The exterior of the hotel is very nice. Nice pools. The staff was excellent and very accomodating. The room could use some renovation. The tub leaked from underneath the tub onto the floor. Maintenance came up twice to caulk to fix it but it still leaked. The restaurant lunch and dinner buffet is way over-priced. You have to pay for the use of the fitness […] area and hot tubs! The price of the hotel was decent, however, because you are isolated due to the hotel's location, they take advantage of you on everything...food, drinks, entertainment etc. The casino is a joke alos. Maybe 10 slot machines and 8 tables. Minimum on slots is 25 cents and they are very tight. Read more

The hotel room was a little 'tired' looking but the public areas were nice and well looked after especially the gardens and it woukd make a great place to relax. If you want a non smoking room then you should make this clear. As a business user I was very disappointed with the internet speed, no iron in the room (although there was an ironing service) […] and no in room tea and coffee making facilities. However the staff were wonderful, eveyone smiled and said hello no matter what their job and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. The breakfast selection was overwhelming - so much choice and it all looked good. I ate an evening meal buffet which was very good with a wide selection and I also had a meal at the bar which was OK. This hotel is 45 mins from Cairo centre (on a good day!) but I was working in October City so this wasn't an issue. Just one other point, the Mall of Arabia is about 15/20 mins away by car and the hotel wanted to charge me 220 Egyptian pounds for this trip, when I told the people I was working with they said it should be more like 30 Egyptian pounds - now I don't mind paying a 'tourist/hotel' rate but that was a blatant rip off so beware! All in all I would stay here again on account of the helpfulness of the staff and the well kept gardens and public areas and wouldn't have any reservations about recommending it. Read more

The hotel was great. It was clean and was a proper resort hotel. The food amenities were very good and the food of good quality. It is a long drive to the hotel from the airport but it is still closer to the pyramids than staying in the centre of Cairo. It is still a bit of a drive to the pyramids but not too bad. The concierge staff were very helpful. […] We had a very poor experience with the limousine company that arranged our daily transport as there was no communication between the day and night managers and we were constantly having issues with them trying to rip us off. When we were due to leave they wanted to charge us over double the price that we paid to get to the hotel from the airport. The concierge staff were helpful in arranging the previous night that we get the transfer to the airport for the same price that we paid from the airport only to find out the next day that the manager of the limousine company did not agree to anything and they were not willing to help us. Luckily the concierge was contacted and the transport was sorted out for the agreed price but my advice to future guests would be to not use the limousine service at all and get the number of a local street cab when first arriving at the airport. It will be much cheaper. If you are not used to haggling like I am then you will get ripped off. When negotiating a price knock 75% of their initial price and you will then be able to meet them half way and save yourself a packet. Read more

we picked this hotel because we were travelling with our own car and with kids. This hotel has reasonably priced and very secure car parking, plus plenty of run -around space, grounds and play equipment for the kids. THe staff are just incredible and probably the only thing that makes this hotel 5 star. Albergo meritevole le 5 stelle. Colazione molto molto varia ed abbondante. Personale cortese ed efficiente. Piscine molto ampie e costantemente pulite. Il Moevenpick Media City già all'arrivo stupisce per la ridondanza del lusso in ogni dove. E' un hotel ad uso dello star sistem televisivo/cinematografico di stanza al Cairo e non è quindi propriamente indirizzato ai circuiti turistici convenzionali. Ciò nonostante l'elevata qualità del servizio è percettibile ovunque. Le camere, ubicate in una serie […] di fabbricati a 1/2 piani che si articolano attorno ad una serie interminabile di piscine ed aiuole, sono spaziose, moderne e pulite. Nonostante la distanza considerevole, aeroporto e piana di Giza sono raggiungibili abbastanza agevolemente grazie alla superstrada che attraversa da nord-est a sud-ovest il Cairo. Raggiungere il centro (Museo Egizio, Cittadella di Saladino, Kan El Khalili) è ovviamente più complicato e richiede un po' di pazienza, ma una volta terminate le visite programmate, l'hotel saprà offrirvi di certo ristoro e relax.
