. I was disappointed by the hotel when I entered it, but it was definitely okay. The room was nice, which did make up for the otherwise not very well tended hotel. But for next time, I'll likely try to find another hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Ramada Hotel Downtown Calgary"
I recommend this hotel if you're on a tight budget or you have to stay downtown and all other hotels are booked. The desk clerk who checked us in didn't seem to enjoy her job and first parking attendant was curt and unfriendly. All other staff very friendly. Bed was old and uncomfortable, pillows too soft. Our room was clean and tidy but the age of […] this hotel is showing. Although parking fees were very reasonable, we didn't like the parking situation at all. The entrance to the parkade is very tight and you must let the attendant park the vehicle even though we were already in the parkade. We were then required to leave him the key and leave the driver's side window rolled down. Needless to say we were concerned about theft but were assured there would be someone down there at all times. Everything worked out but felt it was a strange setup. Second parking attendant was very friendly and helpful. Location is about 3 blocks from Scotia Center and The Bay. It's a nice walk and offers a variety of shops. Because it's centrally located, it's easy to access tourist favorites-The Calgary Zoo, trendy Kensington area across the river and also to 17th Ave., Epcor Center for the Arts, Chinatown, Calgary Tower, Glenbow Museum and Olympic Plaza, etc. We will be paying a bit more for a nicer hotel during our next stay visit to Calgary. "It does the job, nothing special, it is a Ramada...."
The hotel was OK, felt a bit dated, the window in the room did not close properly and some lights did not work. I got the feeling that it was all a bit 'take it or leave it'. It was satisfactory, but nothing notable for or against. for a one night stay it was fine. at elast there was free internet, always a plus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"parking was FULL ! but the bed was super comfy"
parking was full at check in . leaving no place close to park . the king bed we had was fantastic . but the paint in the room and above the sower was in vary bad need or repair . for $200 a night i was expecting better .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Parking situation is a shambles. Checked-in and wasn't able to park at hotel. I have no problem paying for parking, but don't want to drive around a strange city looking for alternate parking solutions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Ramada Hotel Downtown Calgary Dear Alan, We a appreciate your comments and apologize it was necessary for you to find alternate parking due to our underground parking being full. Our property operates with very heavy demand or sold-out status typically Mon-Thu. On these same evenings parking may be a challenge and will require our guest to park at a public lot to the west of our parkade entrance on 8th Avenue or on 9th Avenue and 6 Street SW, another public lot. Any guest staying more than 1 night is encouraged to return with their vehicle the next day so the inconvenience is minimized. Thank you for your feedback and for choosing the Ramada. Best regards,
I don't like how I had to find my own place to park...downtown Calgary at night, everything is paid parking which only takes credit cards.. Which I don't have.. You run the risk of getting a fine AND towedGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I stay here regularly. This time the heating system kept me up all night. Called desk and they sent someone up to fix but the noise continued through the night. Other times the rooms were quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Facelift please!"
I was surprised that a hotel with the Ramada brand was this run down. Chipped paint, stained rugs, it is really ugly. The beds are comfortable enough if that helps. There are lots of hotels in downtown Calgary. Book ahead and you'll get better value for your money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"room temperature."
Colder January day, about -20 degrees. Room on the 9th floor was excessively warm. Thermostat was turned as low as it could but yet heat was still pouring out the roof vent. Finally got comfortable at 4am by leaving door to the balcony open about a foot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"BAD FRONT DESK SERVICE, WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN"
I BOOKED A 2 DOUBLE BED ROOM, WHEN I WALKED IN THE ROOM , THE BATHROOM WAS SO SMALL I COULDN'T EVEN GET IN THERE AND CLOSE THE DOOR, SO I ASKED FOR THE SAME KIND OF ROOM WITH A BIGGER WASHROOM, I PHONED FRONT DESK TO LET THEM KNOW, THE GUY AT FRONT DESK WITH A LONG BEARD WAS RUDE TO ME ON THE PHONE, AND SAID HE WILL GET ME THE ROOM CHANGE, THEN HE SENDS […] A STAFF MEMBER TO MY ROOM TO GIVE ME THE NEW KEY CARD TO ENTER MY NEW ROOM, HE ACTUALLY GAVE ME THE SAME ROOM ON ANOTHER FLOOR, SO I CALLED FRONT DESK AGAIN AND ASKED FOR A BIGGER ROOM FOR THE SAME PRICE, THEN HE MUST OF THOUGHT I HUNG UP THE PHONE BUT I KEPT THE PHONE TO MY EAR, AND I COULD HEAR THE GUY DISRESPECTING ME ON THE PHONE, SO I WENT DOWNSTAIRS TO THE FRONT DESK, AND SOME OTHER MAN GAVE ME KEYS TO A BIGGER ROOM, I WAS TOLD THAT THE YOUNG GUY AT FRONT DESK WAS WRITTEN UP FOR BEING RUDE TO ANOTHER GUEST IN THE PAST, YET THEY KEEP HIM WORKING AT THE RONT DESK. I WILL NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN, , PAY A LITTLE MORE MONEY AND GET YOURSELF A BETTER HOTEL IN THE SURROUNDING AREA, WHEN I FIRST CHECKED IN I HEARD A LADY COMPLAINING ABOUT HER ROOM AND THE LACK OF ATTENTION SHE WAS GETTING FROM THE RAMADA STAFF, THAT SHOULD OF BEEN A CLUE FOR ME NOT TO STAY THERE, BUT MY ROOM WAS ALREADY BOOKED ONLINE. VERY DISORGANIZED STAFF, AND THEY DON'T APOLOGIZE FOR ANYTHING THEY DO AT THIS HOTEL. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mediocre"
