The person at the front desk was very rude, and never made me feel like I was welcome. The next night I heard another front desk worker made your guess feel welcome.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We had to plug in a phone charger, so I used the plug behind the night stand....OMG!!! So much garbage was behind the night stand (by the window) I got very upset....I guess we're not supposed to move the furniture but the bathroom plug-in wouldn't work. Also, left charger attached to the wall, called an hour after we checked out, they said they'll […] mail it to us....3 days later said they don't have it. "Not worth it"
Left a list of problems with the main desk, do not know if they were fixed. The main desk main man was vdry helpful, but the hotel was certainly not in the quality of the price. It was also not necessary o charge so much for parking overnight. At the pirce(s) I would not reccommend the hotel to anybody but enemies.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent but needs updating in bathrooms"
Hotel service top rate. Loved the location. Room very well equipped. My only suggestion is that the bathrooms (we had to move rooms because of two reservations) need serious maintenance. The tile/grout in both bathrooms were quite moldy and in one it was starting to fall off the wall. Both bathroom doors with chipped paint were unable to close completely […] because they no longer fit the frame. They both needed a pretty complete redo. Get a room on the riverside. Definitely worth the amazing views of the Charles River. No breakfast included but with frig and microwave it was not an issue. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Overall a good deal."
I have stayed at the hotel many times. This time I was a little bit disappointed. The TV in the bedroom didn't work and the internet signal was too weak to work on the desk in the bedroom. You had to go to the suite upfront to get a signal. I give this hotel still the thumb up because you get a lot of room for you money in the middle of Boston. The […] refrigerator allows you to store drinks and food which is very convenient. Overall, the hotel is a good deal given the quality of the hotel, the location and vicinity to major Universities and downtown. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The mattress was very uncomfortable. The rest of the room was great. Parking was an issue - ran out of spots in the parking garage and our key card to enter the parking garage was deactivated eventhough we had to pay $35/night for parking. Free internet in the room would have been nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Unexpected Rip Off!"
Why was the price on the room so great? Oh, they have an excellent hidden fee. You see, there is no parking lot, only a parking garage with a gate. The gate requires you to use your room key to get in and out; they tell you when you check in that you can use your card to go in and out as often as you want. What they don't tell you, until it's already […] on your bill, is that they charge you $35 per day to park. Oh, they hint at it being free, they suggest that it's free, but it's not free. So, add $35 / day to your room rate. Quite upset. Won't stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not an "all suites" hotel"
While we did enjoy our stay at Doubletree, I'm very disappointed that we were miss led by the advertised "all suites" hotel. We did not have a suite. In fact, what we had was a conference room with a bedroom attached to it. Not at all what we expected to find! However the actual bedroom was clean and comfortable so all was not lost. We had expected […] to have a suite with a couch and an area where we could meet friends and have some wine before dinner etc. but instead what we had was a conference table and chairs - quite a surprise I must say. Buyer beware. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too hot"
Upon arrival the staff was warm and welcoming and our room was ready. We ran in to change to head to Our engagement we arrived back to the room pretty late only to go d that he air conditioning didn't work and it was almost 80 degrees in the room. I called the front desk and they sent up a fan which simply pushed the hot air around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would not return"
Hotel lobby appearance was nice. Our room was fairly clean but the towels were not replenished properly. Had to request more which they came immediately after I called. Ordered room service and some of my food was burnt. Staircase in parking garage was very dirty. Entrance to hotel was not easily accessible. Not worth it's price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"weekend gettaway that wasnt easy"
The room & hotel is nice. However, the location of the hotel & traveling outside of the hotel wasn't easy. Also the price of parking at the hotel per night was pretty ridiculous. I'd recommend this hotel for out-of-towners with family nearby whose willing to show them around, otherwise, its a bit if a hassle.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Poor ventilation and you have to pay extra to park"
One of the problems with our stay was that the heater/ac motor was loud. Also, the ac didn't work well. We complained, and the staff said the turn the temp lower. We did, but then within a few minutes the ac would go off. So, we couldn't sleep because it was too warm and stuffy in the room. Also, when we checked in the staff said, "Everything has already […] been paid for through Expedia." They gave us our room key and said we should just swipe the card to park. However, at the end of our stay we got a bill for $35/a day for parking. I think we should have been told we needed to pay extra for parking! With the price I paid for the room, I feel parking should be included. I have stayed in other hotels where it was NOT extra. That adds a substantial amount to your cost. "Double Tree Suites in Boston; fine"
Very nice hotel; room a bit small, but probably what you'd expect in the City. A bit appalled by the exorbitant parking fee, which somewhat undermined the great deal through hotels.com. Clean, upscale facility. Our room overlooked the river, but not charmingly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice with a few minor flaws"
