The hotel is very inconvenience. I took the train to the station according to the direction, but could not find the shuttle bus stop, and then I walked uphill with luggage under the extremely hot weather and reached the hotel. The room was extremely small, which I understand. Then I was trying to catch shuttle bus to go out. I read the schedule and […] confirmed with a staff that the bus will be on time in 5 minutes. I waited 30 minutes but still did not see that shuttle bus. I asked another staff and he told me that the shuttle bus went to the airport to pick up customer. We were in Singapore for a 3-day shopping stopover before heading home after a long vacation in Indonesia, and booked this hotel based on the ratings here on hotels.com. We were not disappointed.Given that the hotel is a converted student housing, the rooms are small, but not crammed and come with a rather large selection of complimentary bathroom amenities […] and free drinks (a bottle of water and can of Pepsi, which we really appreciated a lot) and same snacks (crackers and cookies). The room even has a small fridge, so you can bring some food and drinks and keep cold. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There were some signs of wear and tear (stains on carpet), but both the room and the bathroom were well cleaned during our stay. The free Wifi was quite fast, which isn't always the case in some hotel. The location is quiet, and only a 10-minute walk from Outram Park MRT station, which btw is directly acessible from Changi airport without changing lines. There is a free shutle from the hotel to the MRT every 20 mins between 10am and 8pm, and if you're lucky you can even catch it on your way back to the hotel. For getting around in Singapore we found the location to be quite OK, and If you want to save money on food there is a small S$2 noodle and rice seller at Outram Park MRT if you want to grab a quick bite before heading anywhere. We chose Hotel Re for a cheaper lay over before a cruise and our arrival time of 2 am. It was close to Harbour front, but not to Marina Bay after all. Our kids loved the 70's disco decor and so it gave us a good laugh. The bed was comfy with some variety pillows to accommodate preferences. Some electrical issues in the room were a bit frustrating. The […] lights behind John Travolta wouldn't turn off so an electrician was called at 3 am. He was able to reroute something, but whatever he did turned the light out in the bathroom for the next day. Buffet breakfast was okay. The hotel arranged one of their vans to take us to the marina but had no idea where to go and had to ask for directions twice. We gave 3 stars for those issues. The free wifi was nice since more expensive hotels make you pay for it. Overall found it a good layover hotel. Read more

I booked a night because so many other reviews recommended Hotel Re! as a great place to stay when your flight gets in at 3am. It absolutely is. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful for information and calling taxis, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and it's quiet. The photos on the site might make it look like a bit of an eyesore to some people, […] but most of the decor is gray tones with a bright accent color. I found it very soothing. The location is also great, it's just a short walk to the nearest train station. We were so satisfied that we booked another night for our return trip when we checked out. The Hotel Re is located about 10 minutes from the Outram and Chinatown MRT stations and is on a bit of an uphill incline. It is good exercise for someone who enjoys the walk. This hotel is a converted student dormitory, decorated in 2008 with 1970s decor and disco balls in mind. Lots of pink and orange or yellow and orange on top of relatively small spaces...silver pillows. The problem with this is that such eye-popping style must be kept up, as age shows fast, and it's showing here. A little mold on the tiles here, chips […] on the painted doors there, etc. The location is OK...nicely on a hill overlooking the Chinatown area, with very walkable access to the MRT subway, and taxis are called within 5 minutes, which was impressive. It is not a 4 star hotel as advertised. The gym doesn't deserve the name (it is about 3x5 meters with one treadmill). Given the party atmosphere, you would expect something of a late night scene, but the restaurant closes at 11pm, and there's no bar I could find, no buzz in the lobby, kind of dead and ultimately vaguely sketchy. The hotel is a relatively re-convetred from a school to a hotel.The rooms are small and cozy. Bathoom is quite small also.Staff are very friendly and nice. The room decor color is not my type (pink and green or some odd combination). May be it is a kids room combination color.Nice to have complementary wireless internet connection.

Ten minute walk one direction to the shops of Chinatown, ten minutes the other way to the restaurants and night life of the harbor area. This hotel used to be a dormitory so the rooms are rather small. The shower is great. They provide bottles of water, soda pop and snacks free of charge + a refrigerator & a safe. It's about a 10 minute walk from the MRT station that requires a hike up a small hill. I have no complaints and would stay there again.

This is was my second stay at the Hotel Re, and they must have known that as they upgraded me to a suite when I had only booked a regular room. This is the best location - quality - price hotel option I know of in Singapore, and I didn't bother looking at other hotels when I booked here, because I was suitably impressed last time. The ONLY complaint […] I even had was this - last time, when the breakfast was on, they don't make just plain scrambled eggs, so the chef cooked me some plain ones on request, but this time they refused.........that's it ! The rooms are very clean & modern, and immaculate. You get an LCD screen, a/c, and a great view. I didn't hear any noise all night, although having just got off a very long flight I was always going to sleep well. I was upgraded this time, presumably because I had stayed there before, so I got a suite when I had only booked a standard room, something to which was greatly appreciated. In terms of location, it is a few minutes walk to Outram Park MRT, which is the station for two of the city's train lines, so mobility is great. I did have a problem with my wi-fi connection in my room the following morning, but I relocated to the lobby and it was very fast and a steady connection. Read more

Will not be back, Not because we had a water leak from the sealing in our room, that was actually a good thing as they upgraded us to a better room, but because the whole place is cheap. Had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Hotel Ree and thought it was brilliant! It was at the cheaper end of the hotels looked at and proved to be excellent value for money. It looked and felt very luxurious - our bed was huge and really comfortable, our air-con quiet but effective. The free minibar and wi-fi was a really nice touch, and the free toiletries […] replenished daily were lovely. Room was fine, bed was comfy and we had a complimentary mini bar too. Though not a fantastic mini bar, but it's the thoughts that count. Toilet shower space is cramp. Hotel is overprice for location, room and staff. Other then the Laksa serves in the restaurant, nothing makes me wanna go back again. We had a very late night the day before check out […] and overslept the next day until 11.30am and the hotel staff called to remind us of our check out time. We then ask if we could extend for a few hours, and was charge $30 for 2hrs. Its really expensive. I've been to so many hotels in SG, most of it would understand and allow us to check out a little later at no charge and that's provided it's not the peak period. Re!Hotel isn't very lenient on that. Very money conscious. Every 30mins before a check out time, we would receive a reminder call. In total, we received thrice - which once was the irresponsible staff who forgotten that we extended our check out time and called us and question us rudely what time are we leaving. Such a shallow and ill-mannered staff. I was really annoyed at the end of my stay. Especially those calls at the very last few hours when I'm getting ready and rushing off. Read more

This hotel provided very good value. The rooms were fairly small, as can be expected in Singapore. It is easy to walk from the hotel to the nearest subway station, so making travel all around the city very easy.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and pleasant room with comfortable beds. The price as booked through expedia was good compared with Singapore prices. The theme and decor is retro and struck us as rather strange at first but it grew on us and we came to quite like it.