There's nothing wrong with this hotel but it seems to want to do nothing to distinguish itself either. They do the bare minimum. For example, my hotel room was very large - but had only a bed, desk and TV. There is room for a sofa, chairs, fridge but it's just empty space.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Stopover at Ramada Hotel Downtown Calgary"
The pool and area around needs some improvement. The charge you 2.73CAD for a small cup of coffee to go, I believe a hotel in this price category should have complementary coffee. If the coffee would at least be good I wouldn't regret buying!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Ramada - so so."
This hotel was ok for one night. We were out all day so it didn't matter anyways, but for the price and the service we could have stayed at a motel and it would have been the same. The staff were not the friendliest. I found this place, depressing. But checkout was at noon so that was a plus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value for expedia hotwire price"
The staff at front were freiendly and check in was smooth. We got the fridge and microwave we requested with no problem. The staff member even advised us of events taking place in the area. The male room attendant/house keeper was very pleasant and accomodating. The valet parking was not convenient at check out. There were several guests waiting for […] their vehicles and it took us about 15 mins to get our vehicle. Service at the restaurant is basic. We ordered room service breakfast and the eggs, sausages, bacon and muffins were cold. The coffee was barely enough for just over 1.5 cups. The hotel is acceptable. I would stay there again but I would not use the $15 per night valet parking or the restaurant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ramada Downtown"
The hotel is old, I think it was built around the same time Calgary became a city so dont expect too much. The first issue was they gave me the wrong room key which opened the door to someone else's room. I had to go and get that sorted out before getting into my room. Breakfast was the most disorganized affair I have ever seen with one person seeming […] to be doing all the work with the other four people wandering around in a daze. The staff were friendly and did try to help out as much as they could. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was in a great location but there was no ac in the room and it was extremely warm in the room. For the amount we paid we were disappointed with the fact that it was hot and no way to cool it. Otherwise it is a nice hotel and the staff were very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonable price for downtown"
My only complaint would be the paper thin walls. There was a party next door which woke me at 3 am and even loud conversation was audible. The workout room is equiped with newer machines that work so was impressed with that but I didn't try any other services.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ramada downtown Calgary"
My wife loved the Jacuzzi. I found the room too small. Was not impressed by the little shower where I kept on bumping the the shower handle to hot, burning myself. We asked for a fridge which was we got fairly quick but it was dirty with dried milk all over the top and door. They need better sound proofing for rooms next to the Jacuzzi rooms because […] the water running in the Jacuzzi above literally woke us up. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not bad but not great..."
well first of all, they had a problem with the hot water in our room, not a great starting point, lied about it, and then made us wait over 4 hours for it to come back on. We were talking in our room one night, and the walls are so thin that the people next to us could hear us. Bathrooms are really small, food not great, but the location was good downtown. "Only if the price make sense!"
Not a fancy hotel. Elevators are old and slow. My room was clean, but small and honestly a bit stinky (I was on the Executive floor!) But staff is nice and the price was low enough to make it acceptable compared to the craziness of hotels rates downtown Calgary. I would recommend it for a quick solo business trip...if the price make sense!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Location is deserted on a non-Stampede weekend"
First, the good things: the hotel is reasonably priced, close to transit, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Also, I had a really tasty breakfast at the hotel restaurant. However, part of the reason I picked a downtown location was so that I could wander and see shops and cafes and such. No such luck - downtown Calgary is a ghost town on the weekend. No […] fault of the hotel's, but if you're looking for walkable food, shopping, and entertainment, then this isn't the place for you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ramada Hotel, Downtown Clagary"
The valet parking, express checkout and ordering breakfast the night before was good. the room was small, the bathroom counter was falling apart and the 'king' size bed was no bigger than a double.