Nice, clean and quality accomodations. The hotel was very noisy, wedding and play-off football game. The only concern I had about the room was the bed, which was too soft. The cleanliness was superior, extra benefits (popcorn, peanuts, water, etc.) were a nice touch. Another negative was the lack of proximity of public transportation, on the flip side, […] parking was convenient and easy in/out. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The DoubleTree in Boston-Supposedly close to BU"
This hotel, which claims to be 5 minutes from Boston University, is not within walking distance, does not have shuttle service to the University and the taxi to the campus cost $15. Everything in Boston was ridiculously expensive. The beds in this hotel were too cushy; no one at the front desk answered the phones and they certainly did not try to be […] accommodating to their guests. I would not stay there again. The hotel itself was great, but was not particularly donvenient from a tourist's perspective. The staff was pleasant and helpful and everything in the hotel worked. If I were a business traveler going to Harvard or anywhere in Cambridge it would be fine, but not for someone without a car going into Boston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Service wasn't great, but very nice otherwise"
We actually really loved the hotel itself. Location was great, very close to Fenway, though the T stop was a bit of a walk-would be much more pleasant when it is not as hot out! However, the service was terrible. We had multiple issues with our keys being programmed incorrectly, including my friend initially being checked into someone else's room! One […] of the front desk workers was extremely rude when I requested to have a cab called instead of walking to the T stop in 100+ degree weather. Overall, I would recommend the hotel itself, but for the price I would expect the staff to be more helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dinner accomodations were Terrible! Room was great"
Staffing Issues: The hotel did not have enough dinner staff for both nights we stayed. There was a large party being held in the lounge, so no room to sit had to wait 20 minutes or so and then had to order dinner from the bar, no wait staff! The bartender was excellent and very worked very hard to make us comfortable. Pretty hard to do when you have […] no additional help. THE MAIN DINING ROOM WAS CLOSED BOTH NIGHTS WE WERE THERE - unacceptable for a Doubletree Hotel. (the food is very good once you get it) Breakfast was great - more than enough service staff which is what you would expect from a Doubletree Hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel OK, but room a little small, and location a little difficult to get to."
The room was small, but had a nice view of the river. The hotel itself was a little difficult to get to and had poor signage on the entrance and exit routes. Staff were quite friendly and helpful though. Parking cost of $25 per day was a bit steep in my opinion, given it is their own carpark, and wasn't full during my stay. I'd likely stay elsewhere […] next time, more central to Boston itself. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"If you need a suite..."
If you need two beds and a separate room for TV etc. this is a great alternative for the Boston area. The hotel is not located in an area you would want to walk around. The shuttles to and from the Copley Square area are fine if they fit your schedule, and there are always cabs available (though expensive in Boston).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Although a poor location (closest t train is a good 15 min walk) they had a free shuttle which was flexible. Rooms were nice but the beds weren't very comfortable. Good hotel to stay in if you need something cheap and won't be there often, but not if you're looking for a 5 star stay.Genuine Expedia guest review

Room and service were completely satisfactory, but parking was an issue due to a private parrty held on Saturday night. Hotel guests were unable to park in parking facility since cars parked were those of private party guests.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Double Tree was not in a good location for our us."

"Double Tree Suites Boston"
I was disappointed in this hotel for a few reasons. 1. The hotel advertises itself as close to Cambridge/Harvard Square. It's about a mile and a half and across the river to Harvard Square and in February that is not walkable. The hotel does have a shuttle but on the weekend it only runs every 2 hours. FYI - it was almost impossible to find a cab on […] a Sunday night in Cambridge. Weird. 2. There are no restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Because we did not have a car (various websites indicated they were not necessary and were even a detriment in Boston) we were stuck either taking a cab back into Cambridge or dining at the hotel's restaurants. The grill we ate in on Sunday night was crowded, understaffed and EXPENSIVE. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Only for visitors to the Harvard Business School"
Be sure you book a suite and not a room. It was small with a 60's aesthetic. No class, no luxury. A small white fridge and black microwave stuck in the room did not cut it. The shuttle was not as convenient as we had hoped. the schedule times were hard to work around and we were one minute past the pick up time and apparently had missed it. Overall it was a pleasent experience. If you plan on staying here without a car, you really should have a game plan. "Their own worst enemy!"
This was avery nice hotel, with comfortable, spacious guest suites, an all of the amenities I needed (although the wifi is not free). HOWEVER, they have a jazz club in the hotel, located on the second floor, and the live band (which was playing rock, not jazz) kept me up until the club closed at midnight (on weeknights), even though my room was on the […] 4th floor! There is no way this should be allowed to happen! Either move the jazz club, close it earlier on weekdays, or convert the 3rd and 4th floor rooms (and maybe even 5th floor) rooms to something else! Why put the health club on the top floor? Move it down to the floors disturbed by the music! I was seriously annoyed by this! It was like living next to a frat house all over again. I won't be back.
