I arrived in the Orio airport and I just missed the last shuttle to the hotel however the wonderful young lady from the front desk sent one of their cars to pick me up anyway. A very smart new hotel that is perfect for the Bergamo airport. There is not much close to the hotel so expect to eat in the hotel restaurant which is a bit expensive but very good. "Good and bad"
The good: immaculate in decor and cleanliness, good room, comfortable bed, breakfast selection. The bad: internet very slow and not wifi as advertised, slow service and everything seems like it's a pain. On booking I contacted them to check if I could get a free pick up/drop off from/to Bergamo airport and they said it was available from 7am until […] 11pm. When I arrived at 22.30 I called them to be told that they had nobody to pick me up. When I mentioned that they had told me until 11pm they quickly found somebody to pick me up. You need to book a time slot for a lift back to the airport (seems every half an hour). I had to accept a slightly later slot since the earlier one was already full (it's a fiat punto - so max 4 passangers). This wouldn't have been a problem if it was on time. They told me to wait outside (very cold). 10 minutes later, still nobody to take me, so I went inside and they said it would be a few minutes. Few minutes later went into to check again and finally somebody came out to take me to the airport. Not sure why they sent me outside since I was taken by somebody at the reception desk. I get the feeling that sending me outside they just forgot about me. It served a purpose, I cannot fault the cleanliness, room and bed. Would be top notch if it had the service to match it. I was extremely impressed with this hotel. During the day time there is a shuttle bus to/from Bergamo airport. Breakfast is very nice with plenty of selection. The room is fabulous - very quiet, very comfortable and a particular highlight is the jacuzzi bath!!!
