Location.
The Shangri-La Hotel is located in the center of the city-state of Singapore in Southeast Asia. Only 25 minutes from Changi International Airport, the hotel is a luxurious retreat for the busy traveler. Singapore River runs through the city, and river taxis are available. Orchard Road offers a variety of department stores, souvenir shops and malls. Sentosa Island is connected to Singapore by a causeway and cable car, and offers attractions including a zoo, water rides and a golf course.
Hotel Features.
The Shangri-La Hotel's glass walls overlook a 15-acre botanical haven, freeform outdoor pool and children's pool. Several award-winning restaurants and a bar are on site, all with vegetarian options. A buffet breakfast is provided (surcharge). The fitness center includes all-weather tennis courts, showers and a relaxation area. Aromatherapy, beauty and spa services are available in private massage and treatment rooms. Weddings can be arranged by experienced wedding planners at the 60,000 square feet of banquet and ballroom space. Large and small meeting/conference rooms are available. Valet parking (surcharge) and free self-parking are offered. A complimentary area shuttle is provided. Child care also is available.
Guestrooms.
There are 747 guestrooms and suites at the Shangri-La Hotel. Features include desks, fully-stocked minibars, refrigerators, electronic safes and cable television. Wireless Internet access is complimentary. Guests staying in the Valley Wing can enjoy complimentary beverages all day, including champagne and canapés, and a private driveway and entrance. The wing was renovated in 2003.
Extra Tip. The Singapore Botanic Gardens are one block from the Shangri-La Hotel. The site's rich history dates back to 1859.

Nadaman - Japanese cuisine. Three tatami rooms, two teppanyaki counters, Western-style private dining room. Contemporary, marble-dominated decor with natural woods, rich earth tones, and a small stream. Electromagnetic cooking surfaces allow food to be cooked at tables without generating heat. Lunch and dinner.
BLU Bar - Guests can choose from more than 200 wines and enjoy the view from the 24th floor. Vintages are also available by the glass.
Rose Veranda - Afternoon tea, with 100 varieties served on Wedgwood china, accompanied by live classical piano music. Light British and Asian fare. Views of lobby, gardens, waterfalls, and koi ponds. Traditional-style room with plush armchairs and deep sofas. Open noon until late afternoon.
Shang Palace - After months of extensive renovation, Shang Palace re-opened on November 7, 2007. This restaurant offers an innovative interpretation of Cantonese cuisine, provincial specialties, and Chinese tea culture. The contemporary Chinese décor features floral motifs on the red glass ceiling, with walls hand-painted by Chinese artisans. The lush greenery serves as a backdrop for the restaurant's “Dining in a Chinese Garden” theme.
The LINE - Overlooking the hotel's tropical gardens, with some tables for alfresco dining by the pool. Local and other Asian specialties; international fare. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets. Open early morning until late evening.
Lobby Court - Grand marble columns and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking gardens. Beverages and light fare, including vegetarian selections, served early morning until late evening.
The hotel's 15 acres of tropical gardens encompass a 36.5-meter (120-ft) freeform pool with connected children's pool, a spa tub, four tennis courts, and a three-hole pitch-and-putt golf course. A well-equipped fitness center overlooking the pool and koi ponds offers cardio and weight machines, a steam room and sauna, and spa treatments such as post-flight therapy, herbal baths, and body wraps. Yoga, Tai Chi, aerobics, and circuit training are also available. Charges may apply.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens, one block away, is a lovely venue for jogging or leisurely strolls.

Ngee Ann City has everything under one roof, from designer labels and street wear, to jewelry and fast food.
